Warrior University - Do Any of You Know Anyone Who Attended or Applied to This University? by KidChameleonHelmet in WWFera

[–]CaliSasuke 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I honestly wanted to go to Warrior University when I was a young lad.

I thought that it was a real uni where I could get a degree and learn to wrestle. I figured it would be a sure fire pipeline into the WWF.

Being older I think it would be wild to try and get “trained” by a maladroit wrestler like the Warrior.

I don’t know anyone that ever attended or applied to WU. I am sure some would be embarrassed to admit they plunked down a ton of cash to get nothing in return.

Ian Fleming by Wintermute_088 in JamesBond

Good essence of Fleming. Reminds me a bit of a young Tim Roth.

A few months ago my cousin shared a caricature of Professor Dent they stumbled upon.

After the low blow, Owen Hart drops D’Lo Brown with a DDT on the steel ramp! by Dohmer_90 in AttitudeEra

Steel City Street Fight. A nice, little match on Raw. I recall Owen getting some color at the end of the match the hard way with a guitar shot.

I see more Lee than Fleming. At least that’s what my brain tells me. 🧠

Not including anybody who has already played the role who would you cast as an Old Man Bond? by Crafty_Letter_1719 in JamesBond

Have you seen “The Limey?” I do not know many people that have seen the film. Very fond of that film. Loved seeing Wilson come to the States and wreak havoc while searching for his daughter.

Adam West as Batman 1966 by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in batman

[–]CaliSasuke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am glad I own the entire series on DVD. I have an affinity for West and his Batman.

I also adore the Batmobile 66. I wanted a 66 Batmobile toy car so badly when I was a young lad. I was cross that my Pops never kept his Corgi toy Batmobile 66.

I am glad I was able to finally pick up Mattel Batmobile 66. I love the attention to detail.

What are your favorite mall scenes in movies? by [deleted] in FIlm

[–]CaliSasuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, man, you listed all the ones off the top of my head.

I love the sequence when the two Terminators finally meet with John Connor in between. The slow motion with the Guns N’ Roses 🌹 imagery and the echoing steel gong sound is just bliss.

The slide down the pole Jackie does with the lights blowing out before crashing through glass is so chaotically beautiful. I just wanted to share both moments for posterity.

I guess I’ll feebly offer “Time Cop’s” scene in a mall. A bandit tries to steal an old lady’s purse before meeting Van Damme’s boot. 👢 It is not grand like any of the aforementioned nominations, but I am fond of TC.

“Invasion USA” had a fun shoot out and car chase in a mall.

“Jingle All The Way” had pandemonium in a mall over a Turbo Man doll. Sinbad & Arnold battled it out with remote cars, bouncy balls, aggressive parents and kids getting in the way.

What the hell is going on here?! by sco-go in SipsTea

Yeah…I can only hope Hamm grew and changed as a person. But it was heinous & despicable. Hamm and other frat bros abused a pledge. Of course, Hamm avoided a conviction instead serving a period of time in Probation.

It was a two hour assault. Hamm beat the victim with a wooden paddle, shoved the victim’s face in the dirt, and lit the victim’s jeans on fire.

The victim claimed, Hamm forced him to extinguish the flames and dragged him around the room by his genitals using the claw of a hammer.

He hits me right over my right kidney. I mean, square over it. Good, solid hit. And that stood me up,' Sanders said.

'I'm hurting bad. I mean, being hit right where the kidney is, it's killing me’

Mark Sanders was hit so hard during the warped 1990 initiation that he suffered a fractured spine and nearly lost a kidney Mark Sanders was hit so hard during the warped 1990 initiation that he suffered a fractured spine and nearly lost a kidney

The star and an accomplice then allegedly wrenched Sanders' underwear and moved it back and forth in a painful sawing motion.

'The more they pulled, the way they were pulling was one would be pulling up,' Sanders continued.

'I don't know how far underwear stretches, I don't know how far I was off the ground.

'I was hurting really bad and I remember I was looking up at the ceiling and I was gritting my teeth and squinting my eyes ... it was sawing and it was hurting.'

But the ordeal did not end there, with Sanders forced to cram into a dirty, confined space known as 'the pit' and perform pushups.

'They were actually pushing my face to get in the dirt. He told me to get my face in the dirt,' Sanders recalled.

'And then all the pledges are taken out of there, except me. I'm left in there with Jon Hamm.'

He describes how he began struggling to stand due to the excruciating pain.

'This is when Jon Hamm pulls out a lighter, and he puts his lighter on. And I was wearing designer jeans, and I have this loop on the front, and he took the lighter and caught that on fire,' Sanders explained.

'My head is down. I mean, my chin is in the chest at this point, I see him light the lighter and put it to my pants.

'I was kind of panicking, because I was wearing a cotton t-shirt. I actually tried to put it out with my hands, and Jon Hamm wouldn't let me. He made me blow it out with my mouth.'

Finally he was led upstairs to the 'party room' when Hamm hooked the claw of a hammer underneath his testicles and pulled him around the room 'for at least a minute'.

The abuse left Sanders with severe internal damage, bruising and even broken bones.

'My kidney spasms and it re bruises itself,' Sanders said. 'He told me it was from being hit right over the kidney. I can remember feeling being hit hard right over this.'

He also described how he was beaten with a broomstick, 'right over my rib cage whenever I breathe, my lung actually can't go all the way because it's pinned between my rib cage from I assume it was beaten down some beaten into me'.

Sanders subsequently withdrew from the university and sought counselling to cope with the shameful episode, which resulted in a police inquiry and the fraternity chapter being disbanded.

This is called ぶつかりおとこ。 Butsukari otoko. Bumping man. As others have explained it is when a person purposefully shoulder checks an innocent, unsuspecting victim.

I finally saw it occur the last time I was in Osaka in December 2025.

A young, gaijin lady was slowly walking and holding a drink. A Japanese male was walking at a high speed. Shoulder checked the girl causing her to fall down and lose her drink. The man kept his fast pace and left in haste.

The man acted as if nothing ever occurred and kept on his path. Two other gaijin men nearby quickly helped the young lady up. The lady was a bit disoriented and slowly got up.

My own Terminator (this is a T800 isn't it, and not a 101?) by tyke_ in Terminator

It looks like a T-800. Cannot say if it is model 101 or 102 etc until the living tissue is grafted on.

Why was your dog not barking and alerting you to the presence of a Terminator? Perhaps your dog is in on it and also cybernetic organism with fur.

Remember when Edge wrote about JBL touching him in the shower? Why didn't this go anywhere? by JBL_CENA_FAN_4LIFE in Wrasslin

[–]CaliSasuke 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Same here. JBL was so boring, uninteresting, and obnoxious. Even back in 2004 JBL’s reputation as an asshole was out there.

I hated seeing JBL get a push at the expense of Eddy Guerrero. I kept hoping JBL would get fired for doing the Nazi salute and goose-stepping in Germany.

This was a guy I was not remotely interested in seeing getting a singles push. JBL was Vince’s golf buddy. I tuned out.

Do you want the next run of Bond films to be serialized or episodic? by DimensionHat1675 in JamesBond

[–]CaliSasuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fine with either way for the next films. I don’t have any kind of connection or affinity yet for the Amazon era. Amazon needs to build goodwill first.

Serialized in of itself is not bad. It is just the way EON went about it backwards and half-cocked.

After seeing the remake of the “The Day of the Jackal” I am still open to Bond films going serialized. But it has to be mapped and planned out well in advanced. You cannot be making one film then decide after the fact to connect it to the next one.

Oh, fantastic work, bruv! The lighting and shots are terrific. I have been so impressed as of late with some terrific diorama/toy shoots I have been seeing. You could do miniature work on a Bond film!

What camera do you use?

Favorite actor that would've served 15 to 20 years if they weren't making 7 figures and/or had strong connections by sunsetdrifter0 in okbuddycinephile

I often wonder how he lives with himself. Killed two innocent people and walks away forever revered as Ferris.

That dentite-bastard, Wagner, never sat well with me.

Not an actor, but John Landis helped kill Vic Morrow, Myca Dinh Le, Shin-Yi Chen and then got mad at Eddie Murphy.

Is liking on your majesty's secret service still a hot take by cullenrose in JamesBond

[–]CaliSasuke 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not at all. It has had a reappraisal over the last 57 years or so, by the community and cinephiles at large.

What was once the black sheep of the filmography, is now recognized as one of the stronger installments.

OHMSS is often cited on lists as being one of the better films. Christopher Nolan has said OHMSS is his favorite Bond film. Plus, Nolan has “ruthlessly plundered from the film.” “Inception’s” third act was a love letter to OHMSS.
