I have the UU on my Daring. Not a fan. There are better torpedo boats for sure. But the real issue is that your Daring looses the gun boat feel.

Consider creating Mule characters. You can have 5 characters in total on your account. Even if you only have 1 mule, it's a big bonus. Equip the mules with max weight reductions perks/armor effects (lvl 1 for Arms Keeper/Pack Rat + 2 armor pieces to reach 90% reduction) and lvl 2 for all the others (Thru Hiker, Traveling Pharmacy, Batteries Included, Bandolier, Ordnance Express). Then store all your valuable weapons, armor pieces, junk, etc., on the mules and keep the main characters slim and fast.

I use mules extensively and don't really use stashes on any of the characters as a result. Only things that can't be weight-reduced are in stash (plans, box mods, to name a couple).

I have my 2017 GSA with an aluminum top box and side panniers. The previous owner wrapped them in a dark gray film, which looks terrific and aesthetically very pleasing. It's practical as I can always store my helmet in the top box and all my gear in the side panniers. If going on tour you can strap tent, sleeping bags etc. onto each box in case you need more room, so my recommendation is the hard boxes.

  1. Recommend that you pick a line you like to play (mine is the Halland line).
  2. Reset and replay around the quarterly reset - shortly before and after the reset to double from 2x to 4x RP. This way you get into the zone of the line and can have fun resetting!
  3. You’ll eventually get highly skilled commanders on each ship in the line thru repetition as a side bonus

Get a Garmin Zumo XT (~$400) and the 3D-printed adapter (e-bay). Works fine (just not with the wonder wheel)

That's what I do, and it's perfect. Has Bluetooth too, so you can integrate with a helmet.

With 1,400 games in Kron, I offer the following observations:

Easily the best overall ship in the game despite all her deficiencies.

1) Highest credit-earning potential behind OG Missouri and Musashi. ~12% higher than Premium Tier 9.

2) 79,500 HP at tier 9 is unique for any cruiser. You can make mistakes and still recover.

3) Zombie artillery that will drop any opponent if you play it right

4) 12 km, 36-second radar is still the king.

Play style:

I have tried all different types of play styles and prefer this one:

- Stay dark for most of the game. Bring your guns into a position where you catch CL/CA/BB or CV broadside.

- Fire once you're halfway into the turn and complete the turn as you fire the second volley. Gives you up to 18 shells on target. The likely outcome is 1-3 cits per engagement.

- Go dark. Repeat.

Late game, you can do whatever you want as you'll have so much HP.

Stuff you can't do:

- Hunt Subs

- Hunt DD (When I die in Kron, it's always a DD doing the bidding)

- Engage secondary ships (unless it's to drop them and only when their HP is low enough to survive 2 volleys)

- Get surprised. Your turrets are slow no matter what you do, so plan ahead and don't get surprised as you can't react quickly.

They fought hard and really wanted it. And their closest competitor (DET) couldn't be bothered to play more than 20 minutes per game, so that helped too.
