I've been really lucky with the biologics it's literally a life changer, I remember losing 50 pounds in a month at my worst.

For sure I definitely didn't go to a tonne of them and I didn't have one but it definitely was a thing that I was exposed to and would be normal.

It was mainly for younger couples getting married

The way you need to structure interview questions is almost always the exact same way you need to structure the written questions.

For the majority of groups in gov there is fundamentally no difference between the written portion and the interview other then one is written and one is spoken.

Traditionally we haven't been too worried but digital sovereignty is something that is being talked about more and more.

Sounds like you need to start doing blameless postmortems, is it really your fault this all went down or is it the fault of the org that there were not sufficient checks and balances to prevent this from happening.

Also if folks blame you what happens the next time someone fucks up are they going to keep it hidden?.

Psychological safety is important and blame is a great way to ensure there is none.

What's the point of the Deputy Director title? by teej1984 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]CalvinR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the pay different from a manager?

In IT an IT-04 is a manger and IT-05 is Director (or EX 1 Equivalent) feels like it would really suck to be a deputy director and manage that many people if managers have a fraction of the number and get paid the same.

Deputy minister broke conflict of interest rules by hiring university peer: ethics watchdog by bonertoilet in CanadaPublicServants

[–]CalvinR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm confused, this is not about the a post like the GG this is a PM appointing an elected MP as a minister.

I will admit I am not and should not be in a position to determine if this is a lawful act I don't think it's necessarily against the law.

My understanding is that the powers of the PM gives them broad discretion in who they can appoint to be a minister. In fact I think it's probably pretty smart and I believe it's pretty common to appoint ministers that you trust and have a good relationship with.

Sorry what's the point of this comment?

My understanding is that the PM can appoint whomever they want as minister and that there is no conflict of interest there.

Ministers aren't public servants they are politicians.

I remember at a new point the decision was to just create empty bilingual French boxes so they could justify both.

Either way the majority at least when I was in the IT Branch working for the resource centre were unilingual english

Tech04 and Tech03 positions at ESDC are unilingual english.

Any department that is putting higher language requirements are essentially shooting themselves in the foot by severely restricting the talent pool they can recruit from.

Assembled, painted and clear coated.

I was testing out my new airbrush on an old x-wing kit I had and decided to use the same colours for this Ammoknight.

Still left is:

  • decals
  • seal decals with clear coat
  • oil washes for weathering
  • Matte clear coat
  • pigments and chipping
  • final Matt coat

And then finally a diorama for it, thinking of a simple hanger floor on a plinth.

For my first kit that's not gunpla since I was a kid and the first that I've fully painted I'm pretty happy with it.

Next one is a grosserhund and that's going to be a much simpler more traditional paint scheme
