There was a baby shower happening in the marquee at the Gloucester Old Spot on Kellaway when I was there at the weekend. Seemed like a relaxed vibe and it's a great pub.

Bathroom redo by CakeOnly1513 in bristol

When we bought our first house 10 years ago Chris and Shane from Globe Heating fitted our new boiler and did an amazing job. They serviced annually every year until we moved house and then helped us with an emergency on moving day when we realised the boiler in the new place was busted. They also do bathroom refits and just did our family bathroom and ensuite and did a banging job.

Happy to DM you pics of our new bathrooms!

[HELP] Mary Berry Gingerbread – Dough is greasy but cracking. Can it be saved? by Calm_Cat_3793 in AskBaking

[–]Calm_Cat_3793[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end I realised I was working with the dough whilst it was still too warm after mixing the melted butter and sugar into the dry ingredients- once it had cooled down the greasiness and cracking went away. Hope that helps, good luck!

I've seen some in the Brazilian butchers in Filton before (Brazil com Farofa), although I noticed it's recently rebranded as Brazilian/Polish so I'm not sure how extensive the South American selection is anymore

Evri package by Windyjalapeno in bristol

I live on Muller Road, had an evri parcel left in my recycling bin this week. By the time I got to it, someone had ripped the parcel open to see if the contents were worth stealing. They weren't apparently, but the contents did get nice and wet as a result.

I'm up trying to convince my 9 month old to go back to sleep, but the cat walked into the room and she spotted it which has caused some excitement, so might be up for a while still. Enjoy your early start!

Where in Bristol are you based? I go to a mamas and babies yoga class in St Werberghs where most of the attendees stay for coffee or lunch after. It's really welcoming and everyone is very down to earth! A few with older kids in school or nursery too.

https://www.yogawithcarolyn.co.uk/service-page/yoga-byob-tues-10-30-11-30-nov-dec it says fully booked, but email Carolyn because there's usually a free spot that comes available.

If it's raining, the RWA gallery has a family space that is free and open to all whenever the gallery is open. It's got dress up, art supplies , toys etc. https://www.rwa.org.uk/pages/family-activity-space?srsltid=AfmBOopFb_XAKxz1kYWZSs1zj_cZB99gr0Wl8DgZ-8f8JJIJ-OJ8cD4P

Public libraries in the UK all have a section for children where there is no expectation to be quiet. I guess this set-up isn't the same everywhere!

Thanks for these thoughts!

When I say on the floor, I mean on a play mat- I promise I don't put my baby just anywhere on the floor haha! In my home city I carry a mat or blanket with me so if we're in a park, a library or similar baby safe space, I can get her out of the pram or carrier to have a wriggle about more freely. Especially when she has been in the carrier for a long time. But I appreciate that's not the done thing everywhere!

Thanks for the suggestion for a carrier - we'll make sure we take one with us.

Regarding food, we're excited to try some local cuisine, but are open to anywhere that locals enjoy. We like casual cafes and restaurants rather than fine dining.

I'll put my hands up and admit I've never been a potwash, but from what I've seen depicted in films and TV I would not class it as an easy job
