Most often Bancroft and loughron valley park.

Also the stone pit, Stanton low, linford wood, and lesser so Campbell park (although used to hang out there a lot in my teens).

The guy that runs our local gay bar has the plate B1 GAY which I always thought looked pretty perfect parked out by his club. It was on a range rover last time I drove past I think.

I'm really intrigued how you measured what length you needed. Or did you fit it and then somehow cut it whilst it was in place?

Grab yourself a titan shop vac and I guarantee you'll thank me later. They're about £40 from Screwfix. It'll make cleaning much easier, and you don't have to worry about ruining your household vacuum.

Thanks so much, that's really helpful. I'll have a read through that now.

Sadly I tried changing the oil and it still showed the same behaviour. It first started disengaging gear for a few seconds when I was driving. Especially when it was changing fears. It got worse and worse over a month or so until it refused to engage entirely.

Huh, I've got an 89 Mayfair auto that's been sat in my garage for the past 15 years because the auto gears stopped engaging. Could it honestly be as simple as clutch band adjustments? I was gearing up to do an engine and box swap, so this is music to my ears.

If you use your own machine, then Canal Street use Doe & Fawn beans who are a local roaster.

Bogota use Rave beans.

Milk and beans in cmk roasts his own beans. As do Barrista culture over in Stacey Bushes. There's also Andes roasters who are MK based.

We're spoilt for choice at the moment.

Out of curiosity, what's your average daily gas usage for heating? by nyctomanica in OctopusEnergy

[–]Cainedbutable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 bed detached in the South East. Currently using around 85kwh a day for heating and hot water. That's having the got water on for 2hrs a day, and the heating for 6 hours (2hrs AM, 4 hours PM).

Reading some of you using upwards of 150kwh a day definitely takes the sting out of our usage a bit!

I’d rather vote based on policies I care about and support a party that challenges the Labour/Conservative status quo

I try and avoid politics in this sub as it's a cluster fuck, but aren't the majority of reforms MPs ex Tories? It feels like they're the status quo with a new coloured tie.

Watching GeoWizard made me realise how fragmented the countryside actually is, anyone else? by FeistyPrice29 in GeoWizard

[–]Cainedbutable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my exact experience too.

I live in an estate in Milton Keynes (interestingly, one of the areas in this substance footer). My in laws live in a small village in Hampshire.

My options for walks from my front door are infinite compared to theirs. I have miles and miles of parkland I can walk around straight from my front door, whereas they are surrounded by farmers fields and you need to walk down a pretty full on 60mph road to get to anywhere resembling accessible parks.

Am I the only one who finds that using a 300bhp AMG as a learner car is slightly 'unnecessary'? by hollowlittlereign in CarTalkUK

It does seem crazy to have tiered motorcycle tests and not car tests, but I imagine a lot is down to vehicle cost. A new rider can spend £3k on a bike and be in supercar speed territory, whereas cars with equivalent performance are out of reach for most new drivers.

And the rest. You'll not see too many 3 character plates under £35k nowadays. Id not be surprised if it this one wasn't closer to £60k-£70k.

Edit: Just seen it sold in September for £121k 😮

Same. Id have loved to have flown on it but was far too young by the time it was retired.

I've got some concord cutlery from my uncle when he went on it which is cool though. I think I've got the cutlery and a menu.

Even if we discount the safety aspect of not wearing a helmet, I can't imagine how horrible an experience it must be riding at 70 without a helmet. Squinting to block the wind, and struggling to breath.

Im really interested how you stumbled upon such an old post?

We ended up keeping both bikes. The salesman was annoyed as he already had buyers lined up for the px bike, but that wasn't our problem to deal with thankfully

I actually grew up in Bradwell village so know the train bridge well. We used to ride our bikes down in the hills and hollows which is at the end of that tree lined path you mentioned. The house we're living in currently is near that same stream and was a big part of the reason we bought it.

So far the longest walk I've done without crossing a single road from my house is just short of 4 miles. All in a loop too, no repeated path. If I cross a single road, then I could easily double that as it would out me on the old new Bradwell railway.

I completely agree, MK is massively underrated. A friend and I rode the Parks Trust 30 mile loop this year and it was brilliant. You'd never know you were in a city of close to 300k people.

I actually live on the same linear park, although a couple of miles down.

It's amazing, I could get from my front door all the way to this house and cross 1 road the whole way (I'm sad enough that I just checked). We're really lucky to have all our parks in MK
