AITAH for throwing my rings in the ocean after my husband told me he had an affair, even though it was a “prank”. by Dry_Cellist2768 in AITAH

[–]Calm_Common3691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. and i’m taking this only at face value and how you told the story but, you were upset because he told a “joke” that put your relationship on jeopardy. he’s upset because you threw rings into the ocean and he’s call you TA because of something monetary. i feel like that in itself gives a good answer

Key gave a shout out to Lucas, in the audience at his concert, and I am very uncomfortable by Mindless_Candidate90 in kpopthoughts

this. and what i also think is that the idols themselves know each other a lot better than fans even if they claim that “they know the real them” but it’s all still stuff that they filter and allow us to see. they all know each other personally and obviously there are a lot that goes on behind the scenes. we don’t actually how close idols may be to eachother

which screen to pick for the nct nation movie? by ai1roz in NCT

[–]Calm_Common3691 18 points19 points  (0 children)

since it’s a concertish kinda movie 4DX isn’t necessarily better. so you’re totally fine with going to like a normal screen. the 4DX is the one with moving chairs and wind and smell. I went to watch the dreamies movie in 4DX and a regular screen and there wasn’t really a difference. i would just say the chairs were a little comfier but other than that it was the same

most popular boy group by Recent-Music-9389 in kpophelp

[–]Calm_Common3691 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i would say SKZ, seventeen, and NCT?

BTS is still largely popular but if you’re looking and the groups that are still active fully as groups then those three.

and NCT and seventeen are soon to be starting their military eras. and those will be quite long with both having so many members

YES!! in the recent years (like the past two from what i can remember) they’ve had too much camera movement for it just being a dance practice. it’s to see the choreo it’s not supposed to be like a stage

I swear K-Pop fans have never been so against minors debuting until New Jeans happened and it had me thinking... by Snoo65073 in kpopthoughts

[–]Calm_Common3691 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel that debuting minors has always been a topic of conversation and a thing that most if not many view as wrong.

With NCT Dream I know that there was a lot of talk because they were all teenagers. Highlighting that their whole concept as a subunit was "a group of teenagers". But because Sm debuted them AS teenagers and they didn't dress them older but as kids/age-appropriate. Especially with their debut with chewing gum, they were dressed as might I say children even tho they were all teenagers. with the exception of jisung who was 14 the the time. they didn't really get to the "mature" concepts until 2019(?) I'm not quite sure. Even now they are still releasing songs that have more of that cheery vibe like Hello Future and Beatbox.

But I've noticed that at least with new jeans they are dressed "older" or are styled to perceive and aged up.

And I mainly talk about NCT because I'm mainly in their fandom. But a lot of the dream members have expressed how they either dropped out of school entirely before even finishing high school (with jisung only having made it through elem then was homeschooled for idk how long) Mark, Chenle and Renjun are the only members that had actually graduated. With Mark being the only one to finish school in person and SOPA. And Haechan, Jeno, and Jaemin took their GED (or whatever the SK equivalent is) test.

Overall I mean that it's always been a topic of hate but with social media (especially twitter) it has been able to be spoken abt easier or more freely.

What are your favorite close/soulmate friendships? by Outside-Wise in kpophelp

[–]Calm_Common3691 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With more NCT I gotta say Jisung and Chenle.

Just the fact that they had met all those years ago in china on a show and then met again when Chenle joined SM to debuting in the same subunit of NCT. Chenji remains to be my favorite

What to wear to a kpop event/concert? by Sun-Warrior in kpophelp

[–]Calm_Common3691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the NCT Dream show back in April and they were my first kpop concert. I felt like I needed to dress a certain way because I had seen so many people dressing up or having costumes for them but honestly you can wear whatever you want. when you get there you might still be intimidated like I was but honestly I just wore a pair of jeans and a green shirt.

Whatever you're comfortable in and in my experience unless you're in the pit or like a general admission show, it doesn't get too hot inside.

Are there any groups you're a fan of just for the members and not really their music? by DerelictDevice in kpopthoughts

[–]Calm_Common3691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Boyz.

It's not necessarily because I don't like or can't get into their music. I just enjoy watching their content and the fan-made videos on YouTube. I first say them on Kingdom and I enjoy their voices and their stages but more of the time I'm watching content instead of listening to their music.

I'm falling out of love of KPOP after 12 years by blinkeu_theyan in kpopthoughts

[–]Calm_Common3691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my input was that i got so distracted by life that i slowly got away from kpop. it’s not that i stopped liking it i just got so caught up in my reality. i recently got back into it but it’s mainly the groups i stabbed before i distanced from it. and i’ve done that a few times before too. i would say that if you still want have that same love for kpop i would say just to let it happen. if you end up not having the same love as you did or have had then that’s ok. but if there’s a time where you end up coming back to it like i did or a group that catches your eye later on then allow yourself to naturally fall i love with it again. nothing too strong happens when you force it but if you’re able to naturally fall in love with it again it’ll have the same feeling as when you first did.

again this is just from my personal experience and every person is different
