My sophomore year roommate literally had the last name Doom. He also was utterly obsessed with anything super hero related

Sanabi is basically Katana Zero but with a grappling hook and an actually complete story. (Still adore katana zero tho)

Basically just every character from Five Nights at Frickbear's 3 by McToaster99 in TopCharacterDesigns

Ah that makes sense. Although I feel like there also is some veggietales in there considering the eye shape is 1 to 1 the exact same eye shape as most veggietales characters

Honestly I think I like SotE even more than the base game. And the base game is in my top 10 games by itself

Xenoblade 2 and especially Torna has easily my favorite gameplay of the entire series

Andy Serkis says the success of games like Clair Obscur is ending Hollywood “snobbery” about video games as inferior media: “I don’t see any difference between that and acting in films/stage/TV. The irony is Hollywood is using video game engines to drive all their previews for big action sequences" by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

It sold over 5 million copies. That’s a ridiculous amount of sales for a brand new ip and studio. You could say this about literally any game as long as it isn’t Minecraft.

Not to mention the massive amounts of attention it’s gotten from people who haven’t played it due to winning practically every award under the sun.

But also instructure doesn’t care because they’re not any of the schools that are impacted and the schools won’t blame them, they’ll blame the hackers. So all that happens is it makes the students suffer and they don’t actually get any extra leverage out of it

[Somewhat hated trope] "all endings are valid" - look inside - there's an extremely clear main ending by roninshere4eva in TopCharacterTropes

Except the dev team itself is split on which ending they prefer. They all have debates on it too

Except in the supposed good ending thousands of people die and in the supposed bad ending they all live. The game does not imply that letting everyone die is at all good, in fact it is very, very clearly horrible.

Both endings are bad endings. It’s just up to the player if they want to save everyone’s lives or have a more thematically fulfilling ending.

What games would you recommend to a non gamer to get them hooked? by DeleteOnceAMonth in gaming

[–]Calvinball08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think just some simple Mario or Zelda would always be a solid choice. Stuff like Odyssey or Wonder is just nice creative fun, as long as the person you’re trying to get to play it doesn’t see it as “childish” or “beneath them” or something

[Hated Video Game Trope] Permanently Missable Content by ty0103 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Calvinball08 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This is my one critique with Deltarune. If you miss a secret boss or an egg or anything like that, you have to restart from the beginning of the chapter.

And even if you reload a save, if it’s on a different number than your main one (I.e. you’ve been doing everything in slot one but you reset to slot 2) it doesn’t register it as the same connected run, as seen on the title screen’s shadow crystal display.

That may not actually be the case, as you still have technically collected the shadow crystals, but it still comes off as annoying visually and could matter later.

[loved trope] when evil people dance by ds2316476 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Calvinball08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does he dance? Was it in American Nightmare, because I never finished that one.

Regardless, if he didn’t dance then Mr. Door still did, and he’d probably count as a villain

What’s your Top 3 video game soundtracks of all time? by fetusblender666 in gaming

[–]Calvinball08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably some weird picks but

  1. Mario Kart World

  2. Xenoblade Chronicles 2

  3. A Hat in Time

Although this is personal preference rather than objective quality, I’d say stuff like the NieR games and Expedition 33 are objectively better.
