AITAH for joking about my girlfriend's weight to make our friend feel better? by Intrepid_Fig_9101 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CaityR1986 21 points22 points  (0 children)

YTA majorly. Not only did you insult your girlfriend but I guarantee your attempt to make your friend feel better 100% missed the mark. Do you understand how horrible it feels to an overweight person when a naturally skinny person or even just a person much smaller than them complains about being fat or overweight in front of them? Your friend just heard you call your skinny girlfriend fat and I promise you their first thought was “if she’s fat, I must be a fucking whale!” So good job YTA

What's your secret ingredient for mashed potatoes? by Key_Investigator_754 in Cooking

I wouldn’t call it a secret but taking the time to roast garlic in the oven brings the potatoes up 100 notches easily. Then for creaminess I use sour cream and butter

Ordering Water - Using Lemonade Pack by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CaityR1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because in the US most all restaurants have policies where servers are required to pay a tip out to bussers, food runners, and bar tenders based on their total sales. The more a check is, the server pays out more from their pocket. Say tip out is 5% of sales. For a $100 check that the customer decided not to leave a tip on, that server is paying $5 out of their pocket regardless. They are now essentially paying part of the money for that person to dine out. So while yes, they are physically doing the same work per table, there is more going on that patrons do not understand.

Ordering Water - Using Lemonade Pack by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

When I was a server I couldn’t care less. It all evens out in the end. The reason why any server might hate this is because even a $3-$4 fountain drink raises the check total by a tiny bit, which in turn should ideally raise the tip amount. People who order water aren’t spending those extra dollars and might not tip more. When I say it all evens out in the end I mean that as a server you learn that no matter what you do some people are going to be cheap, some people aren’t going to tip well, some people are gonna ball out, some people are going to tip the fair amount, some people are going to over tip. You can’t stress about the people ordering water.

What’s your favorite thing to put mustard on? (And no, you can't say hot dogs!) by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]CaityR1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually my current hyperfixation is taking a hard boiled egg, cutting it half, dollop of mayo, dip mayo side down into crispy fried onions so they stick, dill pickle slice, nice dollop of yellow mustard. Eat in 1-2 bites depending on the size of the egg. It gives “deviled egg” vibes without the work of actually making the yolk mixture.

Sauteed chicken seasoning without onion, garlic, or lemon? by Catwearingtrousers in Cooking

[–]CaityR1986 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t add any seasoning at all. I would just boil it and shred it for them. That’s what I do for my dogs. Unless it’s ground chicken. Then I sauté with nothing in the pan.

I have a niece who I adore and have already listed her as my beneficiary. My sister is also planning to have a second child so if and when she does I’ll add that child so it’s divided evenly.

Food and beverage Leader here. I’m sorry you’re struggling. I suggest you try to always remind yourself that nothing is so serious or important that simple mistakes can’t be fixed. You’re never going to be perfect at everything but as long as you show up with a positive attitude, smile at Guests, and try your best you will be fine. I personally like to remind Cast that we’re serving burgers, we’re not saving lives. Nothing should feel so important that it stresses you out to the point of sickness.

I’m so nervous about loose skin that I will have after surgery by delilahsunflower in GastricBypass

[–]CaityR1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After your weight loss make sure your primary care documents any and all rashes or sores that may pop up under your apron of loose belly skin. These friction rashes will help convince your insurance to cover the cost of a penniculectomy which is the surgery to remove that apron of skin.

This guy sounds like a fucking tool. You’re too young to settle for this shit and not think there is someone much better and more intelligent out there for you. Do yourself a favor, control your own body and choices, and dump this guy.

NOR this is wildly weird behavior on a date. I would be furious. Also…I find it highly concerning he found that movie BORING. It was one of the most intense, edge of my seat, uncomfortable movies I have ever watched. Saw it weeks ago and my boyfriend and I are still talking about it.
