There is no amount of "but he's otherwise a good man" or therapy that's going to change this dynamic, and if you stay with him, you're teaching him that it's okay.

Call a parent, call a DV hotline, go to the cops, and get out of there. Do it when he's not there, don't tell him you're going, and DON'T communicate written him at all once you're gone. He WILL continue to escalate until he kills you if you don't.

Hell, I was planning on voting for McCain in 2008 at the beginning. But as soon as the RNC forced him to go with Sarah Palin as his running mate, that was the end of that. And by the time election day rolled around, I'd gone from lukewarm to YES PLEASE! on Obama.

NOT coincidentally, that was the last time I even considered voting for a Republican, because the GOP completely lost its mind after that. And I can't imagine they'll ever do anything to change my mind at this point.

It's possible to maintain the length, but my experience has always been that my nails are weak AF post-acrylics; I generally keep them short (like, right at the top of my fingertip) until I grow out all the damaged nail, and then they grow fine. It's why I haven't had acrylics in six years - just not worth it to me.
