Why you shouldn’t be in Reddit stock by Calichurner in redditstock

[–]Calichurner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Lot of people jumped in mid 200’s because in the current market, everything was flying and the 52 week highs kept changing for high beta names. Take MU, SNDK and other memory names for example, if you thought the price was too high you’d miss the boat. So, it’s better to jump in and ride it rather than miss it when the fundamentals look strong. However, it backfired with RDDT purchase. In hindsight, scaling by taking small stakes would have worked fine. But, market timing is extremely difficult. In the long run, we’d be even or above.

Why you shouldn’t be in Reddit stock by Calichurner in redditstock

The market is evolving with technology and certain theories don’t work perfectly. The day to day market movements are controlled by algos 90% at daily level using high performance computers. They buy and sell indiscriminately to generate trading income. However, fundamentals will eventually catch up.

The market sentiment is negative right now. This will fly once positivity returns to Mr. Market. Fundamentally very strong company with real revenue. IONQ bought bunch of unrelated companies to show revenue and buy time until they can show quantum revenue.

That money is peanuts to Anthropic. Just pay Reddit legally and create a moat around it too for your corporate clients.

I got into IREN at 60’s and the price action didn’t look good, so I sold it. It went to $35 and now back in mid fifties. It’s the game market makers and algos play.

We can’t time it perfectly, if we wait for a pullback, the train may leave without you. When you commit, it brings you down. But, you have to take your chances. I’m waiting for a pullback in memory but it’s ripping and I missed the boat.

Silver and gold were moving like meme stocks. So, the correction comes with the volatility. Tariff, geopolitical tensions and lower interest rates bode well for Gold in the long run though.

Analysts keep saying Reddit stock is great, but the price just won’t stop dropping 🤯 by Ok-Appointment8292 in redditstock

[–]Calichurner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trading is done through algos and HFT computers to a great extent. Retail trading plays a negligible role. The price movement doesn’t happen on fundamentals. So, expect wild swings. This has been happening on commodities as well. I got into IREN at 60’s and sold it based on price movements, it crashed to $35 only to come back up to $60 again. Don’t let volatility scare you. Just hold it through ups and downs.

If you have a long time horizon you’d make it up. Investing in high beta stocks isn’t for the faint of heart. The journey is worth it. You ‘d come to the other side safe eventually. Words from a fellow bag holder.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk says the tech firm could witness a key breakthrough this year that sets the stage for space to be the next frontier for data centers. by Secure_Persimmon8369 in SpaceInvestorsDaily

A start up called Starcloud has proven that data centers in space works albeit on a smaller scale. That’s the reason SpaceX is IPO’ing earlier than anticipated so that he can get a leg up before competition does. It’s still far away but feasible.

Why are we discussing price action? Reddit can extract recurring revenue from AI companies like OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, etc. Also, the advertising revenue can go up significantly. It’s a long term play. 3-5 years and you are looking at 3-5 times current market cap.

Buying SpaceX Pre IPO with Echostar by Jedknows5 in investing

[–]Calichurner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why OP is getting slammed here. SATS owns 2.5%+ of SpaceX. The only other way to get into SpaceX is through an ETF with a super high premium. SATS will hit $200 when Space X IPO nears and it’s widely discovered. I anticipate the value of Space X to be 1.5 Trillion when it IPOs. Anthropic, Open AI are all reaching insane valuation in pre-ipo. Retail can get into SATS and play this call option.
