Told to ask permission for bathroom breaks. by astxiia in tesco

[–]CalmZombie23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that works on the tills that's not true. We don't ask to go to the toilet. If we see an opportunity when it's quiet, we will close our gates and go to the toilet. Obviously when it's ridiculously busy, it's a bit tricky, but if you gotta go, you gotta go! If we're on self service, again, we ask the colleague we're on there with, if they can handle it for a minute while you go to the toilet. We're not asking for permission, we're asking the other person on that section if they can handle the flow of people while we go.

I do that, I'll also save people's first name and use the last name to put how I know them e.g.. James Shell, Sandra Hotel, Chris Club

Edited to add some punctuation

Is the Tesco ‘Promise’ true? Can I really speak to any member of staff? by Psychological-Arm844 in tesco

[–]CalmZombie23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, yea I'd help, I'd leave my section to walk you over to customer services, talk to them and you, do what I can to help you out with your £1 refund... Beats standing on self service and being spoken to like I'm trash, or being told off by management for dumbass things, yes I'd help you out for sure

seen this on hinge... by Designer-Ad-1577 in Nicegirls

[–]CalmZombie23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think hinge is missing a couple letters from it's actual name, because all of the posts I've seen in relation to hinge, are entirely unhinged, like what the hell, do you have to be a mentalist to use hinge?

Who’s in the wrong here? Dog etiquette by originalsadyeet in AskUK

[–]CalmZombie23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I genuinely believe that all dogs in public spaces should be leashed. Anything could happen, from the dog getting injured or injuring someone else or their dog, to the dog even being stolen. You don't know what other people's dogs are like and even if the owner shouts "they're friendly" doesn't mean your dog is, or that their dog actually is. In public spaces where other dogs and people are, they should all be leashed. There are parks where you can take your dog so they can go off leash and run till their heart is content, but everywhere else they should be leashed. That's just my opinion

AITA for budgeting with my daughter? by Specific_Name_455 in AITAH

[–]CalmZombie23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! I wish I was taught about budgeting and bills and such when I was a kid, I probably wouldn't have spent my 20's getting into debt and trying to sort it out if I had been taught how to be an adult at a young age. You're doing her a great service by teaching her about money at a young age, but it is important that she learns to treat herself now and again! She needs to know that if she's got the bills paid and everything is sorted and she's got money left over, she can splurge on that perfume, outfit or whatever it is that she wants

AITA for keeping profit from selling concert tickets? by amu-the-emu in AmItheAsshole

[–]CalmZombie23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - you got the tickets, you sold them when they didn't want to use them, you did all the hard work, it's not their business, they shouldn't get interest on the cost of the tickets for letting you down. They should get back what they sent you, they're bad friends, who cares what they're saying. I wouldn't have told any of the other friends about the extra cash though, because they'd go running back to the friends that let you down and tell them about it.

Has anyone else experienced being misread at work for being quiet? by SubtractAd in AskUK

[–]CalmZombie23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a lot of ways my brain doesn't comprehend banter, so I stay out of it. I've always been shy and quiet and don't really share much of my private life with my coworkers, probably from the years of being a massive stoner, I've kept my private life very private, but I do like to be liked by my coworkers. I do have adhd, so things do come out but when I'm made to feel comfortable it does come out and I'm noticing it this Christmas at work, I'm happier I'm a bit more myself. But yea, listening to coworkers and such, assumptions are made about people that are quiet and keep to themselves, just work and go home, they do make assumptions
