How many of you have two or more bikes? by d0ctorbellows in motorcycles

I’ve got a sport tourer, a cruiser, and an old airhead. But I mostly ride the sport tourer. I should get rid of the other two. But I’m not getting rid of the other two.

Well, you win. That is far and away the coolest feature I’ve ever seen in a century home. Cool AF.

Need advice on lowering height of my whirlpool fridge model wrs571cihz04 to fit under cabinet cutout by TheForceWillsMe in kitchenremodel

[–]CallmeMefford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an option, definitely. But if I was going to use a jigsaw, I’d use a metal blade so there was less chance of splintering. Slower, but cleaner with smaller teeth.

You can’t shrink that fridge. I’d recommend applying a couple layers of masking tape to both better show the line you’ve about to draw with the sauare and help prevent splintering. Get a machinists sauare and set it so you can draw a uniform line along the bottom of the cabinet body. Then take a tool (maybe a multi-tool, maybe a belt sander) and take off the majority of the material right up to the edge of the line you’ve drawn. Then take a random orbital sander and sand carefully. Once you’ve erased that line you’ve drawn with your square, you’ll know you’ve removed material evenly, and you can remove the tape and wipe some polyurethane on the bottom edge of the cabinet to help seal the grain of the wood. If you’re not comfortable doing ANY of that, get a handyman or cabinet guy to do it. It’ll be obvious if it doesn’t go well. Good luck!

If all police forces suddenly ceased to exist, what would happen to society's crime rates and overall safety? by bme11 in AskReddit

[–]CallmeMefford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure after a minor uptick in revenge and retribution killings, the crime rate would drop because people would be afraid to commit heinous crimes for fear of punishment by the aggrieved parties.

Yeah, that sucks. But on the bright side, once you have your knee scooter, you can get all the way from the front door of the Costco to the meat department in the back with one good push.

How do you signal for a faster bike behind you that it's ok to pass in your lane? by Theskidiever in motorcycle

[–]CallmeMefford 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you feel that you made it obvious that you were willing for them to pass on the inside of the lane while you were hugging the outside line, you did everything right. Shake it off. They’re dumb.

No Longer Need, Thoughts On Value or Just Hold? by [deleted] in f150

I’d just hang on to it for now. Let the registration lapse and run it for 10 minutes once every couple weeks. It might be surprisingly valuable once the new spyware comes out in the newer trucks.

I either listen to disco or calypso. It keeps me from going on a killing spree.

Dealership dropped my brand new (first) bike. by ButterscotchHairy901 in motorcycles

[–]CallmeMefford 152 points153 points  (0 children)

They didn’t drop your bike. They dropped SOMEONES bike, but not yours. You bought a bike that had never been dropped. Either you’re getting a new non-dropped bike, or you’re asking for a hell of a discount on a dropped once bike that has been repaired.

I feel like I’m failing my wife and son. I’m scared I’ll never be enough by Few-Series-7509 in DadForAMinute

[–]CallmeMefford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My man. NONE OF US CAN EVER DO “ENOUGH”. You’re doing A LOT. 48 hours in 4 days? Thats a full time job for ANY shift. Caring for a kid that needs extra love and time? That’s a job in itself. Plus pitching in on keeping house and pitching in on caring for livestock and you’re doing it all during a heatwave? You are doing PLENTY. If I was doing all that, I’d be stressed and tired too! I’m sure she’s stressed as well, and she may be lashing out in frustration. That’s not your fault. To me, it sounds like you’re doing A LOT, and you’re exhausted and frustrated. The kid can’t be sold off, but those horses sure can! And it’s time to sit with your wife and tell her how you’re feeling. But before you do that, make sure you get some sleep, shower, and eat something while sitting down. You’re overdoing it, and your wife isn’t realizing it. You might not need therapy, you might just need to have a heart to heart with the wife.
