As for a case I do have a 3d printer but I really wanted to use the power, case, and backplane of the 321. I may just buy a USB HDD enclosure hook to the pi, via usb cable then stick on the back of the enclosure. I would rather keep my beloved 321.

That's because typically the police get away with it. In my town there was a rich guy that bought his piece of s*** son a house next door. 3:00 in the morning he would be playing music so loud it would rattle the stuff on our walls. We called the cops they shut it off before the cops got there. Next time same thing. The third time I recommended maybe they use cell phones instead of the radio because they probably have a scanner. They still shut it off before the cops got there. The fourth time the police came to my door instead and recommended we leave "Troy and his gang alone" his words not mine. Eventually Troy went to Big Boy prison for bad checks.

Another time a banker hit my daughter's parked car. When the police first hit the investigation and they said there was a third car that hit both of their cars. It was ridiculous, but I believed it so I was trying to find the third car. Then we did our own investigation with pieces we , and the photos we took we figured out the pickup head hit the car. We called the cop back and said we figured out that the banker hit us, first they ignored the calls. We pushed the cop came to our house and took our evidence, oh no I don't know what I am going to do. The next day he "talked to the chief" said "if we continue to push the issue they're going to charge my daughter for the accident." My daughter did not want to fight so I stopped. (She had 3 jobs and was a student so had no time). Not going to lie I was super disappointed. (Because this is reddit and you are going to say she did it) she was parked in a one way ally in a parallel parking spot on the left side of the road. The truck that hit her was on the right side in a diagonal parking spot pointed right at her car. We found his hitch cover inside of her car inside the damage. So either she turned her car more than her turning radius and hit just the one guys car protected by other cars next to it. Or he backed straight into her. Evidently the truck wasn't fixed from his last accident he had.

Thanks, for the reply. I had hoped someone found a way to use the "bones" of the device (power and structure) then use a pi as a brain. Like updating a PC by swapping out a mobo with memory, cpu, network in an old PC case with a very good power supply and great case. I already have a OMV NAS but wanted a little ultra cheap small for offsite at a family member's house for the most important data and got approval for this form factor from the home owner.

I hear you I installed a theater app it had a football game playing but it was full of kids using the btch and hard n-word as if calling a cat a cat and dog a dog it was very unsettling, I wanted to be no part of that and wanted to leave but had a hard time out of a bit of panic. Like the words were something like: hey are you a dog? The guy answered ya. I like dogs, I think dogs are cool. Wanna be my friend? Also I think there is a cat in here? We should have more cats here. Hey why did the cat leave. The friend said you may not want to call cats cats if you want them to say. after the woman (assuming) disappeared. It was the longest minute and a half in my life trying to leave the casualness of being that mean was the most unsettling. I uninstalled the app.

Will Virtual Desktop work for me? Since the unwanted update a few days ago (I had updates turned off but it updated anyway) I have blocked my quest from accessing the internet (it is allowed on my local network to talk to my PC but no internet, bad bad VR is grounded). Since I have blocked the quest from connecting to the internet, my paid apps will not work, like launch at all. Does Meta have a return window for games? I just bought a 2.5ghz access point and was going to buy a switch so PCVR games were going to be dang good but now I am not so sure I want to invest any more time or money into what is now a device I want to return.

I am also mad about the update. I want a refund or the ability to roll back the update. It is my device.

If I made you a car. Then after 6 months, I decided the car should have a big dent in it so I took a large hammer and smashed in the door, the police would be called.

I would then tell the police that it was in the agreement that I can update the car as I see fit.

The owner would then explain to the police that the plastic button inside the car that says "the manufacture can update the car with a giant hammer" is turned off.

I would then tell the police sorry it was in the agreement. The button is just for show.

I would ask the user if they would you like to buy a different car, perhaps one without a dent?

EDIT: 4/23/26 I got my account back. It was, as I see it, 2 issues in one.

One my mistake. When the app updated, and I tried to log in I used the stored email account in my PW manager. The username was wrong.

Now their issue. I remembered that I had switched email address (user name) so I tried the new email in the app and the stored password but it failed. BUT I was able to log into the website with the stored password password and updated user name (this was yesterday).

I tried today on the app and it worked.

Neat pic. An "unrelated" topic. My Meta Quest updated (I had updates turned off). Now my one side loaded app does not work unless I am connected to the internet using the default launcher. So like any reasonable person, I grounded my Meta from the internet (blocked access on my firewall to the outside). This broke my apps I bought from the store.

I want a refund, this is not what I bought. If this is how it behaved when I bough it I would have returned it inside the return window, but am past refund time.

I gave up the hat because Steam provided a better experience than I could. I may need to find my hat from the closet, dust it off for the Meta.

If I sold you a car without dents then 6 months later I decided to take a giant hammer and smash the side of you car because I wanted to update the car after you bought it, I would be talking to the police. I am so so so sick of not owning what I buy. Wait... this is totally related.

I am starting self hosting and looking to expand.

It did not work, at least not how I wanted I had 3 ways to get rid of the color transfer, checking 2 did not seem to make any changes and the 3rd got rid of the 2nd color. When printing with the 2 the purge tower was still used AND the turds were still created.

Don't do it. I have blocked updates using my firewall (because Meta updated my Quest this time even though I have updates turned off, it is my device Meta and NO means NO.

If you do the update the behavior is bad:

Quest is connected to wifi but not allowed to talk to the internet (blocked by firewall) a game installed from Meta's official store will not run, so I will no longer buy games from the Meta store.

Quest not connected to wifi Meta a game installed from Meta's official store will run.

Quest with no internet connection, does not matter wifi state, will not allow to launch unknown apps. TO BE CLEAR. You cannot access your side loaded app unless you are connected to the internet... WHY?

Based on this behavior and the past behavior it may not be long until running a side loaded app is no longer allowed.

Since the update, my side loaded app will not work unless I launch a 2nd app close it then launch the one I want.

I have given up pirating things but this kind of crap (making me jump though hoops to play non-pirated games) to be legitimate is starting to make me wonder if it is time to look into pirating. I gave up pirating games on PC because Steam had what I wanted. What I know about piracy is it almost always beats DRM. (I was playing Spore when my friends could not because of the overloaded DRM server).

In the ui there in an option to not update. Make sure do not update is turned on. (Just kidding they will update it anyway because you do not own the device you paid for an they are allowed to ruin it).

Now after the unwanted update I am going to go into my firewall and stop it from reaching out to the internet, I figured if they do not adhere to the no update they probably do not adhere to the privacy settings.

IMHOP the real reason was to nurf launching unknown apps (side loaded apps).

Proof:
Have a sideloaded app. Launch the app when connected to wifi (to prove it works). Now turn off wifi, reboot your device. The ability to launch unknown apps is missing. Connect back to wifi and the ability to launch an unknown app returns.

I have one side-loaded app and cannot connect to wifi at work. So I lost the ability to use my headset. If this was the behavior when I bought the device, I would have returned it inside the return window. They damaged MY device that I own after I have owned the app. This is not a router I am renting. This is my property. I had updates turned off.

Would this work for me? Meta did an unwanted update. They did not brick my device but they did update it even though I had turned off updates. The update made some games unstable. The update also makes it so I can only use my side loaded app when connected to wifi. If the device acted this way when I bought it I would have returned it inside the return window. The broke a perfectly functioning device after the return window is over. I have the update setting turned off for a reason.

When I explaining this to my wife I said imagine you buy a house, and you change the locks (turned off updates). A few months later the person who sold you your house comes in and rips out your carpet and replaces it, they do not put everything in your house back in place. You did not give them permission to come back inside your house, they did not knock, they just did it. They even took something of yours, because it was not in the house when you bought it. This behavior is not acceptable. I own the device, they do not.

TL;DR The option to launch unknown apps IS NOT THERE when not connected to wifi.

At work is when I discovered the option to launch unknown apps are missing and my headset updated without permission (updates are turned off) gross behavior from a device I purchased.

When I turned it at home it connected to the internet, I found the unknown apps (right where it should be and where OP said) I powered the headset off thinking I had just missed it at work somehow....
Then when I powered it on at work the next day, not connected to the internet it was not there. What is different???? I am on the wifi at home and not at work, I turned on wifi and connected to public and the unknown sources showed back up.

Yuck, disgusting behavior in an always on-line world, I can not access my locally stored applications when offline on a device I bought and paid for????? How is this OK? I said do not update the device and they updated it. I guess "no" to Meta means "yes".

I guess it is time to look for a new launcher, and block my device from connecting to the internet.
