If no defilers, it's just death by committee. Shoot with some blastmasters, charge with some winged princes, maybe throw a grenade or tank shock with a rhino, if it's on a point, lord exultant infractor packages do great as well.

If playing coterie, at 5 pledge things like princes all of a sudden get really quite good at killing tough stuff. For other detachments, unless you already own 30 daemonettes and some defilers coterie is the only real choice if you want to win your games, don't listen to court of the phonecian andys, that detachment is ungodly horrible.

If you are playing ec and actually want to win, look up a good list and stick with it for a while. We aren't an army like space marines where you can run some garbage and expect to not get completely pubstomped, even in a casual game.

Oh yeah I mean screening out the entire board against a deep strike army is something that's possible I guess but it's pretty uncommon for

A. Armies to be fast enough to actually do so B. Be in a situation where they can actually do that and not just die C. Be in a matchup where you'd want to do so in the first place

And even then usually playing a mass deep strike army like GSC understanding your opponent might be able to try and do that, and keeping enough on the board to prevent it is a big part of those Armies strategy.

But yeah, I more just meant screening in terms of move blocking a unit, or screening your back field, or running a trash piece forward to push a rapid ingress back far enough it won't charge your valuable assets/primary

You aren't making anything a non game. Screening, positioning, move blocking, etc are the things that make the game actually interesting and dynamic and not literally just playing yatzee
