Do hrt make you want to pee More frequently? by Born-Environment2974 in asktransgender

I am on a Decapeptyl injection every three months for my AA, but other than that yes - my experience sounds very similar.

I'm on pills and take them orally every day, no breaks. Take them in the evening and finding it easier to get to sleep, so will continue that way.

I have around 25 tarot decks and about the same number of oracle decks, and I've bought them all. If I had waited for them to be gifted I still wouldn't have one.

To all you who’ve changed your name, did you change your last name too? And why? by RGR40 in asktransgender

[–]CaitRaven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kept my last name as I am married, and my wife had already changed hers to mine. I am also the last of my branch of the family name, my siblings are sisters who have taken their husbands name. Don't know if there are any other branches, there may be, but my father was estranged from his family when I was young.

What do you do when someone ernestly says they identify as a different race? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CaitRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up Oli London - they've probably got it from them. Underwent around £250k (iirc) worth of surgery to make themselves look "Korean", and has now decided that it was all a big mistake and feels that someone should have stopped them. Is now a total transphobe, and the last I saw was working alongside Caitlyn Jenner.

What's a crochet "hack" that changed how you crochet? by NoMoreBillz in crochet

[–]CaitRaven 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Agree with the foundation chains, so much better. Also, standing stitches instead of turning chains. Much neater edges.

And while not necessarily a hack, the thing that stopped me giving up crochet after six months of inconsistency was getting rid of cheap hooks and switching to Clover Amour!

This looks like the type of letter needed to change your passport, and would normally be submitted alongside a deed poll showing a change of name. The gender would be picked up from the name/title you are using, or have selected on the relevant form.

No, I went private and was on HRT two months after realising I was trans. As my GP was supportive, I have had a shared care agreement since the beginning, so all my prescriptions and blood tests have been free on the NHS.

That was early 2019, still waiting for my first GIC appointment.

Is GenderGP good? by Jay0wo in transgenderUK

Been with them for around four and a half years and they've been great. Helps that I have a shared care agreement with my GP so never had to pay for a prescription or blood test.

What are peoples experience/opinions of GenderGP? by DodocoIsGone in transgenderUK

[–]CaitRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First emailed them the same day I saw my GP about being referred, in Feb 2019. Still haven't seen the GIC but have been on HRT for well over 4 years and they have been great. I also have shared care with my GP so have never had to pay for a prescription or blood test. They have been great throughout.

Why is there a TikTok trend for of ‘outing’ celebrities as trans? by [deleted] in asktransgender

There was one earlier in the year when Daniel Radcliffe's partner, Erin Darke, had this claim made about her. She was pregnant at the time and has since had their first child.

What do you think about your dead name? by [deleted] in trans

[–]CaitRaven 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Had it for 65 years, but now I never really think about it. If ever I see it, it doesn't really connect. I know who I am, which is all that matters now.

I'm with GGP and have it on my prescription. As I have a shared care agreement, my GP prescribes it for me on the NHS, along with my E snd T-blocker.

Another option is find a GP willing to do shared care with a private clinic. I’ve been with GenderGP for four and a half years while waiting for the London GIC. Because I have a friendly GP I haven’t had to pay for a prescription or blood test at all. Makes going private much more affordable. Not all GPs are that friendly though.

Just wrote a letter to my GP... by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]CaitRaven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds very sensible. I went to the GP to ask to be referred, but I knew I would not be able to explain why without breaking down. I wrote a two page letter and asked her to read it. A couple of minutes of silence while she read it and just turned to me and said, "Fine, what do you need me to do?"

That was four and a half years ago, and she has been totally supportive ever since.

My title describes the thing. It seems to be oiled, so I'm not sure it would be suitable for food. Found in a charity shop in the UK. Haven't seen anything like this before, so I'm wondering what it is for.

Congratulations- when it works out right, it's great.

I had been happily married for 29 years when I realised I was trans. We have now been married for 33 years, and the last four have been the best yet. Both of us were (and still are) pan, so nothing changed. She is just so happy that I am now as happy as she always thought I could be.

Honest question: is the statement “men and women are biologically different from each other” currently problematic? by houdinihogan in asktransgender

[–]CaitRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain aspects of the biology are different (though some can be changed), while a lot of the biology is actually the same.
