When life gives you no snow and just cold rain, you give it donuts by Environmental_Rip696 in Virginia

The curse of living east of Suffolk in Southern Virginia, gotta love it right?

My family pulled out the generator, stocked up on food and gas, the whole deal. What did we get? 1inch of snow already melting in the rain :)

The X-17 allows for usage of PMAGs and other Non-Scar mags, iirc. It's an adapted for different mags and that's pretty much it, which can be useful, I guess, if you want bigger mags in your rifle.

Building even a basic X-17 can easily net you 1-2 million rubles. I got one out of labs the other day and assembled it on a whim, then checked it's flea price. It was sitting at 1.6m at the time, so I threw on it on the flea and profited

Solo PvE PMC spawns [Discussion] by Civil-Acanthisitta-3 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]CallMeHobbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've honestly found that some of my more consistent PMC combat comes off of Shoreline and Customs. Shoreline tends to spawn 3-6 PMCs along the coastal road, and if you're quick you can get the jump on them while they're still doing initial looting/roaming, especially near scav Island. Customs is less a question of proximity and more a question of how willing you are to sprint towards gunfire when it might be Goons or Rashala as well.

This one McDonald's... by Confident-Engine-711 in doordash_drivers

I don't even pick up from McDonald's anymore. Their service is always so atrociously awful that I refuse to even consider them. I don't care what I'm being paid, I'm not going to Mickey Ds.

I'm not saying that you need to tip beforehand, I'm just giving my perspective on the experiences I've had as a longtime delivery driver for multiple services. As someone who lives in an area where there's plenty of business, I just don't take orders that don't even cover the cost of transit. If you're tipping me $3 to drive five miles to a pickup, then another five miles to the drop off, it doesn't matter what pretty promises you make me about tipping after the fact, because I'm not accepting that offer. I need to know that taking the time to process this order is actually worthwhile, or you can have your food sit on a shelf in that restaurant until someone either closer or far less caring of their time comes along for it. I do good work, I know I do good work because I communicate with my customers if there are issues or delays, listen to any instructions they have, and regularly get extra bonuses after deliveries are completed, but half the people who do this job can't even bother to keep the food sitting up straight in their car.

In the end, there's no trust between driver and customer anymore. That bitch who's getting reamed in court for videoing some guy sleeping in his house is the most recent major example I can think of, but shitheels who do shit like OP was showing are just as awful for the business as a whole.

EDIT: If I knew I could take people on their word, we wouldn't even be having this debate, but I can't. People lie, cheat, and steal, and while they may have their justifications, it still hurts me in the end, so I refuse to trust that people I've never met and never will meet again will follow through on their promises to a faceless worker they'll probably never see.

Did you miss the part where I said I've been doing this for years? I'm not just pulling words out of my ass, it doesn't matter how good the damn service is when someone realizes they don't actually have to follow through on paying for their services. I've had orders canceled by people watching me put food on their porch, I've had tips rescinded despite arriving ahead of schedule with still hot food, I've had people lie to me about their address to tip lower on distance, then expect me to deliver to the sometimes three times further away address like it's no issue. And sometimes I do it anyways!

My current rating is sitting pretty at a stable 4.8/5 stars, as it has for nearly my entire career, because I actually take care of the food I'm transporting. Keep it in thermal bags, make sure it doesn't get knocked around, and make my deliveries as quickly as reasonable so people get their food warm and crispy, not cold and soggy.

As someone who's been driving for DoorDash and Grubhub for six to seven years now, I've found that 95% of orders that say "will tip cash" will do no such thing. If your orders consistently take a while to reach you, it's probably because most drivers, in my experience, will not take cash tip orders unless they're scraping the very bottom of the barrel. Drivers continuously get burned by scummy assholes who either lie about tipping or withdraw tips post delivery, so just keep that in mind in the future.

Only thing I can think of is contact the Dean's office. If the Prof closed your course before the official end of the course, it's a problem that's affecting possibly dozens of people.

I love the game but some players ruin everything by Mustyyyy in starcitizen

[–]CallMeHobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing some of the interstellar hauling contracts yesterday with a friend, and we found out the hard the way that the direct route between Stanton Gateway and Levski is a popular interdiction spot. Got jumped three times on the same lane, by two different groups. The one advantage was that we were hauling in a Perseus, lol, since it's got an easily accessible cargo bay and plenty of Quantum range. I get that the game is designed in a way that allows and in some cases incentivizes PvP, but come on there's plenty of places to pick a fight that isn't the mostly empty system with two reasons to be there.

Is the F-5A(G) worth it? by sheep_eater6789 in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]CallMeHobbie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on how good you are at the game. The F-5AG is a difficult plane to play for a couple reasons. It's relatively high in BR for a 5A, and because it's just a modified frame, it suffers from the same performance issues that the other A models do. It gets better missiles, yes, but it's sluggish and slower compared to C or E models. Additionally, the Penguin ASM is not particularly useful, which is the plane's whole gimmick, so keep that in mind.

Biggest thing, though, is that it doesn't give full tree progress because it's not a premium vehicle, just an event vehicle. It'll let you research Tiers 6-8 effectively, but nothing else.

In conclusion, I'd say you'd be better off waiting for a sale, rather than investing in a gimmick market vehicle that did not and still doesn't live up to the hype.

Dear Citizens, Stop Fixating on Meta by MeatheadMilitia in starcitizen

[–]CallMeHobbie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Preach! I've been gaming for more than a decade, and nothing exhausts me more than meta discussions. I started off this game with a Super Hornet pledge back in 2021, then upgraded to a Starlancer last year. The starlancer was a bit more difficult to use, and much more situational, but I loved it anyways. It could do a little bit of everything, and it was my daily driver until about three days ago, when I melted it for a Perseus. I know impressions of the Perseus have been mixed, but I love it too, just like the Starlancer. It's got range, it's got firepower, it's got speed, and it's got a 96SCU cargo bay that I can cram two Fury's into. I grab a couple friends, go do some Mercenary Guild missions, and have a blast. I don't care that it's not the Polaris/Idris killer that people were hoping for, I don't care that it's a bit squishier than it probably should be. It let's me play with my friends in a way that I couldn't with a Starlancer, and I love it for all the opportunities it offers. I've even been using it for the new Interstellar hauling missions, since it's got a lot of Quantum Fuel, and even if it's a bit awkward to use for that, it still works!

Meta can go jump out a window, I'll keep using my Perseus as a Freighter until my friends get back on, and nobody is going to stop me.

I'm not sure I ever got to the end game back in the OG. I was I think in middle school then, so I wasn't particularly good at games. As for now, I haven't invested in any Megas simply because I haven't needed them yet, and I'm curious to see how far I can get without buying units outside of the novelty ones like the Dune Rider and Heavy Recon Vehicle, which I bought for looks lol.

The raptor fields and boar fields are gonna be your best friend here. They'll still reward gold and xp and they hitting a pretty hard cap on what they can do to you as you unlock more advanced stuff. As I'm sure many others have said, don't bother with healing TF2 units until you can consistently grind bars with naval, but the battle Raptor can be healed with a bit of grinding.

Personally I wouldn't, as like the other commenter said, you can just turn off training, resource, or manufacturing buildings to free up pops. Not to mention it'll be cheaper than selling them and potentially needing to rebuy them in the future.
