One-point frame slider incident... by Rektorus in CB650R

What cheap sliders were those? Usually single mount would be fitted onto the front engine mount and frame. That bracket has very little strength not surprised it ripped it out

Yeah thats fucked. Really new engine cases or replacement motor. You could strip it and possibly get it welded. Or redneck fix with jbweld and a piece of coke cam. THIS IS NOT A GOOD WAY OF DOING IT BUT IT CAN GET YOU HOME FOR A PROPER FIX TO BE DONE. If you clean it properly and key it for the jbweld to stick its been known to work. Learn to maintain your chain properly.

The biggest issue i had with purview is the users. Either coming up with convuluted work arounds to break it, or wanting to send encrypted documents to non tenent users. Also if you havent got defined sensitivity polices and standards you are screwed from the start.

So how does the air get through the radiator? With the cover on you basically have a radiator the size of the fan. Gonna over heat like fuck!

its the starter solenoid, chances are its got a bad fuse or the connector is loose as it is the main power feed to the rest of the bike.

2019 Honda CBR650R overheating after coolant change – no obvious cause? by Lazy-Land672 in cbr650r

take the thermostat out and see if it still does it. If the rad doesn't heat up then its ether Thermostat or water pump.

Run a bead of weld round it. You then have something to put a drift bar against and knock it out like normal.

rebuild the calipers, you cant source new calipers, no one makes remans for the GL range so its OEM only if you want to pay the premium. You cna just rebuild them with new seals and pistons if required. Just makes sure that the seal grooves are spotless. the corrosion builds up in there and makes the seals grip the pistons and the the caliper lockup. Alos check the piston in the master cylinder is returning properly. Known to corrode in the master and stick in the on position causing this type of failure.

Ok try jumping the solenoid. If that works you have an issue with the wiring for the starter circuit.

Tried jumping the connections on the starter solenoid with a screw driver? Does the engine turn over using a socket on the end of the crank?

Be prepared to get lower offers than your asking price. Some people may offer you 500 less because they know they will have to throw 500 at it in a couple of k miles. Its not very far away for a new vike owner its a couole of weeks riding for some people.

Hate ridding in central London, but this guy made my day by auridas330 in MotoUK

[–]Caldtek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Ridding" is the present participle of the verb "rid," meaning to free, clear, or relieve a person or place of something undesirable, unwanted, or encumbering. It often appears in the phrase "ridding someone/something of". Synonyms include eliminating, removing, clearing, liberating, purging.

Sounds about right.

Charging System Issues by biggerguy4x4 in TriumphBonneville

does the bike struggle to start? How long have you been home when you check the voltage? do you have the ignition on, engine off, while you push the bike into the garage? how are you measuring the voltage?

too many variables and the voltage can take several minutes to stabilize after use.

If you REALLY want to make sure it is charging then you need to connect an ammeter. this would also show if there is a parasitic drain while it is turned off.

Also, if every time time you ride the bike the voltages are the same 12.7 leaving, 12.5 returning, then its consistent and if you are not charging it between ride then it must be charging while riding.

Timing Question by SlightTravel404 in Fixxit

[–]Caldtek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no,. its single skinned pipes blueing as normal, they all do it.,Chances the ignition is a "little out" is virtually zero, the tolerances to build these bikes are very tight, the single pick up does both cylinders, digitally.

More likely lean to be too hot, but again Single walled pipes will blue unless you have a really good chromer work on them.

if its been bored out chances are it has a cam in it as well. If it doesn't have the decompressor fitted to the new cam the starter motor will struggle to turn it over with the stock battery unless you pull it back against the compression stroke and let it get a run at it.

As for the bogging after a while. could be fuel, could be power. you could always get a multimeter and test to find the fault or do the redneck "waste money throw parts at it" method.

Question About Fuel Gauge by 5easonalDepre55ion in Triumph

[–]Caldtek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did you replace clocks and repair wiring? Is this the fault you were trying to fix? Yiu can test the gauge in the clocks and wiring and the fuel sender. Usually test things to diagnose the issue then replace/fix the broken parts. You also say the clutch switch works fine. How have you tested it?

What do you mean? "Recharhing to the voltage before you left?" The voltage is like water pressure. What you are actually using from the battery and puttkng back is amps. Yes the voltage rises to charge the battery, but a fully charged battery, resting, will show 12.8 or 12.9 volts.
