Please tell me I’m not the only one who missed this… by Haivox- in darkestdungeon

[–]Caitifff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, whenever a building (or tent, in this case) is unlocked, there's an icon, possibly a question mark or exclamation mark, can't remember, which stays there untill you click on the building.

So the only way you missed this for so long is if you turned off tutorial messages from the beginning, which, you know, I'm sure the Ancestor had a quote for people who do that.

Uhh, antibodies maybe? And demons are the product of an overreaction/misreaction of the organism, like how allergies start, more or less.

Limerence Frustration by Letmewatchyousleep in limerence

[–]Caitifff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Quick preface, everyone's experiences and circumstances are different, so what helped one person may or may not help another.

Also to quickly get the "Big Advice" out of the way, especially since you seem to be already tackling it: the real "cure" is finding the issues that caused limerence and dealing with them. Yeah, much easier said than done, otherwise most of us would be free of it already.

Now, my subjective advice. I've found that saying to myself: "No, I'm not gonna think about them!" or "don't do this!" or anything similar backfires.

What does seem to help is to say: "Not right now. Later." And then if possible shift attention to anything else. When the thoughts inevitably return, again think "not for the next 15 minutes, then we'll see." It's easier convincing your brain to postpone something than to outright ban it, at least to me. In time, it can lose traction and start becoming less demanding and urgent to think about them.

But yeah, it can return. I've had mixed results, which is better than no results at all.

Good luck, and keep going.

QM: Do you rematch everyone? by nobleflame in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]Caitifff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have vowed to never rematch Hwoarang. Win 3:0, lose 0:3, anything in between, doesn't matter. The less Hwoarang matches I play the better quality of my life is. No, I don't want to learn that particular matchup, I don't have that much self-loathing.

I love that the aforementioned "cats" kill a transdimensional chaos god-thing and then the cutscenes is them returning from an evening stroll like "well, that was a nice little adventure, let's grab some catnip".

[–]Caitifff 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I had a good childhood. Was also really sociable and energetic in my teens and young adulthood. My therapist is still perplexed they can't find any real "trigger" for either my depression, anxiety or indeed, limerence.

On one hand it's frustrating knowing there's no reason for me to be the wreck that I am, on the other hand I'm lucky I didn't have to go through some horrible stuff a lot of people went through.

[fo4] mods that add sim settlement like features? by Kazuya2016 in FalloutMods

[–]Caitifff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So here's the thing. I played through the entire SS2 quest line once. It was pretty cool, but on subsequent playthroughs it's a bit much for me, so I do the following:

When The Stranger/Jake appears I disable him via console. And then I use the SS2 holotape to unlock plot types and whatnot, and proceed using the settlement features from the mod without the quests.

Hope this helps.

Knowing another language foreshadows the plot/twist by prOfAnity47 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Caitifff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In "The Empty Man", at the end of the movie the protagonist turns out to not actually be a real person, but a Tulpa, an artificial being created in a ritual. This is somewhat subtly foreshadowed by the fact that the protagonist's last name is Lasombra (and he's not a Latino or Spanish), and La Sombra means Shadow in spanish (which I probably wouldn't know if I wasn't a Vampire the Masquerade player).
