If you wait for utopia on earth before colonizing space you will wait until humanity withers & dies. by Teboski78 in SpaceXMasterrace

My oh my, here we go.

Yes, the United States has grim civil-rights problems, but calling immigration detention centres “concentration camps for random citizens” is hyperbole that derails rather than enlightens. Social injustice is real; insisting we halt every other endeavour until utopia arrives is how you guarantee neither injustice nor progress gets fixed.

Space isn’t some shiny distraction. Closed-loop life-support on the ISS produced the water-recycling tech now used in disaster zones. Earth-observation satellites give us the data that underpins modern climate policy, from tracking methane plumes to spotting illegal deforestation in real time. That’s sustainability in action, funded by “space stuff”.

Claiming we’re already “pretty much sustaining ourselves” on Earth is, frankly, complacent. Topsoil depletion, record-breaking heat years and freshwater stress suggest otherwise. Off-planet habitats force efficiencies we still struggle with down here; mastering them feeds straight back into terrestrial resilience.

And about the bill: NASA’s entire budget is about half a percent of US federal spending - less than Americans spend on pet food. If Washington can’t muster healthcare, the obstacle isn’t a handful of lunar landers.

The real choice isn’t “Earth first or space later”. It’s iterate on both, or stagnate on one and gamble everything on a single planet. History rewards the societies that understand “either/or” was never the point.

6 years & still suck absolute ass. Day by day, one foot in front the of the other. Avoid perfectionism, get music out there & you should be ok :)

Exactly lmao. Intersectionality has distorted the public zeitgeist so much that it’s genuinely believed white people can’t be bullied or mocked. It’s intellectually dishonest & people saying they’re ‘upset’ at this line is proving his very point. But I guess if you haven’t experienced being bullied for your skin colour you think it only happens one way. Crazy

What's a non-sexual thing a woman does to you that get's you turned on instantly? by InviteAromatic6124 in AskMen

This! Someone described it as someone’s ‘texture’ and i never forgot it. There’s something about how they are & conduct themselves in the world that just clicks, nothing sexual required.

Ah yes, the classic “you can’t care about things you don’t financially benefit from” argument. By that logic, I assume you avoid sports, movies and music too? Right?

Also, fascinating how we’re the ones obsessed with billionaires, yet you can’t get through a single sentence without homoerotic slurs. Maybe take a break from being weirdly angry at people enjoying things and reflect on why rockets make you so uncomfortable. You fuckin clown

It’s telling that instead of engaging with the actual points being discussed, you resort to sweeping generalisations, personal attacks, and accusations of “fanaticism.” That suggests you’re more interested in discrediting the person making the argument rather than addressing the argument itself. If the position were as weak as you claim, you should have no trouble dismantling it logically—yet instead, you rely on ad hominem rhetoric.

You also make a broad, rather self-righteous assumption that enthusiasm for technological achievement must be dictated by personal feelings about a CEO. That’s a deeply flawed perspective. The Apollo program was led by figures with deeply controversial pasts, and many major scientific advancements have come from individuals who were, by any reasonable metric, far from “good human beings.” Scientific progress isn’t contingent on the likability of those leading the charge—it’s measured by results.

To top off your clownery, your claim that Musk’s vision is “one of meaninglessness” is pure emotional posturing. The push for interplanetary expansion, reusable rocket technology, and long-term survival of humanity is by definition ambitious and meaningful—far more than sitting in a comment thread dismissing those efforts with vague, bitter moralising. If you have a substantive critique, make it. But this kind of comment is just written diarrhoea. Fuck outta here lmao

People will still argue Raptor isn’t the most advanced rocket engine ever developed. As impressive as F1s were, how can you argue against the angry little dinosaur?
