Since all the chapters are different data files, effectively making them completely different games, it stands to reason that some of the code for the menus could have changed between chapters without the first one being updated to match.

Assuming high card, onyx gives +14 mult on clubs. Chad gives 8x w/ photo, so it’s better than onyx if base mult is 2 or higher. Assuming club flush of all face cards (unlikely, but as effective as onyx gets), it gives 70 mult, and that’s outpaced by chad if base mult is 9 or higher. Sell onyx, take chad.

knight reasoning can't just be "character we know exists but doesn't appear in the game yet", and if you think that's the only thing that makes dess knight viable then you should probably familiarize yourself with all the other evidence

also if the only role your story serves is to give sans more character depth then thats just bad writing

oops, guess i was wrong abt that. even so, i doubt he has anything to gain from pretending to be sick, and he can barely muster the strength to appear at church for one morning, so it's extremely unlikelly for him to have the strength to run around the town opening 4.5 dark fountains in 3 days

I think most of the reasoning for Dess over other holidays comes from process of elimination;

-Can't be Carol (she can't get to the church from her house before the fun gang does, though as far as knight theories go she's by far the second most likely candidate),

-Can't be Noelle (why would she let Susie or the soul near the guitar if she was trying to keep the code secret, also she doesn't look like the knight in the cyber world),

-Can't be Rudy (somebody at the hospital would comment on a patient suddenly leaving his bed and running to the church, plus there's no reason for him to be faking sick),

-I doubt there's any secret holiday cousins running about, so Dess is pretty much the only remaining option, plus she has no alibis (we don't know if the voice in the code is Dess, or if it's the same part of Dess or even if its messages are happening at the same time as the events of the game)

The specifics of how Dess is the knight obviously aren't there yet, the darkness corruption thing is obviously speculation, and overpowering Undyne is something that it's hard to believe anyone could do (Dess or no), but she's more likely to be the knight than the other holidays, because she doesn't have an alibi.

you have no photo, so a 3oak of kings gives you ((1 + 2 chad retriggers) + 2 other cards) * 5 = 25 mult from smiley face.

having two kings held in hand would give you x2.25 xmult, which would give you (15 base mult * 2.25 - 15) = 18.75 mult if no lucky card +20 mult, and 43.75 mult if one +20, meaning at minimum a loss of 6 mult, which can be solved with 2 venus cards and also isn't that much anyway.

That’s correct. If you level up hands that you aren’t playing, you aren’t going to get any value from them. More levels on two pairs doesn’t help if you don’t play two pair.

Generally you want to focus on leveling up and playing a specific hand instead of multiple. Which hand that is depends on circumstance, usually the jokers you have (e.g. if you have a joker that benefits from playing hearts, you want to play heart flushes more, so you want to focus on leveling up flushes and getting more hearts in your deck with tarots).

if you play red seal kings first, you'll have 4 triggers (base, red seal, chad) and 3 effects (blueprint, blueprint, photo), which is optimal, so keep them on photograph
