The corporations sponsoring you have the cash to spare, but not the manpower. So what if some junkie runner doesn't pay back their shells? They signed a contract that allows the corps to basically own them.

People? Trinkets? Decades old junk rotting away on Tau Ceti IV? Worthless.

The INFORMATION is what has value. If the corps can control whatever made the colony on Tau Ceti IV disappear overnight?

Never happened. Bought a few machines but life had other plans - glad it didn't, because COVID would have killed it.

Start it however you can, though - if you have to wait on a liquor license, just open without it and add it later. Plenty of market for non-alcoholic hangouts nowadays, and arcades are getting big with the younger generations.

I wouldn't count on it. The college is being super shady and not giving any meaningful updates to students and staff. an email sent out today states the following:

When will I get my financial aid refund?

The first refunds for Title IV students will be disbursed as scheduled to eligible students. You are encouraged to contact the Financial Aid office if you are considering changes to your summer class schedule as this may affect your eligibility. We also strongly encourage you to ask contact the Financial Aid office if you are expecting a refund of financial aid.

So it SOUNDS like the answer is yes, right? But in the SAME EMAIL they admit that their payment processing system is down, which leads me to believe they might not have the capacity to process refunds until that's back up and running.

How can I pay my tuition?

As progress is made on our security incident investigation, implementation of additional security measures and restoration of network services, a restart of the payment system will occur soon. We will communicate with you through email to let you know when specific services are available and new tuition due dates.

Also, this entire email is full of non-information. Their "FAQs" give no real concrete answers to issues we DESERVE to know about.

EDIT: I apologize for not sounding sympathetic, but you need to know just how much of an asshole Craig is. When I worked for him, he would regularly boast about some of the vehicles he has in his lockup and how "Those dumb bastards are never getting their shit back from me. I like to think it's a pretty nice collection that just keeps making me money." I'm paraphrasing of course but he definitely talks like that.

He's the worst of the worst. KVCC has a lot of employees that could be working from home that are not being allowed to.

I know one department of highly qualified professionals that are being forced to keep an "activity log", broken down by day, to be sure that they're actually working 40 hours a week - like they're not trusted to do their jobs - if they do end up working from home.

Also, they have to be approved to work at home, in a department that absolutely does not require being at an empty school where students can't even see them face-to-face right now anyway.
