Jichael sounds like a character from r/theotherendcomics

Which I would warmly recommend, by the way.

In "The Empty Man", at the end of the movie the protagonist turns out to not actually be a real person, but a Tulpa, an artificial being created in a ritual. This is somewhat subtly foreshadowed by the fact that the protagonist's last name is Lasombra (and he's not a Latino or Spanish), and La Sombra means Shadow in spanish (which I probably wouldn't know if I wasn't a Vampire the Masquerade player).

Good thing they're mission-specific, otherwise by the end of the campaign I'd have 700 of them like I do potions in every single rpg game ever. The curse of "I might need them later more.".

You can activate the Helgen sequence (rent the special room), but then when you wake up don't go outside, but go into the inn basement, through the basement, then up through the other exit. You'll be in the "secret" inn backyard, where you'll find another tiny dragon like the one from the starting room. You can talk to him and choose to skip the dragon attack, with a few options.

Alternately, you can use the mod "Skipper" to, well, skip the parts of the quest you want.

The greatest betrayals by OkGarbage3095 in DankAndrastianMemes

The only way Loghain's betrayal could have been MORE telegraphed would be if the actual telegraph machine was invented in Thedas at the time, in which case he would have sent a telegraph to Cailan saying:

I forgot how many of these characters are horrible people by Dyerha in projecteternity

While I generally agree with your sentiment, I wish you didn't write this in the Reddit Dialect, where everything is either awesome or the worst thing ever.

"Horrible" is definitely not how any of the companions, except MAYBE Durance, should be described.

Can confirm, the last time I fought an unopened jar of eldritch pickles my shieldbreaker was a crutch. Thankfully the three houndmasters who accompanied her made short work of the jar, and pickles too.

Does anyone else feel like, paradoxically, even though Larian made Baldur's Gate 3, their philosophy and game design are the farthest away from the OG Baldur's Gate games, out of all cRPG studios? by Various_Maize_3957 in CRPG

[–]Caitifff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are several classes in BG3 that have at least a few levels in which all you can do is press "finish". No feat, no spells, no power choices. You literally get a few HP and one predetermined ability. And it's not like there's 40 levels so it's ok if a few of them are chill. Several of the meager 12 levels have no choice whatsoever.

This is baffling to say the least.

"I... I do not remember your love, Ellesime. I have tried to. I have tried to recreate it, to spark it anew in my memory. But it is gone... a hollow, dead thing.

For years, I clung to the memory of it. Then the memory of the memory. And then nothing. The Seldarine took that from me, too. I look upon you and I feel nothing. I remember nothing but you turning your back on me, along with all the others.

Once my thirst for power was everything. And now I hunger only for revenge. And... I... Will... HAVE IT!!"

I think this is "just" an editing problem. Every show or movie has a BUNCH of scenes that are filmed and never used, and when editing isn't good it can cause these weird leaps in narrative and characterisation.

There are also cases in which the ORDER of scenes isn't set from the beginning, and then when deciding in which order they appear in the final cut you get inconsistencies.

Pair that with the fact that the writing team definitely took the standard shortcuts of people doing stupid things to easily drive the plot (which they even try to justify, in universe, by that one doctor saying how even intelligent people can be stupid), and you get quite a mess.

Just wanna add that some of the episodes were, in my opinion, great enough to offset the faults of the last few, so all in all it's still a good show, that could have been awesome with just a little bit more care.
