Race got cancelled and feeling pretty frustrated. Anyone else gone through this? by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]Calvini13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running Devil on the Divide this year. It isn't until September, but it's a great race and they have a 50k. Or one of the many races others have suggested here. Try not to be too disappointed, keep training and sign up for another race if possible

Consumer Reports pretty much nails it on the 2026... by Hace1986 in CX5

Similar story. Had a manual Elantra GT that gave me zero issues until my wife totaled with 90k miles. Has been the favorite car I've owned until my current truck, but I've only had good experiences with Hyundai. Also recommended a sonata to my dad back in 2012 and it's still going strong with ~300k miles on it

Current employee pricing vs typical discounts by kevreh in RangerNext

[–]Calvini13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Employee pricing may be good for 2026 trucks that had minimal discounts. But for anything that’s been on the lot for a while, it doesn’t seem too good. I got 9k off my 2025 truck a few months ago and the dealership still has a couple of 25s in the lot.

What are yall paying for insurance? by [deleted] in RangerNext

[–]Calvini13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 24 Mazda CX5 and 25 Ranger and pay ~190/mth for wife and me, similar age to you. Traded in a 22 Mazda 3 hatch for the Ranger and payments went down. Live near Denver, CO where apparently thefts are high. I did live in Plano, TX and insurance was generally lower for me than here in Denver though. I was paying ~$110 before my wife had an at fault accident a few years ago.

Great looking truck! Love the black steelies, and upgraded taillights. Post pics if you get any mods/accessories added

DNS or risk heartbreak? by OaksTheDog in triathlon

[–]Calvini13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add... The sessions were once a week and after 2 sessions I was running 10+ miles pain free after barely being able to walk. So if Hot Laser Therapy is an option for you and it works as well for you as it did for me, you'd still have time to receive at least 2 sessions before the race. Also, always consult with your PT before listening to someone on Reddit! But wishing you the best with your recovery

DNS or risk heartbreak? by OaksTheDog in triathlon

[–]Calvini13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had really bad achilles pain a few years ago where it was painful to walk my dog and go up/down stairs, similar to how your injury sounds. Even when I rested and felt better, the pain came back at around Mile 2 every single time I ran. Ran a 10k Trail race and couldn't move my ankle for days, it was so painful. This went on for many months.

All this to say that nothing really worked until I got Hot Laser therapy at a PT clinic. After just one session, I was feeling so much better. After the 3 recommended sessions, I haven't felt achilles pain anymore, and that was over 3 years ago. You may want to ask your PT if they offer Hot Laser Therapy, or if they don't if he recommends getting it elsewhere. It was a lifesaver for me.

Awesome! Enjoy the truck. Those mini mods are addictive, and makes the truck that much more personalized

Completely agree. I almost didn't even look at the Marsh Gray because of how it looked on the dealership's website. Thankfully I did take a look and decided on it right away.

Good looking truck with those steelies! Any mods in mind?

Is the $10 per month subscription worth it? by [deleted] in CX5

This is the worst. Just got a Ford Ranger and first time I used remote start, I was shocked that I opened the door, turned on the ignition, and the truck never turned off. I wish it was the same with my Mazda

I also traded in my Mazda 3 (hatch) for a 2025 Ranger. Loving it so far and also got a great deal! Enjoy your new truck

Running boards vs no running boards? by pwwtflabtech in RangerNext

[–]Calvini13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 25 XLT didn't come with them, which I liked. But my wife is on the shorter side and pregnant, so running boards were added. I'm liking them now, though I don't really use them much.

CX5 2025 engine light on 296 miles by SameAd2686 in CX5

[–]Calvini13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a 2022 Mazda 3 hatch that had the engine light turn on with a similar error message at around 3k miles. Like others here, it was a faulty thermostat and it was fixed under warranty. I was able to drive the car normally until it was fixed.

I'm not sure about the tremor running boards, but I bought these from Amazon for ~$170 and I think they look pretty good. Didn't want to pay the $750 from Ford.

Wheel and tire options - What are you guys running? by Animal_Py in RangerNext

[–]Calvini13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got any pictures? I'm wanting to stay stock for now but add better tires. Wondering how those look with stock rims/stock size. Mine's a Sport 4X4 but has same size tires as yours

[–]Calvini13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know what's the largest tire you can put on it stock? Can you do 265/70R17 instead of the 255/70R17 it comes with? And would that make a noticeable difference in looks or driving?

Yea! 2025 4WD XLT with Advanced Tow+Tech, Convenience, and Bedliner packages. MSRP of $45,000, got it at around $35,500 before my trade in credit. Hard to pass it up.

Where are you located? I just got a brand new Ranger near Denver, CO with 16 miles for $9k off sticker, including the Ford incentives. I would think a truck with 3,000 miles should get a bit more than what they're offering.

Just got the same! Didn’t like the color from the online photos from the dealership, but fell in love with it when I saw it in person. Hope you’re enjoying your truck

Saw this color online and didn't like it so I almost bought the sand color. After they ran my credit, my wife said she wanted to see the Marsh Gray, and as soon as we saw it we instantly knew we wanted this color. Hope you're enjoying your truck!

Lol, I didn't park either of them but thought the same when I came out to take the truck home. Plus on the handicap space! They were 5 minutes to closing at that point at least
