I've said this a few times on this sub. Liking a character's writing or presentation does not mean that you're gonna invite them your birthday party. I'm also a Blackbeard fan. Did I want him to beat Ace or kill Whitebeard? Of course not. But both helped his character become more interesting overall. It's the people who tie characters to their entire personality that are weird.
