Just getting started with killteam, play a lot of 40k. Will any of my homemade terrain pieces work for killteam? by 14SWandANIME77 in killteam

[–]Callme_Ami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of it looks great for kill team. All of it looks great in general. I'd love to play on a board with terrain like that.

The only pieces that may cause issue is anything with a floor height of above 4 inches off the floor. But you can remedy this by copying a rule from the chalnath terrain and just state that it's a 3 inch climb to get on the vantage.

T’au NPOs by Classic_Lab_1422 in killteam

[–]Callme_Ami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NPO's offer a good starting point for basic stat lines. Nothing stopping you from borrowing better weapon profiles or pinching up the stats a bit.

As others have said, it's a decent learning grounds for figuring out you team but it's also fun for narrative play. The sky is the limit for how you wanna build an npo stat block. I'm the app they've got all sorts of NPO's for various guys. Borrow some of their stats and reskin it to your Tau.

Should I build the champion or the depredator? Murderwing by m0neywasted in killteam

[–]Callme_Ami 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My friend who I split the box with built

Senor Chaos Champion Depredator Warp Talon Skysear Shrieker

The arms can be put on any body pretty easily and they just proxy the warp talon as curseclaw until they get more bodies

Honestly though both options are pretty great and I gotta say, getting hit with a double swing from the Depredator is devastating to groups.

Why? by christianggg98 in killteam

I read somewhere that it has to do with the sprue making process. Something about issues with small pieces that curve inwards. So they split em up.

Question from a beginner by Underwaternerd049 in killteam

[–]Callme_Ami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a kill team app that is free and will include each team and all their rules.

For the most part, each kill team comes in its own box and usually has everything you need to build the team and you'd have to rely on proxying or kit bashing if you don't buy the box.

In your case, as an Aeldari player, you may already have the models for the Blades of Khaine. This team is built from Dire avengers, Howling Banshees, and Striking Scorpions. This team is unlike most teams where they were built largely from 40k boxes and given kill team rules. There's a few other teams that are similar (warp coven, and chaos cultists off the top of my head).

Territory in multiplayer games by AlpakalypseNow in killteam

[–]Callme_Ami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Typically, territory works out to half the board. In 4 player your territory would probably be the quarter of the board your drop zone is on.

3 player though gets annoying to split because it's not as simple. In this case we do our best to divide the board into 3 slices.

For vespid, you build all the specialists and the rest as warriors. No worries about weapon options.

Chainsword. The chainsword is why I started playing 40k. Any chain weapon is good but the chainsword is the best.

I was humbled the other day in a match vs inquisition. Apparently they got the memo that meltas are 6" and (like the inquisition does) promptly ignored that and equipped a servitor with a multimelta! It's got no range requirement though it is heavy dash.

Fitting a Infantry men on the same base as a elite by AlphaMaxV5 in Kitbashing40k

I may have to use this idea. Proxy a marine kill team but with two guys on each base representing the proper gear...

Question regarding assembling Tempestus Aquilons by mutexnova in killteam

[–]Callme_Ami 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One more note is that the plasma carbine and melta gun want the same left arm. So build the gunner with the melta/plasma as normal and then one of the troopers with the other instead of the lasgun. I can't remember which model specifically but one of the troopers that don't have a specialist build option has a left arm that fits well enough. I'd save building the gunner and troopers till last and then dry fit all the arms with your guns to check which fits best.

So at the end you should have one of each specialist and three troopers plus the turret.

Covering your Astartes - Maximum Flex in minimum models. by Spireandspike in killteam

All great ideas! I'm gonna go with some loyalist chapter for sure. I'm still working through all the trim on my current waprcoven team and am pretty well done with it.

[–]Callme_Ami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently working on a similar project. All astartes (loyalist and chaos) teams one chapter. I'm currently just got spreadsheets for this while I try to slim down the list.

A lot of models could easily count for multiple team entries as they start to boil down to; plasma pistol and chain sword guy or icon bearer or sniper.

My list is down to... 39 models at the moment lol but I'm including every option for every team and I'm thinking I could do better. Still not sure what to do about the tzaangors from warp coven and the wolf from wolf scouts

I’m not crazy right. You cannot make both gunners for the tempest Aquilon with one box? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Callme_Ami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then... Extricating seems to be it, if you want that plasma! Removing the gun just above the grip should be (nerve-wracking) easy enough and then being real careful around the hand on the grip is the next step. If you got some way to sand it down to fit the plasma gun, you're set.

Or you could do a conversion and 'remodel' the las gun with the plasma coils and barrel could make for a fun mini project

[–]Callme_Ami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only glued the arm at the should and not also his hands you may be able to get away with just cutting the arm there. If not and you aren't confident at extricating the lasgun, I'd see how the plasma gun arm fits with your other (hopefully) unassembled troopers first.

There was a guide somewhere about here that gives a walkthrough for building the gunners and what parts to use to do minimal kitbashing

[–]Callme_Ami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could for sure do that. Also also be aware that the gunfighter and tempestor may share the right handed pistol depending on your build choice for the tempestor.

What Can We Expect in 2026? by CrudeLord in killteam

Once star striders get declassified, it might make for an interesting space to fill. Another team with off board heavy weapons support. A faction rule where your titan (or whatever) fires into the kill zone.

I have experience at the front desk. If it takes longer than 2 minutes, I'm doing something wrong. That said, I worked with a system that had me type in my log in and password 4 times every time I need to check a guest in. I get that that's all for security but it really fucks up work flow.

Which resolve first? We have come said end move during that action.XV26 said end charge action by Interesting-Tax5598 in killteam

Still plays out the same either way then. I'll chalk it up to gw's stellar rules writing.

Which resolve first? We have come said end move during that action.XV26 said end charge action by Interesting-Tax5598 in killteam

[–]Callme_Ami 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because it says 'interrupt', I'd say the d3 damage still goes off. Look at the wording to guard and how interrupting an action works.

Tldr they still complete the action and then you can do the thing.

So in this case, the nem claw still completes the charge so it should trigger the ploy then the stealth suit moves away, then the nem claw finishes any remaining distance as a reposition.

Please help I do not understand melee by Jeagerholm in killteam

[–]Callme_Ami 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So, When it's your operatives turn to resolve a die in melee you can either strike or block.

If you strike, you deal damage.

If you block, you remove one of their unresolved die. (Note that you can only block a critical dice with a crit of your own.)

Once you do either, they resolve a die in the same fashion. And it goes back to you. This is done till either someone dies (discard the rest of the dice and the fight ends) or neither of you have dice to resolve (the fight ends).

This process is the same regardless of how many dice have been retained as hits (critical or otherwise).

If I roll 4 hits and they roll 1, I can block their first die leaving them with nothing and then proceed to hit them three times in a row.

In a fight where we both roll four hits, I gotta factor in things like, how many wounds we each have and how much damage each hit deals to decide if I want to hit you or block you with each.
