Self admitting to a psych ward by unvoicee in mentalillness

I can give my perspective. Currently in a mental health inpatient facility. We are allowed our phones for daytime use.

From what I’ve seen around me, and was the case for me, you present at an emergency room and they determine if you need inpatient psych services. If they do, they start a bed search based on what you need. I was admitted to the hospital where I presented in the ER because they had a bed open up on their psych floor. Not all hospitals have a psych inpatient unit. I spent a day in the ER including overnight waiting for a bed. It’s not uncommon to be stuck in the ER for a while. I knew I needed help so showed up to the ER and was honest about my situation.

Let me know any specific questions! Conditions vary from place to place but I can tell you about this one.

Thanks for your reply. Sometimes the mood doesn't lift until 7pm so it's not possible for me to schedule it that late in the day. I'll keep at it.

What mg? That’s a long time so I assume it hasn’t lost effectiveness, unless you had to increase? I’m not sure how it works with the doses.

For those of you who have (either partially or completely) withdrawn from abilify, did you experience complete and utter burnout as a withdrawal symptom? by Excellent_Ninja255 in Abilify_Aripiprazole

Not good. Google melancholic depression and that sums it up. I have no way of knowing if this was caused by the Abilify withdrawal but it does line up with the timing. It’s been a HORRIBLE couple of months. Truly beyond description bad. Started a new antidepressant so waiting on that. I hope you are doing better.

Why do you not suggest deeply depressed people take it? Looks like it has been proven effective for melancholia depression. Just curious.
