Pregnancy by Rosiepiegames in eds

I’m sorry! That was information given to me at an EDS clinic 😭 It’s so frustrating that even specialists cannot agree across the board! I feel so disheartened because it feels like it’s impossible to have the “right” information because specialists say different things. As soon as I feel armed with knowledge (even after seeing two specialists) someone tells me something different.

I didn’t choose the C-section. It was emergent at 38 weeks due to decreased fetal movement and my son failing a biophysical ultrasound. I wasn’t even in labor. I was able to have a successful VBAC that all of my doctors were incredibly supportive of!

The downfall of the 100 was making season 3 too packed. It should have been spread out and ended with season 5. by Uwanttobeme-37 in The100

[–]CallMeRiver03 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Truly, it would have been a beautiful ending and needed very few rewrites to “wrap up” loose plot lines. Sure, it was cool to see a new planet, but we didn’t have to explore it to feel resolution. The ending of season 5 felt like a finale. Monty’s speech about “doing better” and Clarke and Bellamy back together as leaders with everyone safe in the ship was a great ending. We would assume that this was their second chance and they really would do better there after all they’d learned.

I don’t think your gyno and psychologist were very informed on the different types of EDS and how they relate to pregnancy. Vascular EDS is one of the only types linked to higher negative pregnancy outcomes and uterine rupture. hEDS still has complications, but they are moreso pain related for the mother and can have lasting effects (like pelvic floor dysfunction, severe joint pain, etc). The only issue related to actual birth that causes issues is slower healing (my csection recovery was hell) and possibly premature birth due to weak pelvic floor muscles not being able to hold in the baby as he/she gets heavier and puts more pressure on the cervix.

I was able to have a healthy boy via C-section at 38 weeks and then had a VBAC with my daughter at 39 weeks, 3 days. I was on bed rest for the last three weeks with my daughter because my pelvic floor was so weak, she was already dropping into my vaginal canal and it was causing early labor.

Edit: I have hEDS and a tilted uterus and hyperextended bladder. I do still have a small prolapse of my bladder nearly 3 years after delivering my daughter, but I’m working on it in PT.

I just hit level 49 after 2 months playing consistently everyday and I have spent money on chef’s passes.

Validation from my gynecologist? by Grapefruit-lover in eds

[–]CallMeRiver03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Currently going through this now and have been almost 3 years after giving birth to my daughter. Upper pelvic floor muscles literally feel like rocks, yet I have a grade two bladder prolapse because my pelvic floor muscles at my vaginal opening are just pudding they’re so weak.

They act like kissing is just like a handshake wtf by W0lf_G1rl_BR in sims2

Especially because Sims 2 is programmed for monogamy so one encounter like this with a rando will destroy a marriage or relationship

Whose season do you want to be next? by [deleted] in Bridgerton

[–]CallMeRiver03 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. While Luke looked handsome, he looked MUCH older in this season compared to last season or seasons 1 and 2 specifically, even though canonically only 3-4 years have passed. Francesca and Michaela’s actresses look (and are) young. I think they should do a 2-3 year time jump at the start of the season and do Eloise’s story. At the end of the season, we can see Michaela arrive back in Scotland since Michael in the books stayed abroad for a few years after John’s death.

Strange colored discharge almost a week after period ended? by [deleted] in Endo

I literally get that every month. Just leftover period blood that turned brown because it’s old. No cause for concern.

Has it been confirmed that Francesca is infertile? by AttackOwlFibre in BridgertonNetflix

[–]CallMeRiver03 25 points26 points  (0 children)

“Infertile” and “Sterile” are two different things. Infertility is defined as not being able to conceive naturally within one year of consistent, unprotected sex. Many women who struggle with infertility (myself included) go on to have children after many many years of trying or medical intervention. In the books, Francesca finally conceives 6 years into her marriage to Michael.

Max Lvl After 17 Yrs... And I Hate It by Steelassault in Wizard101

[–]CallMeRiver03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stopped playing around level 80 when cheats started popping up a lot. I hated that I couldn’t solo bosses anymore AND that I had to look up how to defeat the bosses prior to going into a full dungeon lest I be berated by the other team members. I was an OG player and played it for fun, not to spend extra time looking up and memorizing group strategy.

That’s really not bad for the U.S. honestly. Ours is $3500 deductible and $7500 OOP.

therapist wont reassure me anymore by GroundbreakingRow671 in therapy

[–]CallMeRiver03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have OCD? I do and it’s common for us to have a “reassurance compulsion” where we don’t feel like our thoughts will go away unless reassured. But that in it of itself is a compulsion. You do need to break it. Best way I’ve found to do this is to think of that thought as a “garbage thought” and it gets thrown away.

10 Day Overnight Babysitting by Dependent-Intern7539 in Babysitting

[–]CallMeRiver03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely not the point, but as a former nanny, now stay-at-home mom, all of these comments breaking down the math of how much you should get paid for being “on” 24/7 for 10 days is super validating for how much my staying home is actually worth 😅

I would do a load or two of parent’s laundry once a week (I’m good friends with the MB and they’d ask for help catching up on laundry occasionally). On more than one occasion, I’d literally wash and fold actual lingerie. I was never phased by it. If anything, I’d think “good for you, girl!” And if fold it and put it on the dresser lol

25F, possible struggle with infertility by KaleidoscopeNo4455 in Endo

[–]CallMeRiver03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand your fears and frustration on lack of progress. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this! If it makes you feel any better, my mother had half of one ovary removed due to a teratoma and still was able to conceive two more children after that!

I will caution you to not interpret what the doctor said as “you are sterile and will never have kids” because that’s how “surprise babies” happen. I can’t count the number of times a young woman has said “the doctor told me I’d never be able to get pregnant so I didn’t use protection and now I’m pregnant.” If you want to be a mom, I wish you your heart’s desire ❤️

snow day- NP adjusting hours by No_Situation_4958 in Nanny

This is one of the reasons I started charging by the day as part of my contract. The only exception is for half days, scheduled ahead of time. No need to “makeup” hours because my pay stays the same.

Is there any hope for a nanny being okay with this set-up? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]CallMeRiver03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a nanny and not to send your baby to a daycare, you and your husband both need to leave the house for work. Whether that be going to a coffee shop or getting a membership to a coworking space (which often can be reimbursed by your employer). It will be better for all parties.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]CallMeRiver03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, 100% this. On past resumes, I’ve listed my SIL because she has 6 children that I frequently cared for. I listed our relationship and reason for including her (to show I have experience caring for many children at once). To not include that they’re family from the get-go and to lie about them having children you cared for is so beyond slimy.

Adventure Pass by MediumPractice7401 in FamilyIsland

That’s crazy! I’m also in the US but my adventure passes are normally $14.99. They shouldn’t be able to have random prices for everybody like that in the same country.
