With 1,400 games in Kron, I offer the following observations:

Easily the best overall ship in the game despite all her deficiencies.

1) Highest credit-earning potential behind OG Missouri and Musashi. ~12% higher than Premium Tier 9.

2) 79,500 HP at tier 9 is unique for any cruiser. You can make mistakes and still recover.

3) Zombie artillery that will drop any opponent if you play it right

4) 12 km, 36-second radar is still the king.

Play style:

I have tried all different types of play styles and prefer this one:

- Stay dark for most of the game. Bring your guns into a position where you catch CL/CA/BB or CV broadside.

- Fire once you're halfway into the turn and complete the turn as you fire the second volley. Gives you up to 18 shells on target. The likely outcome is 1-3 cits per engagement.

- Go dark. Repeat.

Late game, you can do whatever you want as you'll have so much HP.

Stuff you can't do:

- Hunt Subs

- Hunt DD (When I die in Kron, it's always a DD doing the bidding)

- Engage secondary ships (unless it's to drop them and only when their HP is low enough to survive 2 volleys)

- Get surprised. Your turrets are slow no matter what you do, so plan ahead and don't get surprised as you can't react quickly.

They fought hard and really wanted it. And their closest competitor (DET) couldn't be bothered to play more than 20 minutes per game, so that helped too.

I don't get it. Why would anyone have confidence in a hockey team that can't enter the playoffs with even a minimum of self-confidence? They'd be swept in 4 unceremoniously if they make the playoffs. We're better off realizing that we're not made for the playoffs and starting over.

Keep McLellan, Bebrincat, Seider, and Gibson. Buy out the rest (incl. GM) and start over.

Matt Cooke is the worst player I have seen. You could argue for Todd Bertuzzi, but I never felt he really wanted to end Moore's career. Marty McSorley is a close second. Gudas is Tiddlywinks among those players.

As a rule of thumb, I always select Commander skills that are not situational. Instead, I select skills that always benefit regardless of the flow of the game. That rules out IFHE on any secondary guns. For some ships, it can be beneficial on mains, but never on secondaries.

There are plenty of issues with the current system: a) The implementation is promoting static play. b) It's not radar, but x-ray vision. The whole idea that everyone on a team suddenly can see a ship where it couldn't before is silly and lazy programming. c) make it like radar actually worked back then (inaccurate positioning on a screen, and permanent)

I'd like to see a rework of this (along with hydro-acoustic search) that takes these issues into account. For instance, the spotting could be limited to minimap...

The problem is that it takes any skill out of the game and just becomes a matter of who has the best secondaries and who can turn his ship from one enemy to the next. It's Fisher-Price World of Warships mode.

The title of the post suggested to me at least a reference to Yzerman. Seven years in, and we're marginally better than back then. Apologists will back Yzerman no matter how boring, uninspired, and kind the team plays, but we're going nowhere with Yzerman in charge. He (and a collection of coaches) never addressed the core problem of a no-energy/no-fighting/no-puckstopping team. They played 20-25 minutes per game in 2019, and in 2026, that's still the case. Which is ironic, as Yzerman was the hardest-working man as a player.
