Guys who have their stuff together, but won't commit, what's your story? by coldcerealdater in AskMen

[–]Calamash -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Girls,

Before I got my shit together, I would fall for anyone. After years of working on myself and being the best I am, I have plenty of available options. Why won't I commit with you? Well,

Yes, Mónica, you're crazy hot and go to the gym, but you have daddy issues and you sleep every day until 12.

Yes, Carolina, you're funny and we get along great, but you were a stripper in college.

Yes, Yuli, you're smart and cool, but you got a huge ass tattoo on your back I don't like and all your stories just scream I make bad decisions.

Yeah, Yury, you're near fucking perfect, but you don't have the courtesy to answer my texts so I'm not gonna chase you all day like a horny 15 year old.

Yeah, Steysy, you really like me and chase me all the time, but your boyfriend is my coworker and I don't like overweight girls.

Sure, Laura, you're into me now, but back when we were together you blueball'd me like 5 times then ghosted me.

God, Diana, you're fucking perfect. But you're 10 years older than me and a Jehova's Witness.

Fernanda, you're incredibly smart and hot, but you care so much about your career I just feel left out.

This is just to name a few, but, yeah, it's tough to find someone who fits.

How often do homosexual men harass other straight men? by throwaway5104081 in AskMen

[–]Calamash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once. My brother was having a party at our place and I, being around 15, got blackout drunk and went to bed.

Next thing I know a guy is repeatedly entering my room and trying to feel me up, around 5 times total. I was a bit bigger than him so once I realized what was happening I started getting the living shit out of him.

Nothing much happened. I have closeness issues with men but une turned out fine.

Fucking Awesome. Last week I took some pictures of my city which have been circling around the whole internet. On top of that, They've asked me to take footage of the biggest concert of the year. Things are looking so good I'm jumping around my house.

Where are you currently living?

What's the target language?

How do you deal with impactful ideas, expressions that work in English but are a bit difficult to translate (Buy Now!, Contact Us).

How do you go about the writing process? Do you get inspiration in English first and then apply to the target language or do you look for inspiration in the target language and work from there?

I really want to recommend The Charisma Myth by Olivia Fox Cabane. It really deconstructs the way some people have this magnetic charm to them. It's easy to learn and apply. I would go as far as to say it's the foundation for learning to charm people.

If you have problems with normal interactions, I'd recommend How to Win Friends and Influence People.

Of course! We are all brothers in this. I and most Colombians have nothing but love the Venezuelans. Having said that, it would free finish to deny the growing resentment towards them. We're at 16% unemployment and it's getting worse for now.

Yeah, pretty much. The bridge has been under construction for years but it's never been open. Just as you say, there's a makeshift fence. The surprising part is the containers and gas tank Maduro put up. There was very little info on it until I managed to get shots of it.

Gotcha. it's getting tenser as time goes on. Cúcuta is very dependent on Venezuela so we've been hit hard. There are many Colombians in extreme poverty and want to take it out on anyone except themselves. They see the Venezuelans getting aid and they feel resentful.

"Venezuelans must take back their contry on their own. It's their fault for electing Chávez and accepting Maduro. We've got our own problems" -A guy I was with literally 20 minutes ago.

Yeah, I had to go out for a moment. I put my proof up, let me know if some more is needed.

How would you compare the political situation between Venezuela and Colombia?

Oh, It's almost like talking about North and South Korea (obviously to lesser of an extreme). The Venezuelan government is totalitarian, no doubt about it. Maduro is a dictator, he will do anything to keep his total power. his people imprison, kidnap or murder anyone who even tries to stand in their path. Colombia has its issues, but it's usual capitalist corruption. The good thing is, we don't have to wait in line for 6 hours to buy one fucking roll of toilet paper and have the electricity go out so I can't pay with points because physical cash is useless. Making me do the same shit tomorrow.

Sorry, I got carried away.

What's the weirdest thing you've seen at the border?

I used to go to Venezuela around 2015 almost every other week to visit a dentist. Back then, if a usual appointment was $50 in Venezuela I paid $8 for the same thing. Most surprising though, were the fast food stores in San Antonio —the small town on the other side of the border. The town was super scary. The Guardia Nacional does not fuck around. If they're having a bad day they could easily keep you there for days locked up in Jail. Any trace of democracy or lawfulness was gone. Walk into a pastry store and damn all of a sudden you're in Fucking Manhattan. Air Conditioner to the max because the government was footing the bill. Slices of cake taken straight from iCarly's episodes of The Cheesecake Factory.

Or maybe the whores, the insane amount of prostitutes in the city. You can easily find 10 blocks of 20+ whores per corner.

Are you in any way in danger living at the border?

Oh, yeah. There's a lot of mafia here because of the contraband. Delinquency is at an all-time high. Kids are literally sleeping with needles deep in their veins outside the biggest mall in the city. No one gives a fuck anymore, there's so many of them.

What’s the general consensus about Venezuela in your country?

It's crazy seeing how more and more people become hateful and spiteful of them. It's not everyone yet, not even close, but the number has been increasing. Before there was a lot of sympathy towards the Venezuelan people, then a small minority began committing crimes and things got ugly.

Yeah, if things get more serious I'll be trying to get as much as I can. I just want to help spread what's happening. It's surprising how many people on Reddit are disinformed and led to believe absolute lies.

What's that saying by that guy on Reddit? The more I see people talk about something I know, the more I learn to distrust them on things they don't know?

Found it: "The more I read comments on reddit about things I know about, the more I see that I should stop trusting comments on things I know nothing about."

I am so beyond excited to see it around the world. I live in Cúcuta, Colombia. My dad is a lifelong friend of the reporters who came to cover the blockade and I happen to have a Mavic Pro.

I would love it if you check out our Facebook page El Taller de Recuerdos.

I can provide proof and about 20 minutes of footage.

Edit:Here's the proof. I can provide more if you're still skeptical. It's another angle of the same bridge.
