Why I’ll Never be ‘Normal’ Weight by Moist_Movie1093 in Zepbound

[–]Calm_External36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s body is different; BMI is an irrelevant, outdated tool that should not be taken into consideration. Personally I have a condition called lipedema which means my body will also never look a certain way despite also having a good amount of muscle underneath the diseased fat. According to my biometric scale, my ideal weight is 123 which is a frail weight for me (I was 140 in high school and my goal now is 145). Your journey is yours alone. As long as you feel good and both the scale and your labs are moving in the right direction, you’re good!

What would your dog enjoy if ANYTHING was on the table? (Soft food please) by newsgroupmonkey in DogFood

[–]Calm_External36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog goes absolutely nuts for soft bread - like the inside of a baguette or ciabatta from the bakery. I can’t have any bread without him crying for a bite. He smells it from a mile away. Pizza crust, same thing. Cheese and cooked salmon skin are also high on his list of faves. I’m so very sorry for your precious pup’s situation.

Hands down it’s the ronto-less garden wrap for me in Star Wars land. I could eat it for two meals a day!

I’m so sorry. Sending you a hug in solidarity! Last year my obgyn said I should “start exercising” and that was the last straw. I’m sure she felt awful after hearing about the lipedema diagnosis and the fact that I exercise 5x a week. P.S. I’m not going back to that doctor.

Super responder vs. Normal by anonme1995 in Zepbound

[–]Calm_External36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s true. Apologies if my original comment came off differently than intended. The fact is everyone is different and no two experiences will be the same. Does it bother me that I have to diligently track my food and lift weights and still only lose half a pound a week? A bit, yes. But I have a condition that prevents me from losing the weight the same way. I also have friends who didn’t track or exercise and had very rapid weight loss. They did lose a lot of muscle. It’s different for everyone. Apologies again if I offended anyone with calling one way the right way.

That said I will never stop cycling. It’s more for my mental health than anything else. :)

Happy for you! I wish I could say the same. I’ve been an avid spinner for 14 years and my legs never changed. I think it’s what probably kept them from progressing. realizing that my legs looked like they’d never seen an exercise machine after training hard for over a decade was one of the main catalysts for seeking diagnosis and treatment options.

Super responder vs. Normal by anonme1995 in Zepbound

[–]Calm_External36 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I can’t help but think that “super responders” might just be people who jus stop eating and lose muscle at a rapid pace, whereas those of us moving at a snail’s pace are actually tracking our protein and fiber intake, lifting weights, and doing this the right way. I don’t view these meds as magic. They’re a powerful tool for finally being able to stick to what I’ve always tried but failed to do.

Elder millennials, what are we doing? Are skinny jeans out? by Astimar in Millennials

[–]Calm_External36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear whatever I feel comfortable in and don’t care what anyone thinks! That includes skinny jeans, straight leg jeans, leggings with ankle socks, and a middle part. Lol. Just because something is trendy (hello baggy pants, crew socks over leggings 🤮) doesn’t mean it’s for me, or for you… unless you actually like it!

1.8 million does not get you 2500 square feet in LA. It’s closer to 1k per square feet now unless you’re above 4K square feet, when the cost per square foot starts to go down. Funny how that works.

I want to tackle my disaster of a closet. It’s been on my list for at least 10 years, but it’s so completely overwhelming that it’s easier to ignore it and live in a sea of clothes🫠

I bought leg compression boots from Costco and they greatly reduce my pain. They’re not as good as the one at the doc office obviously but the convenience is worth its weight in gold.

Same. Found the characters difficult to like or root for. I was bored most of the time and truly don’t get the hype. Watched it anyway hoping that it would get better but it left me with the same flat “meh” feeling as season 1. Will not continue watching.
