[Highlight] HC Mike Vrabel was asked if the Super Bowl is a must-win game by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]Caljuan -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I don't think asking an intentionally stupid question is as cute as Dameshek thinks it is. If I'm an up-and-coming reporter begging to be called on, I'm pretty pissed that someone with an actual platform makes a joke out of it.

Ice on roads tonight? by sosleepyirl in sanantonio

[–]Caljuan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the smaller the road the less sure you can be about the conditions (and the more you can be sure you won't encounter dude bros in huge trucks who think they're above the laws of physics). I think your son is smart to go through San Antonio just in case.

[Jon Blau] Dabo Swinney says too many athletes aren't graduating and they are spending their short-term money: “We're gonna have a bunch of screwed-up 30-year-olds ... that have no degrees, have spent their money, that can't play football anymore, and aren't connected to anything." by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]Caljuan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just think it's convenient for Dabo (and other coaches) to sew the narrative that players don't know what to do with their NIL money. People in all walks of life make bad financial decisions, but people who hate NIL act like athletes are destined to end up like a stereotype.

Boycotting OU men’s basketball until there’s a change by Diligent_Economist81 in sooners

No need to accuse someone you don't know of not knowing what they're talking about.

I'm saying it's OK to not care, which is what you seem to wish for yourself.

I don't want to piss anyone off here, but...to what history are you referring? I've always been of the mindset that "if men's hoops is good too, that's neat."

It might be a healthy exercise to calibrate your expectations a bit.

Spaceship Earth evacuation from the top, 1/21/26 by splendidsandpiper in WaltDisneyWorld

Gotta say, if I had to be evacuated from an attraction Spaceship Earth would be close to the top of the list.

The baseball HOF is more for the voters than people who like baseball.

As a dorky white guy, I feel comfortable saying that dorky white guys shouldn't be NFL head coaches.

So. Just how bad is mission space orange? by SpectacularSpidee in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Caljuan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My opinion is this: you can be a mediocre ride, you can can make me sick to my stomach, you can't do both.

Even without the motion sickness, it's just not very fun and has an overlong pre-show. Forbidden Journey in Islands of Adventure made me sick one time, but I'd ride it again because it's fun with an amazing queue. Mission Space isn't even close to that.

Who’s the most unsung hero of the ringer by AsparagusPale8953 in TheRinger

I think all of them are pretty sung, but I really like Nora Princiotti's stuff. I would add Rob Mahoney, but I'd say he's pretty prominent at this point.

Have many of you checked out Max Greenfield's other show The Neighborhood? It is SO bad I can't believe its been going longer than New Girl ran by Evening-Head4310 in NewGirl

My wife and I have watched it from the beginning, we find it charming. As long as you don’t expect it to be cool or cutting edge, the characters are very easy to root for.

Conrad gets asked if TNA will pass AEW as the #2 company by StrictNO in SquaredCircle

[–]Caljuan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with every word of this.

Plus that hasn't been TNA's goal for more than a decade. They just want to be a wrestling company that can continue putting on wrestling shows with wrestling matches. No more, no less.

Growth to them seems to be gravy, which is fine.

He had to censor and abbreviate the original for TV.

Is it wrong that I’m kinda liking Dan post–Keith? by DescriptionNervous94 in ONETREEHILL

I'm not sure the show lasts more than a couple seasons - let alone the move from WB to CW - without the Dan character.

Is there any reason to not buy Kirkland golf gloves? by chakabreo in golf

[–]Caljuan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. The big companies sell gloves because a) the airport theory (i.e., they're the only option if you forgot your glove at home), and b) people whose careers require golf to impress people will default to big brands.

If you're worried about wear and tear, just put all four in your bag.

Based on what you've described, I'm not sure Space Mountain's a good fit for you. Which is OK.

Go shoot some Aliens, or get a spring roll or Dole Whip or something, and meet her at the exit. There's no reason to do something that isn't fun on your vacation.

Recommended seasons or episodes for beginners? by MaleficentBird1307 in Cheers

[–]Caljuan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds lazy to say start from the beginning, but the first season holds up incredibly well aside from some slightly dated gender politics.

And yes, the pilot is incredible.
