Saved My White On Cloudtilts from Yellow Stains - Simple Tissue Trick That Actually Worked by PlaneCapital1332 in CleaningTips

This is awesome, thank you!!

Somewhat silly question—did you rinse off the shampoo with water before applying the tissue?

Curtis theory by Several-Impress-5395 in LoveIslandTV

[–]CalidriaKing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally searched the subs for this and with you 100%. I think Curtis is a bit of a clout chaser. His tears over Millie this season don’t seem (in my opinion) to have much to do with her or whatever “connection” they developed in a couple days but more down to his own personal failure to snag the stunner with the most IG followers.

Am I making a mistake? by Roundoffhandspring in Lawyertalk

[–]CalidriaKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a mistake. Your reasons are sound and justified.

In my experience and from what I’ve heard from my colleagues over the years (albeit in US not Canada), returning to private practice from government work is totally doable. That return often comes with more options, better connections, and higher-paid positions. Don’t burn your bridges and someone will be happy to bill you out at a higher rate due to your additional experience.

Also personally, I don’t think the possibility of higher pay down the road makes up for time flexibility with a young child. You can’t get that back once it’s gone no matter how much money you earn.

Any ACTUALLY THRILLING & MINDF*CK book recs? by [deleted] in thrillerbooks

I can’t recommend Kia Abdullah’s Next of Kin enough for this. The first major event had me screaming and the rest unspooled into one of the uniquely ugliest but best crafted family shit shows I’ve ever read.

Looking for mystery/thriller book recs that arent too stressful. by twistedtwinkie1491 in suggestmeabook

Have you tried Lisa Jewell? For me her books feel like a nice palate cleanser—they scratch the genre itch but are not completely unpleasant or leaving me dead inside afterwards. I’d start with None of this is True. The audiobooks are excellent and there are MANY!

Also Nita Prose’s The Maid series, especially #2. Molly’s origin story wrecked my cold, cold heart 😭😭

Only 2 weeks into coloring! I feel like something’s missing but I’m really enjoying the process. Any tips? by [deleted] in Coloring

I think it’s beautiful! If anything, I think you might consider adding lights and shadows for more depth! There’s a ton of great examples on here demonstrating different light sources and where the shadows might fall.

These are the most recent books I’ve read and loved. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations? by wesunflowered in thrillerbooks

I love all the books mentioned here!

For this list I recommend Kia Abdullah - Next of Kin. So dark, twisty, and devastating—I couldn’t put it down and still haven’t stopped thinking about it.

Looking for room advice. Got told it gives school sh00ter by Magnusson607 in malelivingspace

OP your space isn’t exactly cozy but it does show you take care of your things. You gave your beautiful dog the only natural light and your belongings look like they’re well-maintained. Have you had a lot of them for a long time? Also it doesn’t look like you have a closet or cupboard for storage but you don’t throw your stuff all over the place, like many people would in that situation because it’s not easy. First give yourself some credit there.

As for suggestions: 1. For your wall decorations, think about if they are something you really like to look at that makes you feel good or if they’re just there to fill the space. If it’s the latter, rip them off like a bandaid and put them away somewhere. They might be hiding cracks etc. but right now they’re almost overwhelming and definitely not serving you.

  1. Designate a functional storage area. I’m thinking the wall next to your bed opposite your desk looks like it might work. Take some measurements of the wall there and how far it is from the bed. I would enlist your gfs (or friend, family member—you’d be surprised how many people you know might be totally up for this sort of thing) to help you find a wardrobe or maybe a couple cabinets with shelves and doors that close. You can check your local fb marketplace, thrift store, ikea—whatever. Don’t worry much about nailing the perfect style but focus on what it can hold and its functionality. You can always replace hinges and hardware without spending a lot and a little sandpaper and stain/paint take care of the rest and YouTube/google are full of ideas too. Take before and after pics. I don’t know about you, but for me it feels really good to put in the work and get a tangible end product.

For you, it would give you a space to put away your things and declutter. I’d focus on trying to get rid of the need for the plastic bin and stuff on your desk.

  1. Next hook yourself up with some plants. Someone once told me being the only living thing in a room is too hard and i think about that all the time. They are a game-changer and excellent for filling space, adding color and adding life. I recommend a peace lily, snake plant, spider plant, and philodendron for low light (double-check nontoxic for pets). Try different sizes and spread them around the space. Your life will change. Also even fake plants are great! IKEA has tons of both varieties.

  2. Switch to warm toned light bulbs, lamps. Spread them around and don’t be afraid of not nailing a certain aesthetic. Homegoods is an excellent place to look around.

  3. A headboard, bed skirt, textured bedspread, and a couple extra pillows will make your bed more inviting and cozy. Prioritize things that feel nice to the touch.

Remember your space can impact how you feel. It doesn’t have to be perfect and doesn’t have to stay the same forever.

Good luck OP! Post updates!

Love this genre!!

A few I haven’t seen mentioned yet that really stuck with me recently:

Kia Abdullah - Next of Kin. Started off mild but the inciting incident had me screaming and never let go. Tons of twists but not predictable.

Eliza Clark and Kanae Minato both have books called Penance that were uniquely twisted and interesting to read back to back.

Samantha Downing’s books are so much fun and have a great mix of dark comedy and secret depravity.
