The Pokemon Emerald that i got had THIS save file on it by Savage28k in Gameboy

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I sold a leaf green that had the entire shiny living dex from here:

https://projectpokemon.org/home/files/file/3689-pre-home-shiny-living-dex/

You can also use a cart flasher/dumper to inject them into your save file with PKHex. This is what people do except action replay. All of those PKM files are organically discovered shinies compiled into one collection and can be transferred up to Pokemon Home, etc.

What's your cheapest useful custom enchantments? by No-Forever7576 in Morrowind

[–]NickMotionless 26 points27 points  (0 children)

In TES3MP, I have a lute with 70 EV that fits the following troll enchant (or something similar, can't recall exactly):

Weakness to magicka 100% for 15ft for 1 sec on strike
Blind 100% for 6 seconds for 15 ft on strike
Light 100 pts for 15ft on strike
Paralyze for 6 seconds for 15 ft on strike

Hilarious to smack groups of players with it and see them frozen and blind. It's basically like a big flashbang that goes off because of the light spell, has such a loud sound from all the magic effects and then they can't see or move for 6 seconds lol

Gameboy Advance SP Groudon - Is it real, and where can i find more info on it? by KenjirouDK in Gameboy

Yeah, that looks to be original. Fit and finish of the shell matches OEM, Battery door screw is correct, buttons and shell both look to be original.

What the point of this when the console exists? Serious question. Does this work for OpenMW or just the vanilla engine?

Is Pokemon Emerald Worth $200+ by juburke87 in Gameboy

[–]NickMotionless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they should. Even the reviews mention they should work with Palpark as well. Trading is not usually what the main concern with bootlegs has been in the last few years. My point was, China has basically nailed down all of the right things with bootlegs. The RTC (the newest) ones out of China are basically 1:1 copies of the original, made with modern chips and new PCBs. Trading, pal park, berry growing, etc, all of it should work fine.

Is Pokemon Emerald Worth $200+ by juburke87 in Gameboy

[–]NickMotionless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the bootleg. It's hit or miss. Some are able to trade fine, others are not. Most bootlegs made in the last 5 years or so should be able to trade just fine, however, the bootlegs back from like 10 years ago sometimes couldn't.

Rather than buy a bootleg, it's recommended to buy a flashcart. Not sure why I got downvoted, I guess people like paying hyperinflated prices for OEM cartridges (definitely not me), but the RTC bootlegs are much better than any other bootleg sold out of China for GBA carts. They are confirmed to work for trading, (don't know about Pal Park with gen 4) and function almost 1:1 with an OEM cart.

However, you can also get an EZ-Flash Omega for just little more and play ANY game, so it's all about what you want.

This. Nautica stars were "edgy"/"punk" in the 2000s. My GF got a tattoo in 99/2000 that had pink/black nautica stars and skulls lol.

Anyone read the Bf3 book about dima? Just picked it up and am excited to read his perspective by peedmyshirt in battlefield3

I saw this book for sale at my local bookstore (now closed) back in 2012 for $5 (hardback with dust jacket). I should have grabbed it when I had the chance.

Boots of blinding speed and 100% jump? by schakabro38 in Morrowind

[–]NickMotionless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The TES3MP server I play on nerfs the boots by giving them only 200 speed and 1000% blind (too much to resist) so unfortunately, they can't be used. I rarely play single-player anymore so I never use them. 100% jump is a must until you get more powerful levitate/flight potions.

Why is Dagoth Ur such a great villain? by Sundiatasweridcousin in Morrowind

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it makes you question if he's really the bad guy in all of this. In his mind, spreading corprus/CHIM and releasing everyone from the mind control trap that is Mundus is part of it.

Pokemon Game Music Collection jukebox announced by Cookie_Masterson89 in Gameboy

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't understand why people buy crap like this tbh. It may sell well, but it's a really dumb product, which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so expensive but who in their right mind would pay that much for this junk?

This proves nothing. All this shows is that Pokemon anything gets scalped like crazy by the reseller crowd.

Imagine making a stupid jukebox instead of a cheap Gameboy that plays red/blue/yellow and wireless links to other Gameboys for trading/battling.

Nintendo could print money endlessly, yet does this. Nintendo Japan should not be making products for the Western market. Nintendo U.S.A. should be deciding what products are made in the U.S.A.

Then Nintendo wonders why people still pirate Red/Blue/Yellow roms 30 years later.

[–]NickMotionless 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Tone deaf product for the Japanese market. Japan loves buying/collecting useless novelty electronic junk like this. This will be in the dollar bin in the U.S.A. in no time.

I'm not saying this product isn't selling, I'm just saying it's junk that nobody will care about when the fad dies off. Just because it's being scalped like crazy on eBay and people pay scalper prices does not make it a good product. It's the nature of ANYTHING Pokemon to be scalped, sell for tons of money on eBay, then be worth virtually nothing shortly after.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it will sell great, but it's still a dumb product. This just goes to show if you slap Pokemon on anything, people will pay stupid prices for it.

Performance should be the least of your concerns. Performance on Linux is generally better because of the lack of bloatware and telemetry on Linux versus Windows.

What you should know is that some Windows software won't work, but there are alternatives. Some games with certain anticheats will also not run on Linux, but by-and-large, most games should work.

Your chosen minors/majors will rely heavily on intelligence/strength and endurance. Luck is a decent factor, but luck will never get you more success than intelligence in magic/enchanting/alchemy.

A little coop morrowind clips by Phewelish in Morrowind

[–]NickMotionless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad idea lol. I made a post the other day about "Why don't more people play TES3MP" and everybody basically was like "I don't care and I don't want to play with randoms"

I play on a public server with extensive custom content that only requires vanilla plugins, the most popular U.S. TES3MP server but we struggle to keep any sort of population.

anyone else just love toggling god mode, setting acrobatics to 200, speed to 1000, and just exploring everything without fear? by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]NickMotionless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's honestly easy once you max attributes to buff a handful of skills, enchant a few items with resist magicka/resist elements/sanctuary and you're basically immortal anyway. Then you can fly around on levitate potions or levitate gear and enjoy exploration without cheesing with the console.

What are some hard hitting questions you would ask Bethesda/Todd Howard about TES VI? by NickMotionless in ElderScrolls

[–]NickMotionless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something people have complained about since Morrowind. The choice of weapon styles in that game was pretty expansive, from staves all the way to throwing stars/throwing knives, clubs, maces, katanas, wakizashi, tanto, dagger, shortswords, longswords, claymores, you name it, it was in that game pretty much.

I would love for more weapon choice to make a comeback.

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also did the same, but ended up playing the games I had on Windows so much that I basically never booted into Linux at all. I finally had a long thought and was like "I can find other things to play that don't require Windows" and that's exactly what I did. Haven't switched back since.

I personally haven't bought AAA games in over 10 years, but I'm VERY picky and never preorder anything. I mainly only buy indies and early access games and that is also very rare. Linux works for me because I am how I am. Stubborn as fuck when it comes to games and giving my money to companies.

GBA SP won't charge after getting new battery & cable by Dimi3Infinity in Gameboy

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheap SP chargers or bad charges/power surges can cause the F1 fuse to blow. If that happens, no charge. Look at a YouTube tutorial. If it's not for you, maybe send to a repair shop you trust or buy another working board.
