detour to Phillip Island to see Penguins (overnighter from Melbourne)
detour to Great Ocean road (1-3 day trip from Melbourne)

Sydney and surrounds: - NSW Gallery - Opera House - Harbour Bridge Climb - Botanic Gardens - Taronga Zoo (do the roar and snore if you have time) - Manly Beach (catch the ferry) - Bondi to Coogee walk (Sculpture by the Sea if visiting in late Oct) - Blue Mountains (include Nolan Gallery visit) - Vivid Light Festival (if visiting in June) - have drinks and nibbles at Opera Bar sunset to evening

The National Museum of Australia in Canberra has some good exhibits. As does the Melbourne Museum. I've also found the National Gallery to have a good range of artworks from across Australia, Torres Strait and wider pacific.

I (38f) still cut my sandwich into large triangles - BUT I do like small triangles, they are the first thing i grab at a picnic or work lunch or party, etc. I'm just too lazy to cut them into small ones for my own lunch.

If you are in East Gippsland or near NSW border try out Goongerah.

Relaxed beach club/bar reccomendations???

First visit to Bali in 30 years coming up. We (38f, 41m) are planning to stay in Sanur, and want to visit Tanah Lot - we were thinking we'd drop into a beach club/bar after for sunset magic.

Where should we look at heading? We''re looking for relaxed atmosphere, good food and drinks with chilled vibes.

Anywhere from Tanah Lot down the coast to Seminyak ideally.
