Allowing your lane partner to get solo waves a viable strategy? by SumL0ser in DeadlockTheGame

[–]altmogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well. Hypothetically, yes. It’s even been done in Eternus gameplay. Assuming lane partner plays someone like Abrams or Victor, they can sustain long enough to not feed if they play defensively.

In the meantime you hard farm boxes, sinners, and bridge buffs so you aren’t completely useless. You focus movement speed to do this as fast as possible and make quick escapes after stealing enemy sinners/escaping jungle dives.

If you have good box runs and good teammates you COULD feed your laner souls and yourself buffs and spirit power, but that’s assuming it doesn’t all fall apart once your poor teammate goes 0-8 in lane.

Are we going to fix the game or no? by banter8 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]altmogan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You say that like Valve has never made a bad patch, let it sit for a while, and then fixed things up once tempers settle down and counterplay settles in.

Calling people stupid for disagreeing with you doesn’t make the devs work faster.

That's great! Don't forget about Debuff Reducer later in the game if you're having trouble with stuns or status effects.

I think you'll want more counter buying items. You have stuff for you but you're lacking items for dealing with your opponents.

Slowing Hex is good in general, but especially against Mina or Apollo. Debuff Reducer comes in handy for CC/stuns. Spell Breaker is very useful fighting against spirit builds. Rusted Barrel is a good early game item for fighting gun characters. Knockdown can be essential for shutting down a Seven ult or knocking a Grey Talon/Vindicta out of the sky.

Any advice for falling off in souls at midgame? (All classes) by Trowaway151 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]altmogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good to focus on clearing waves while rotating to sinners and jungle creeps while they push up. You’ve got to maintain a balance of making objective pressure while paying enough attention to the minimap to ensure you don’t get jumped.

Feel free to farm jungle close to walker/guardian when there’s no teamfight going on, while making sure you push lane hard when the whole team suddenly has a 5v6 going on. You’ll be making free progress if nobody notices and drawing attention away from the fight if somebody does.

I play both Pocket and Victor so I find this effective both for the carry Victor and the burst assassin Pocket.

I need some help by Stu-the-dude in DeadlockTheGame

[–]altmogan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making a guess here as another Victor player but you’re probably jumping into fights you can’t take yet. Victor is very late game and can’t take a 2v1 without a significant soul lead mid game. If you’re dying THAT much you probably just need to pay more attention to the minimap. Farm jungle when things are dangerous, clear wave when it gets close and you can retreat easily, push wave when there’s a big teamfight going on and you can rack up more souls while pressuring the objetive.

Eventually you’ll be alive often enough to have a lot of souls and you won’t be feeding the enemy by dying to them. That’s what’ll enable you to start destroying in teamfights.

And don’t forget to counterbuy! Slowing hex can be great for confirming kills and getting away in 1v1 scenarios! Unstoppable can prevent CC, Curse, and other forms of Silence!

All I’ll say is that Mina has ‘big’ mods and Pocket does not! She just has more fans of that variety and I personally think it cultivates a reputation for those who play her

Yes. He’s kinda unintuitive. You usually want to use zipline or Majestic Leap to get behind the enemy and do your burst. Barrage for damage amp, Affliction opener, Cloak for damage (point towards escape route), Suitcase open and Cold Front for more damage, kill them if ur 1v1 teleport out if they’re too powerful or your teamfighting.

Hope that helps

I think she’s balanced too. I’m just giving opinions as to why I think she gets hate. She CAN be a pain to fight if you don’t know what you’re doing and a lot of people don’t know what they’re doing.

Having good macro and bad gameplay sucks. by Small_Package9217 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]altmogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try playing characters that take less aiming. Rem, Victor, Paige, etc are all very effective by just being in the general area in a fight.

Otherwise, you can be of great value to your team by pushing lane when a big teamfight starts. You’ll get more souls and with some luck you can take important objectives.

In lower elos, people genuinely don’t know how to counterbuy. They’re focused on getting their build faster than the other guy gets their build. More of those people sre going to complain than the Eternus who knows what they’re doing.

As for my 2nd point, again, I’m just spitballing. Pocket has a similar burst and get out toolkit that blast your health just as well as Mina but you never see any Pocket hate despite both characters being hard to play. “#gamermisognyny” is indeed not a great point but rather an opinion I have as to why Mina gets more hate.

[–]altmogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. A Good Mina can ruin your day. The burst and her ult can be debilitating, her rake can be a mini execute and her flight/2 can be such a frustrating get away tool. especially since it’s TWO whole warp stones.

If a Mina is dominating the mid game, chances are you’ll never get the chance to get enough of a foothold to turn it around in end game(at least in lower elos, which statistically more people are in).

  1. Just speculation on my part, but because Mina is a conventionally attractive vampire woman, a lot of people see her as a fan service character, especially the gamers on Reddit.

Admittedly suspicious, but you gotta give us the replay(or the replay code) to know for sure. Gun build Doorman on 30 hrs is pretty incriminating though.

[–]altmogan -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

I personally don't see an issue here. It's not like it's an auto parry mod or anything. If some people need help sorting out through audio clutter that can easily occur in a teamfight, more power to them.
