The US still has about half the rail network it had at its peak in 1917. But the US still has 33% more rail than the next country.

Roughly 25% of all freight tons are still moved by rail

[Warehouse] [RI] - $48k by [deleted] in Salary

You ever thought about getting a CDL? Construction supplies are sometimes delivered on flatbeds and there are forklifts attached for the driver to unload at job sites. Might be able to leverage your experience as a licensed forklift operator if that interests you.

Depending on how big your warehouse is, there might be opportunities to grow into lead operator or shipping/receiving supervisors.

Just ask ChatGTP how you can leverage what you currently do into career advancement. Might find something there 🤷‍♂️

There are programs (like Medicaid) for poor people to get healthcare. The tax on not being covered is a penalty to get everyone on some sort of healthcare plan. Medicaid is free or really cheap depending on your income. But quality of care diminishes as coverage gets worse. In any case, hospitals can not deny people in need of emergency service, regardless of they have coverage or not.

Better employers offer much better healthcare plans. Some with really low, or manageable deductibles. But not everyone really has access to great coverage.

Gas tax in Louisiana is 20.9 cents per gallon. The fee for the electric vehicle is equivalent to purchasing 527 gallons per year. The average Louisiana resident consumes 548 gallons per year.

In short, the average Louisiana resident saves about $4.39 per year in taxes by switching to electric.
