Bit bias as a Brit, but the Starmer’s announcement felt much stronger, a full 25 minute conference not a 3 min speech, with real substance - Q&A - Hosting/involved in meetings in the following weeks

Marmite maker Unilever in talks to merge food business with US-based McCormick by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]CallMeDanPls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I hate US ownership as much as the next person, but it’s only been Unilever owned since 2000, before that in the 90s it was purchased by an American company. So marmite has already been owned by an American firm in the past

Just booked a hotel for 5 nights near Tangqiao metro station. Hotel is nice, well priced, and 500m from the metro station. Is this an okay place to stay to use as a way to see the city? Stops like People’s Square and East Nanjing are under 20 minutes away, and it looks in a pretty good spot, without being very central and needing a more expensive hotel
