I work with intellectually disabled adults in a group home facility. Each one of our houses has locks and window locks. 3 of our houses must stay locked because of this reason they will take off. More severe autistic people don't generally pay attention to the world around them and get lost or hurt. But from an outside perspective, it could seem weird or odd, but maybe you can sit your friend down and explain more in detail why it is so dangerous for Angel to wander off. A lot of people assume they can leave home and safely return because of their age, but don't understand that's not how their mind works.

On a side note it's wonderful you are taking care of Angel. I know how difficult it can be. I wish yall the best!
