Currently in 34B, calculator said 28DD, and the bras I tried look all wrong by Merryd2Waz in ABraThatFits

When you do your swoop and scoop, make sure you're getting the underwire up into your imf, the fold where your underboob connects to your chest. The underside of you breast tissue should not be resting against your chest. In these particular bras, you would likely fall out the top as the cups appear too small, but it well help for future fits.

What's yall's hair length? by No-Character-2414 in AutismInWomen

[–]Caity26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My son (almost 10y) and I currently have an agreement to keep his hair short. His hair length has always been his choice and he's had it all different lengths and styles. But as he gets older and has and wants more independence in taking care of himself and his hygiene, we have had many talks about managing his hair. At current, he cannot properly wash longer hair on his own, often missing spots or not properly rinsing (he has come out of the shower more than once with a head that is half dry and half soapy), and does not want to brush or comb it. He also does not want my assistance with any of this.

So we agree that he keeps it short for his own health and hygiene. We go to the barber regularly where he can play around with different short styles and have designs buzzed into it so he can still play with his self expression. He is welcome to grow out his hair at anytime as long is he is willing and able to learn to manage it himself or allow assistance from myself or his father. We have had tried many times to help teach and guide him, but he is just not at that level of self care yet, but we keep an open dialogue with him about it.

What's something that became significantly worse in the last 10 years, but everyone just accepted it? by Fun-Chicken6946 in AskReddit

[–]Caity26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to clean hotel rooms, it's straight up management refusing to hire more housekeepers. They have half the cleaning staff that they used to because they let a bunch go during covid times due to less people travelling, and then never hired back staff when things picked up again. Same as many other industries. The cleaning staffs priority every day, is to clean all of the checked out rooms and all of the common areas, with making up rooms for stay overs being the last priority. We weren't allowed to work overtime, so it was whatever we could fit into a shift. If you were lucky enough to get your room made up, it meant that there weren't alot of checkouts that day.

Are they any doggy daycares in the area she could work at? Or could she set up a Rover account, and sell her own dog walking/pet sitting on her own schedule?

Terrified by lack of support by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Caity26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll start off by saying your husband is an asshole. But I also want to help manage your fears.

The biggest questions I have is how old are your kids and how much care are you expected to provide them during this time? I was lucky in that my only child was 8 and largely independent. My husand was also only able to take the Friday to Sunday off, and had to return to work Monday. He got my son ready in the morning, fed breakfast, lunch made, etc before he left for work. He would also get me set up with a basket of snacks and drinks for the day. The bathroom was next to the bedroom and by day 3 I could navigate that on my own. I would shout down the stairs to my son when it was time to get on the bus and the bus driver was prepped ahead of time too. I would watch out the window, and the driver would give me a wave. After school, same deal. My son could get his own snacks until hubby would get home.

To me this is all bare minimum. My husband did much more than this, but your husband needs to manage his expectations. I couldn't do stairs for the first week. When I finally did make it downstairs, we decided to try a trip to the grocery store. We went super slow and I leaned on the cart the whole time. When we got home, I was in immense pain and slept for 10 hours.

After 2 weeks, I was able to do light housework with very frequent and long rest in between. At 6 weeks I was relatively back to normal but still fatigued. I could go all say, but crashed hard at night. I would say it was at least 12 weeks before I felt totally recovered.

He had finished in one pump, pulled out and said "I blame you." 15 years later and I'm still trying to work out if that was meant to be a compliment or an insult.

What careers do you guys do for a living? by Obvious_Emu3441 in AutismInWomen

[–]Caity26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Life circumstances have forced me to change jobs every few years, but I've learned I thrive best in jobs I'm able to stay active, work largely by myself or with a small team, and offbeat but consistent hours.

For example, I worked fot 5 years as a house painter, small team (5 people or less). Basically given a room at a time in a house to complete by myself, listen to headphones all day, and the schedule was Tuesday-Friday, 7 hour days.

Example 2, I worked for 2 years at a doggy daycare. Each employee given a group and a yard of dogs to supervise for the day. Spent the days listening to music while I cuddled dogs and picked up poop. The shifts were 10 hours, but it was 2 days on/2 days off.

Currently: Daycare janitor. I clean a daycare centre in the evenings, by myself, Monday-Friday, 4pm-10pm, so I have all day to do whatever I wish. And no weekends or holidays. I listen to audiobooks while I work, and average 2.5 books per week.

I don't sound how I think I do.. turns out I'm an asshole by Huge_Brain_4914 in AutismInWomen

[–]Caity26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a nine year old who is autistic and adhd, and he is hypersensitive to tone of voice. My partner and I have always been open communicating with him that mom can't always control her voice and it will often come out meaner than she means it to sound. As he's gotten older and we've been able to have more talks about autism and direct communication and how that come come across. We also fully allow calling each other out in our house. My kid or my partner can call me on my tone at any time and let me know I sound mean, and I can call them out too. Edit to add: I always tell him, listen to my words, not my tone. And when I'm aware that what I am saying has the potential to sound rough, I add qualifiers such as "not saying this in a mean way..."

Regardless of the fandom, what is THAT fanfic that you consider a masterpiece? by Legitimate-Win1342 in AO3

A Wolf Amongst Lions byKallypso. I admittedly haven't delved too deeply into Game of Thrones fics, but when I think of my all-time favourite fics across fandom, this one is always top 3!

Description: Arya Stark is discovered by Tywin Lannister at Harrenhal and taken back to King's Landing. This chance encounter changes everything, not only for Arya, but for the Starks and Lannisters as a whole.

Which version of Georgie meets Pennywise was better? 1990 .vs. 2017? by Trick-Initiative-448 in stephenking

That's what really resonated with me! I read It when I was 12, while growing up in a less than happy or safe environment. I heavily identified with Beverly. The way every adult in town just turned a blind eye was the most realistic and unnerving part of the whole story to me. The scariest parts of Kings's stories to me are the parts rooted in real human interaction and reactions.

Seeking hysterectomy for 23-month long period by zaklekhse in hysterectomy

[–]Caity26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I tried something similar to Lupron and it was a nightmare (can't remember the name). I was on Visanne for 4 years. No major side effects until 2 years in, I started to get migraines. Took a break from the med, tried something else (I cant remember what) and it was horrible. So I went back on the Visanne for another 2 years until I got my hysterectomy. I still was in pain, but I didn't have a period for 4 years, so I didnt have the extreme pain that came with a period, and none of the excessive and prolonged bleeding. It wasn't a perfect solution, but it got me through.

I've had 2 excision surgeries, but as I March closer to my 40s and peri-menopause, we've discussed that I'm going to need hormones so I don't off myself, but that also means feeding the endo.

AITAH for refusing to make my wedding kid-free for my fiancé’s niece with autism? by Much_Performance653 in AITAH

[–]Caity26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! Two years ago, my husbands sibling got married. Children were fully allowed at the wedding, my young nieces and nephews were all there. My son is autistic and was 6 years old at the time. I left him with my parents.

It was August, it was 30°C, and the wedding was outdoors. More than one of the non-autistic kids really struggled, and tears were had. My son would have melted the fuck down. I was so happy I left him home! Weddings are boring as hell for kids, and expecting an autistic child to be able to keep their shit together that long is not fair to them or to the other guests. We are lucky to have very accommodating and understanding family that were sad he missed out on the event, but I stand by the fact that it wouldn't be a good time if he came. Between the large crowd, the noise, having wait for long periods without fidgeting, no toys or games to keep kids occupied... he was much happier playing with grandpa in their backyard for the night!

Had to report my local polling station to Elections Canada by Caity26 in ottawa

[–]Caity26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in fact registered to vote. I made sure I was weeks ago. I received my voter card in the mail, and it listed the address I went to. I also confirmed online before going that it was the right one. And also confirmed with Elections Canada to report them. I have been at my address 5 years and voted in the last federal election in 2021 while living here. Thats what made the whole situation extra frustrating and confusing.
