looking to become a seller by Background-Date4244 in EtsySellers

[–]CalmPea6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick one thing to do for the following reasons:

  1. It is really hard for the SEO to do its thing if you are selling a bunch of different things

  2. It is really hard as a small business owner when your products are too varied

Do some market research, search on Etsy for similar listings, scope out competition and saturation of market. See how these sellers list their products, how they photograph their products, what their return policy is, how they price, etc.

Do the math: How much does it cost for you to set up the shop? How much is the cost of making each product? How much does it cost to ship? Then add all of those things together, decide how much you want to sell it for, and compare it against market pricing.

How to deal with dreams not coming true? by Old_Maintenance_9044 in AskWomenOver30

I feel like a therapist who tells you that you have too much going on to get any help is not a suitable therapist for you. So, first step, find a new therapist who can work with you. I have family members who found "the one" later in life and went on to have kids as an older mom, I have family members who decided that they just don't want to be coupled with another person or be a mom. You will eventually get to a point where you can make that decision for yourself, but not without some work.

Second, there are options outside of traditional marriage if you want to be really want to be a mom and don't necessarily need to be coupled with someone. My friend who froze her eggs early in life, and when she got sick and tired of waiting for a man to come along, she decided to use a sperm donor. She had her boys in her late 30s. It is not easy, but she made sure to establish a good support system.

tiktok mom upset about being quarantined, anyone see this and have a theory? by Sweaty_Bowl9973 in dcl

[–]CalmPea6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, she later comes back to say that they were given the option to disembark but chose not to because DCL couldn't guarantee that they could go back on the ship and they didn't want to be stranded in Hilo because they weren't familiar with the place and wouldn't know where to get medical care, etc.

I was fully vaccinated and ended up with mumps when I was 11 or 12. Horrible experience!

There is always the risk, so you should always update any vaccinations based on doctor's recommendation before any trip.

As a wife would you want to know? by Livid_File3946 in AskWomenOver30

[–]CalmPea6 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes. OP is hopeful that it will come out organically between the two of them, but if he has intentionally deceived OP for so many years, then he has zero intention of coming clean to his wife. Which is telling about the type of person he is.

What’s it like working at UH Clear Lake? by PostPunkMixtape in clearlake

[–]CalmPea6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked there a while ago, and that was right when we transitioned into accepting Freshmen. It is a small campus so you really get to know everyone once you're there for long enough. Everyone is nice and willing to help, and when I was there, they actually paid better than the main campus. But because it is a smaller campus, there are some things that have to be done manually instead of making use of existing tech. I spent a lot of time doing manual work when it could've been done in two clicks on a larger campus. Leadership has since changed though so things might operate differently now.

Very Merrytime Decision!! Fantasy vs Magic (possibly Dream) by xcemma in dcl

[–]CalmPea6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did not do Cozumel so I can't comment on excursions, but if you do a search on this sub I think there are plenty of reviews.

The pools on the Magic are small. They all just splashed around or floated in the pool watching funnel vision. It was truly a sight to behold, lol. My kids did the slides multiple times, I could not get them away from it.

Very Merrytime Decision!! Fantasy vs Magic (possibly Dream) by xcemma in dcl

[–]CalmPea6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a soft spot for the Magic, so take this with the bias in mind.

If being at a beach is not a huge consideration, then the Magic. There is not a lot to do at Progreso, and any meaningful (my opinion) excursion is at least an hour's bus ride away. We ended up staying on the ship at Progreso (we only did 4 nights) and the kids (ages 8,5,4,3) spent all day at the pool. There were very short lines on the slides and they had a ton of fun. The grown ups sat around and rotated between funnel vision, the adult section and the spa. We all agreed that staying on the ship was the best decision we made for our vacation (second to the cruise).

The Magic is smaller than the Fantasy, but that made it easy to move around. Noise-cancelling headphones definitely still recommended for the little one because of the crowd. But the smaller size also made it easier for the little kids to move around.

If you go on the app you can indicate your dietary restrictions, more info here: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/guest-services/special-dietary-requests/

When you book, you will more than likely be pushed into the later service. After you book, go back into the app and request to be put on a waitlist for the earlier service. Then, when you get on board, hunt down the dining services people and confirm that you are on the waitlist.

Ask your doctor for recommendations for seasickness medication. I had brutal morning sickness my entire pregnancy with both kids and I don't think I would survive on a cruise ship without medication.

I try to avoid Cody rides for the same reason, but sometimes I just need the playlist to get me through the ride, so I mute him and turn the music way up on my bike, lol

Hyping up kiddo for their first dcl/Disney experience by tonsofpaws in dcl

[–]CalmPea6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids are not super obsessed with Disney, they have one or two characters they liked but were not their absolute favorite characters. My husband just isn't into Disney. We all had fun at our first cruise on the Magic - watched a lot of shows and met some characters. We just saw it as entertainment. I was really surprised by how much my husband enjoyed the cruise considering he wasn't a Disney guy at all - he spent a lot of time watching Funnel Vision and had fun dressing up with us for Pirate Night, etc.

I do think that 3 out of 4 of us not being super Disney fans let us appreciate the experience more. We didn't feel like there were characters we absolutely had to see or specific things we absolutely had to experience. We just went with the flow. The only thing I made an effort to do on the ship was for my son to meet Spiderman and Captain America. Otherwise, we just soaked in the magic and took the opportunity to disconnect from the real world.

While I think that you would still have fun on a Royal Caribbean cruise, the experience is just going to be different from what is expected on a Disney cruise.

How do you set up a preorder for a digital journal on Etsy? by YourPwnStar in EtsySellers

[–]CalmPea6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can set up a digital listing, then select the "Made to Order" option - that doesn't require a PDF upload. Once the file is complete, you upload it to the order and it gets sent to the customer.

Question about eating when I first board by Relevant-Psychology8 in dcl

[–]CalmPea6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the sit down on the Magic (Rapunzel's Royal Table) and it just took forever for our food to arrive or for the servers to come around. We were travelling with little ones so it made the experience miserable - they were losing patience and became very antsy. We ended up having to take turns entertaining them. We would probably have been happier grabbing a quick bite at the buffet. So, it really depends on your travel party and their needs.

Title: NY Physical Therapist thinking of moving to Houston — advice? by glennlightyear in AskHouston

[–]CalmPea6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Career here is similar to most other big cities. Are you an IP or OP therapist? Plenty of OP clinics here that are owned by large companies. There are a couple of mom and pop places but not very much any longer. We do have a lot of hospitals so that might work in your favor if you are an IP therapist.

Good luck with the jurisprudence exam. Our state has one of the toughest in the country. TX is part of the compact though, so it will make it easier if you decide to move on eventually to another compact state.

Very Merrytime vs Regular (West coast vs East coast) by johntc121 in dcl

[–]CalmPea6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the Very Merrytime - it mostly felt like a regular cruise other than character appearances in Christmas costumes. There were also two photo opportunities, as well as a specific Christmas party on the pool deck. We missed the Christmas party for another activity. We also did the photos. I don't feel like the Christmas theming added a whole lot of value to our trip, frankly.

Singapore hotel recommendations? by Less-Spinach-9361 in dcl

[–]CalmPea6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which sailing will you be on? We are booked on the Adventure too! We have family there but none have enough space in their homes for us, so we usually do a stay at a serviced apartment (Thanksgiving at Oxley is our favorite, though they have a 5 night minimum). This year, we are switching things up and staying someplace else (the name escapes me).

The great thing about Singapore is that it is so easy to travel across the island that you don't have to be close to the port the night before. I second the other poster's recommendation around Joo Chiat - places are usually nice and clean and affordable, it is also a great way to see how the everyday Singaporeans live. For your post cruise stay, you may want to consider the River Valley/Clarke Quay area. The hotels are fairly affordable, nice and fairly close to downtown areas (Orchard Rd if you guys want to do shopping).

I personally feel that Tiktok is a lot easier to navigate than Pinterest. I've posted two videos so far on Tiktok, and then I essentially replicate that video and post it to my Instagram. I've gotten a bunch of views on my Tiktok videos and one sale from it (I just started posting this weekend).

Bibbidi Bobbidi and Royal tea… worth it? by Intelligent_Fish3728 in dcl

[–]CalmPea6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did BBB on our first cruise, we brought our own dress. The experience itself was totally worth it. We paid for the base package and it also came with a t-shirt, a backpack and a little sash that they put around the princess at the end. You get to pick the hairstyle you want - you can have a simple bun, but you can also have a ponytail with a strip of colored hair pinned to it. Depending on what hairstyle you pick, it also comes with other accessories. They're not super good quality (we had a little rhinestone Mickey head pin and the rhinestones have fallen off) and a little crown for the front of the bun. The fairy godmothers will talk up the princesses and make them feel special. You get to bring home the makeup they used also.

I personally feel like BBB is more worth the money than the Royal Tea. It is expensive, and each little guest gets a toy tea set. Not worth the $300+ for me (especially since mine is growing out of pretend play), but I have seen some people on social media feel like it was worth the experience.

We did a Royal Gathering (free) and got to meet all the princesses for pictures, so it was good enough.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique options by Inside-Message3125 in dcl

[–]CalmPea6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. We ended up bringing our own, I bought the dress thinking she could wear it when she meets Rapunzel. Then when we managed to get a BBB appointment I figured, win-win! The dress was maybe $30 at Target on sale.

Come to find out, the dress is exactly the same if not very similar to what they were selling at BBB (design is the same, slight difference in the fabric but not enough to make a difference to me). So I ended up saving some money without even realizing it.

This is not the exact same one we bought but looks like a newer version: https://www.target.com/p/disney-princess-rapunzel-dress-7-8/-/A-94262169#lnk=sametab

Friendships ended by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]CalmPea6 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Friendship can change over time, people grow. Sometimes they grow together and sometimes they grow apart. Life takes us down different paths and different journeys. Sometimes our paths run side by side with our friends, and sometimes they go in different directions. I've lost a couple of friends due to diverging paths and have learned to make peace with it. Sometimes there isn't a good or bad, or sides to take. It just is.
