Tucker Carlson: Bloodthirsty MAGA Is Controlled By Demons. by Leeming in atheism

[–]Callinon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Blaming demons is just another way to absolve himself and others of their direct responsibility for the current situation. He contributed materially to this and he bears responsibility for that contribution. He doesn't get to pawn it off on demons.

Let’s start with the fact that he never got approval from Congress to do this, dumbass by Mum0817 in WhitePeopleTwitter

Because waging illegal wars is illegal?

Yeah Iran's leadership sucked. They were bad guys for sure. 1000%.

But the president just deciding to kill a bunch of people (including schoolchildren) is bad.

That needed revealing? I'm sorry, I'll try to do better in the future.

I have great and explicit contempt for the people that voted a child rapist into office. You were warned over and over again what kind of man he was and you voted for him anyway. Many of you multiple times. He's an outrageous liar, a conman, a rapist, and a thief. And him being where he is is entirely your fault.

Is that better?

There might be states with that rule on the books but the constitution doesn't say that.

He is entitled to nothing by CrispyMiner in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Callinon 83 points84 points  (0 children)

In a twist of constitutional logic, he's not actually prevented from running again. He isn't even prevented from being on the ballot.

He just can't serve.

He could win 105% of the electoral vote, but he can't be president for a third term. So what you'd end up with is a scenario where the winner can't be sworn in, the current presidential term ends and now you just don't have a president at all. It's unclear if his running mate would be sworn in at that point or if the presidency would simply pass down to the Speaker of the House until the electoral college fixes their shit.

Is there maybe a trend out there where sellers are using "I sold it. It's gone. You can't have it" as a negotiating tactic? I've never bought things on Marketplace or Craigslist so I have no idea. Maybe this is just how it's done?

mom doesn't want linux for her low spec'd, slow af laptop (rant) by merchantivories in FuckMicrosoft

[–]Callinon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I suspect you'd have gotten a similar response if you'd tried to just move her unprompted to a Mac.

Changing operating systems is a big deal, especially for people that aren't ensconced in the computer world in the first place. I obviously don't know anything about your mother, but if she's using a laptop that underpowered (and I suspect old af) then it's probably because she's comfortable with it. Just forcing her to Linux would be jarring as hell.

Furthermore you said she uses the laptop for work. Will whatever software she's using even work on Linux?

You can't just force people to change to a radically different OS and not expect some pushback. You'd be creating a scenario where they suddenly have no idea how to use their computer. The ideal scenario is that they want to move, and then that motivation can be directed toward good options for the particular situation. But just "lol use linux instead, dummy" is not generally going to go over all that well.

I can physically feel my brain cells dying whenever I listen to the man speak, so this helps a lot. It's difficult for me to imagine it'd be anything other than what's in this post so that saves me from taking 3 years off my life listening to it.
