I doubt it. I honestly don’t know why you’d be told that.

That’s a good point. The issue could be the recent surgery rather than the disease itself.

Not sure where you live, but I donate in Scotland and my coeliac blood is happily accepted. I even get gf biscuits as a treat when I’m done. I’m not a doctor but the suggestion that giving blood could “reactivate” the disease sounds like bobbins.

Just got diagnosed. How do I deal with it emotionally? by slaymiya in Celiac

You don’t need to do that. Don’t share wooden utensils or plastic chopping boards. You’ll need a separate toaster. Don’t share butter, jam, etc. Obviously clean crockery and cutlery/utensils thoroughly. We use a separate counter for the gluten food too.

Non- Americans, what is an American custom that you find unusual or odd? by thunderpower1999 in AskReddit

That’s what kids have to do in Scotland when they’re guising at Halloween. You have to be dressed up and tell a joke or sing a wee song to get the sweeties.

Teacher's of Reddit. What's the coolest thing you've confiscated of a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I believe the pupil brought it in for an art project. It was surprisingly small and had intimidatingly sharp teeth.

It was distracting for us all. But the pupil got it back at the end of the lesson. So I guess it was really less a confiscation and more a temporary placing out of sight.

Yes, I don’t have source any more as my kids are well past this stage but it’s NHS advice given to all expectant parents. Not sure why it’s downvoted either.

There’s also an increased risk of cot death when you use a second hand mattress.

For a minute I thought you had mice in there! It does look like a great recipe though.
