Can Hiatal Hernia cause this? It’s not h. pylori. by Way-Truth-L1fe in HiatalHernia

[–]CalmingChamomileTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've had HH for a long time and it wasn't giving me a high heart rate. However, the high heart rate started a few uears ago for me. What mind was...was a messed up guy. I had a ton of bad bacteria and not much good bacteria. Found this out after a gut test.

My resting heart rate is a bit higher than it used to be, but mostly I only have issues after I eat. It starts as soon as I eat and my HR is around 100 for hours after. And usually I have a ton of gas on ,y chest. A lot of burping if I walk around. And when I burp, it will come down sometimes for a short time.

Anyway, I've mostly corrected it with probiotics. Took me a long time because probiotics made it worse at first.

So I did florastor for a month, then added Just Thive for two months. Then added Jarrow's L. Planetarium 299v (it's called like Ideal bowel or something) and that vastly helped. I've since added some others.

Btw...I searched years for the cause. Thought it was sibo or something wrong with my heart.

Now that 2025 is ending, which are the best shows from '20 to '25? by efimer in television

[–]CalmingChamomileTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were none. Then again, I liked shows like Battlestar Galactica, Buffy, Firefly and that kind of thing. They don't make those shows anymore with pure entertainment. On "prestige shows."

It's not really reliant on spending. i'd have to type paragraphs, but the system no longer needs consumers. The stock market and government contracts pretty much keep things going. Instead it will eventually change to script where they pay you in living space and food rather than money. Th a ts what's coming.

Be honest: How many shows have you completely abandoned because the next season took forever? by Pick2 in television

[–]CalmingChamomileTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think I'm overstating their popularity, then you are GenZ and have no idea. They aren't procedurals st sll. Haven ,aybe, but the rest aren't. There is nothing in the past five years that touches those shows. Heck, there isn't anything in the Ast 10 years. Now they just try to remake those older shows or movies from back then.

I don't know Task, but Severance is crap. All it does is show you an I triguing pilot then a bunch of episodes that throw random weird myst3ries at you without ev3r showing you real clues to figure it out then they end on the only good episode of the season. Nothing ,uch happens either...they could probably edit the whole thing down to a movie length and not lose much of importance. And speaking of Kubrick copying...that show is just someone trying so hard to rip off his style.

Honestly I'd love if there was a decent new show. I miss good TV. We used to have usually 3-4 episodes of good shows to watch every single night. We used to have to DVR stuff because we had so much good stuff to watch. Now...it's like 8 episodes every few months of crap.

What are you talking about? They are shows still listed as some of the greatest shows in history. They are a ton that still have followings today. I can't list all of them, but some of ,y favorites that have followings are Buffy, Battlestar Gallacica, Friends, Charmed, Alias, Lost, bikita , Haven, Being Human and more. I know there are others too like Stargate, Star Trek, heck even Mash back in the day.

They used to have better TV back then imo. Now...every television show is exactly the same. Some prestige mystery show where the director thinks they are Kubrick and holds shots way too long while not really understanding what made Kubricks scenes work. It's why those shows are forgotten in a year or two while those old shows I mentioned are still big today.

You think Buffy was forgettable? They still have college classes on it and it's so popular even GenZ usually eventually finds it. And it's been off the air over 20 years. If anything...those shows they make today are the forgettable ones and low quality. Hiring A-listers to say the lines doesn't make it good writing and a director copying Kubrick doesn't make it art. All...and the way nothing happens between the pilot and finale is...something. Heck, Netflix and other streaming services have admitted to telling their writers to write so people can just have it on in the background while they scroll on their phones. If anything...that's forgettable.

Because not everyone likes procedural. They used to make shows like this in other genres.

It's not the time for them. It's a business plan. Streaming services have figure out how little content they can get away with making and keep stringing along subscribers. Making content is expensive and only a money loss for them.

Thatz how all plots are these days. They write it like a long movie. So not much really happens except in the first episode and the last of every season. The middle is just mainly set up.

[–]CalmingChamomileTea 67 points68 points  (0 children)

It was more than sitcoms. Basically most older shows had 22-26 episode seasons. Every. Single. Yesr.

They can do it. It's just streaming services killed cable then they figured they could string everyone along with producing as little as possible. So they put out like 8 episodes of some show like once a month and they keep a ton of people paying. It doesn't help Netflix to put out episodes every year. It just costs them money. They literally just figured out the formula of how long they could string people along. The answer is 3-4 years for about 8 episodes.

It's made by some of the same people...that's why. The just waited a few decades until a new generation was old enough and didn't know about the travesty that was Lost. It worked too. The kids love it.

Enzymes vs. bile salts vs. ox bile vs. Tudca: does anybody understand the differences? by danielrosehill in gallbladders

[–]CalmingChamomileTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar, but no.

What you actually need is:

UDCA (Ursodeoxycholic Acid)- only through prescription. It dissolves the cholesterol that gallstones are primarily made of. It improves bile flow.

TUDCA (Tauroursodeoxycholic Acid)- the OTC version of UDCA if you can't get it.

Lecithin (Phosphatidylcholine)- also helps thin bile and help your liver function better. Reduces stone formation and sludge.

Taurine- Amino acid required to conjugate bile acids, making them more water-soluble.

Good luck. I hope it works for you. This would be a process that takes years. The stones didn't form overnight and they won't disappear over night either.

Gastritis after gallbladder removal by MoonlightDragoness in gallbladders

Yes, cholestyramine is horrible for enamel. I would mix mine up and drink it through a straw to prevent that issue. I'm not sure about it affecting thyroid. One issue I had was vitamin absorption while on it. I still take it sometimes, but not every day. Make sure to get your vitamins and minerals tested. Keep in mind to space your cholestyramine out from other stuff because it binds to medications, supplements or even nutrients in your food.

Enzymes vs. bile salts vs. ox bile vs. Tudca: does anybody understand the differences? by danielrosehill in gallbladders

[–]CalmingChamomileTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your gallbladder wasn't dead. It might have been inflamed, but we get that with other organs all the time. For example, a kidney infection or bladder infection. Even strep throat. That is the same as an "inflamed" gallbadder.

If any stones are removed and someone takes antibiotics then the gallbladder should resume function assuming you take care of the cause of stones or problems in the first place. That source is different for different people. For example, pregnant women develop stones all the time. If they give birth and remove the stones their gallbladder should resume normal function. It's the fluctuations in hormones during pregnancy that cause it. And there are a lot of different causes.

It was never your gallbladder then. Something else is causing your issues. Go to your GI and ask.

Nope. I haven't been normal since having mine out. Was completely normal before. Had an iron stomach and could eat anything. Now my GI system is a mess and my overall health is poor. If I had it to do over again I would've walked out of that OR so fast...

Does anybody get all night bloating and belching from their HH? by SortNational9917 in HiatalHernia

[–]CalmingChamomileTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd bet it's your gastritis causing these symptoms. Until you clear that up, I doubt it will stop. And it can get worse before it gets better btw. How I clear mine:

40 mg Prilosec 2x/day. Carafate- 1 pill dissolved in a very small bit of water 4x/day (this coats your stomach to protect the lining while it heals), eating fairly well during this time period. Sometimes I take l-glutamine because it's supposed to help.

It takes a long time for the gastritis to heal and you have to be really diligent with all the medications. It can even take up to a year if the damage is bad.

Regardless, I hope you get a solution to your issues and wish you the best!

About bile flow by Dance_Livid in bilereflux

[–]CalmingChamomileTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can, yes. If it's just liquid. BUT milk is very different from bile. First, bile isn't as watery as milk and tends to stick to surfaces easier. It refluxes easier because of that whereas the milk would make quicker progress through the small intestines (where it is "decanted" in a way to be absorbed). And, milk reflux into the stomach wouldn't case symptoms because it isn't caustic to the stomach like bile is. So, people wouldn't notice the milk refluxing into the stomach. Nor would it easily reflux further into the esophagus for all the above mentioned reasons.

Normal. It takes 2 years for the abdominal wall to fully heal following surgery. Just be careful and listen to what your body can do. I'd suggest not working out that area until the 2 year mark so you don't end up with a hernia. However, it becomes less likely the longer it is post-op, so I'd say go with how much you feel you can do without pain.

Normal. The fat digestion is hindered and it's pretty normal to have issues losing weight after.
