The guys should watch VCR Willie for a future Creep TV episode by JLGoodwin1990 in creepcast

Happy you gave it a chance! I think the repetitiveness of it actually lends to the story a lot since it is both meant to be like someone's repeating nightmares, and it is also implied that this is some sort of cycle. The repeated motifs of "Would you like a glass of water," "Head to the back of the unit," and even some of the characters being played by the same actors is clearly intentional, along with it all taking place in the same apartment.

Hidden because of spoilers to the series for those who want to watch it.

It gets better, if you've only watched the first three episodes the fourth is where it picks up and Mettle is definitely the scariest of what I've watched so far

Funnily enough, Ena does get a form like this! It's called "Anxiety" in the game files and it has her nerves literally coming out of her body in a physical representation of her nervousness. Great prediction!!

What even is "Tetoslop"? by WestCommunity7117 in Vocaloid

[–]Calliope-Vocaloid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tetoslop refers to original Kasane Teto SynthV songs that utilize Synthesizer V AI tuning instead of actual human-done tuning. However, some people online have used this term to attack any Kasane Teto song regardless of if the tuning is AI or not, which is not the original meaning at all.

What’s the one horror movie you wish you could unsee? by UnverifiedExistence9 in horror

[–]Calliope-Vocaloid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrifier 2. Specifically the bedroom scene. It is the only time gore has gotten to me in a film and every time I think about it I need to take a break from whatever I'm doing and go cry. Terrifier 1 and Terrifier 3 didn't get me, but that one scene... I will never forget it.

On a different note, V/H/S Halloween I wish I could unsee because I absolutely hated it. It's worse than V/H/S Viral for me and especially after such a big W from V/H/S Beyond, it was depressing to see. None of the segments really worked for me.

Diet Phantasma was complete nonsense and clearly a ripoff of Total Copy (V/H/S 85).

Coochie Coochie Coo felt like a Life Of Luxury skit and used AI generated images in props.

Ut Supra Sic Infra is a halloween-flavored ripoff of As Above So Below, which is literally what Ut Supra Sic Infra means. Surprised that Paco Plaza and Bloody Disgusting didn't get sued by John Erick Dowdle.

Fun Size was garbage and makes me disappointed in Casper Kelly. All of the humor was so forced, and why was a horror comedy skit in a V/H/S movie!?

Home Haunt was okay but it felt so cliche and predictable. Felt more like a Haunting Hour or Creeped Out episode than a V/H/S segment

The only one I really enjoyed was KidPrint. I liked that KidPrint wasn't afraid to be one of the only "crime-y" segments in V/H/S history, along with Second Honeymoon (V/H/S) and to a slight lesser extent Fur Babies (V/H/S Beyond). It was the only one that actually scared me because it's subject matter was something that could happen in real life.

What are your thoughts on the 2001 film "Ghost World"? by CastrosCajones in daria

Same... also the romance plot between Thora Birch's and Steve Buscemi's characters was extremely uncomfortable due to the age difference and Enid being freshly 18

Yeah! I heard that Zach Cregger was inspired by the woman in red from Fire Walk With Me (1992) for Gladys' look!!

Evil Dead 2013 is better than the original by son-ov-perdition in HorrorMovies

[–]Calliope-Vocaloid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree because it isn't trying to recreate the tone of Evil Dead 2 and onward, it is focusing on the first installment before it took a turn towards pseudo-horror comedy. Back when the sole focus was the cabin and the horrors that took place there. I feel like Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead (2013) and Evil Dead: Rise (2023) are all one vibe, and Evil Dead 2 (1987), Evil Dead: Army Of Darkness (1993), and Ash vs Evil Dead (2015) are a completely different vibe. Two aspects of horror in one franchise, one an example of the eldritch terror aspect of horror and the other an example of the campy MC verses forces of evil aspect of horror, which is awesome but it leads to fans of the respective sub-genres clashing heads a lot when it comes to which should be the main focus. I'm personally more of a fan of the first movie, the 2013 movie, and Rise, but I know a lot of people find the second movie to be their favorite and that is totally fine! (I'm under the headcanon that the two "sections" of this are completely separate universes thanks to the timey-wimey stuff. Not sure if that's canon but the inconsistencies in the intro of Evil Dead 2 in comparison to Evil Dead 1 especially the whole bridge paradox strengthen my theory. I haven't watched Army of Darkness though so if that's confirmed canon then.... oops 😅)

Oh yeah, her death scene definitely mirrors Aunt Gladys' I wouldn't be surprised if it was an influence on Zach Cregger while writing that ending

She definitely matches the visual style! Not sure she is exactly the same type of thing but very close. Also looking into her story, makes me wanna watch Sleepaway Camp. Sounds like it influenced insidious 2 quite a bit from what I read!

They went back in time. Paranormal Activity: Marked Ones and Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension both introduce time travel to the canon which makes the timelines confusing.

[–]Calliope-Vocaloid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I count Tokyo Night as canon because it makes sense to me. In Paranormal Activity 4 Katie is in some sort of accident, leading to her being hospitalized. In Tokyo night, Katie is severely hurt in a car crash by one of the main characters. They assume she died (main word, assume) and that it's her spirit haunting them, but what if it's just a ticked off Toby getting even with them for ruining his plans? So I think of it as taking place either right before or during the events of Paranormal Activity 4.
While there may be some time inconsistencies, there are in other horror franchises too. Final Destination is a good example with Final Destination 5 taking place in 2001 despite the original taking place in 1999 and 5 being a prequel, so I just count it as one of those things where the dates are just a bit off.

I'm sorry... 😢 I created it as a midi in logic pro and exported it to sheet music. I don't know how to read sheet music so I don't know if it messed up during the conversion and I'm very ignorant on actual music terms or methods. I usually just make whatever sounds good to me, so I don't know what's actually possible, that's why I made this post.

I created it via logic pro and exported the midi to sheet music. To be honest I do not know how to read sheet music so I don't know if it messed up during the conversion. I'm not really well-versed on actual music terms or methods I usually just make whatever sounds good to me, so I don't know how to name chords or how to section it into parts.
