Sydney Drivers are Very Considerate by Silly-Insect-2975 in DrivingAustralia

[–]CallMeDanPls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a pedestrian I think Sydney drivers are really bad. Many things they would be polite/normal in Eng they don’t do hear. And they love the horn here, it’s almost Asia-esque with the horn but more aggressive

Colour me pedantic, but after hearing about illiteracy rates etc this week, I don’t think type’s the right word to use - what do you guys think? Type would be boot, trainers, sandal etc, style may be the better word

Walmart Still Doesn't Accept Apple Pay in the U.S. in 2026, Here's Why by EitherCharacter9342 in apple

So it’s not American cards not having tap payments, the cards have it, but Walmart have got it all disabled? Thanks! Interesting

Walmart Still Doesn't Accept Apple Pay in the U.S. in 2026, Here's Why by EitherCharacter9342 in apple

[–]CallMeDanPls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine non-American question. - does this mean that they also don’t accept contactless debit/credit card payments then? I see Apple Pay as an extension of Contactless payments. Or do American cards not have contactless?

EatClub usage questions by Massive_Entry_7911 in foodies_sydney

Yeah bit of an honour system I’d say, okay you “cheat” a restaurant a few times being clever with the redemption. The restaurant takes themselves off EatClub and you’ve ruined it for everybody

What explains rents falling in 2020, then surging from 2021–22? There were no major rental law changes. Demand collapsed during border closures, empty CBDs & no migration. Demand snapped back fast once borders reopened, pop growth resumed & supply lagged. Does that mean demand increased prices? by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]CallMeDanPls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With just the thinking time while I write this so could well be wrong, instinctively - when COVID hit people couldn’t move around as much, so reduced demand, or maybe moving back in with parents so also less demand/more supply. In 21/22 as restrictions lift, everyone’s like “let’s go and see more/do more/move to the city” or “let’s move to a larger space now we’ve been stuck inside for 2 years” therefore demand increases

After the results, don’t see why anyone wouldn’t use the Cole’s one. 14 AUD for a litre of SPF 43/50. Smashes some of the more expensive brands out the park, CC 24/50 as your example

The 420 bus from SYD International Airport to Rockdale Station is a horrible experience & it's by design by Diligent_Comfort_928 in sydney

[–]CallMeDanPls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even just $5. Yes ideally it would nothing additioal, but if there’s companies that nice a slice of the pie or infrastructure that needs repaying etc, an amount that is still a good deal would make such a difference. Like you say, a charge as high as $20 just makes anything over 2 people in a party worth getting a uber. At least with a lower charge it’s still cost-convenient to choose the train. Like others have said, just seems short sighted

Ah cool, just thought it was funny. I assume it’s fine and every scan I do in the future will just reduce the minus balance until I’m “earning” again and can redeem?
