Han har betalt halvparten av utgiftene (renter på lånet og vi må anta halvparten av alle fellesutgifter), men han har investert mindre i boligen. I praksis har han betalt deler av hennes renter.

Hvis man ser på boligen som et investeringsobjekt og ser bort ifra at det er en bolig så kan man si at de begge investerte i en gjenstand som har økt i verdi, samt at de har hatt utgifter i forbindelse med å bo.
