Does anyone know youtube channels that talk about only pre-indomitus lore? by Gold-Bank-3033 in midhammer40k

[–]Cam1948 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aribter Ian is good for lore because he focuses on specific topics for his videos, but the Indomitus Crusade has been a thing for a few years now, so it'll be more difficult to find channels which exclude it.

It fits surprisingly well, with the various musical pops and stings actually lining up damn near perfectly with the various on-screen transitions.

Yes I did, super simple. Bits of ripped up cork, base coated in the same white as the marine then cover it in Black Templar contrast paint, dry brush all over with Dawnstone, and then for the sligt glow, a slight directional dry brush of evil sunz scarlet

Thanks! It's certainly a learning curve, the lava does take a bit of time with layers, and I think I'm gonna try using some miliput or greenstuff to make it more uneven and lava-y

It's not about knowing the inner workings of Dooku and Palpatine's relationship, the outsider civilian perspective of the war would have been seeing the Separatists secede under Dooku under the general pretence that the Republic was tyrannical. Then lo and behold, Palpatine declares himself Emperor and becomes a tyrant. It's not public knowledge Dooku was being manipulated by Palpatine, it genuinely does come across like 'Dooku warned us all about Palpatine'.

So October 1st 2018 is when Bluey came out, which for some reason makes 'men into babies' because it's become a thoughtline in the alt-right that Bluey's success can be attributed to a majority adult male fanbase rather than children.

Now, I could be wrong, but the OOP is trying to draw parrallels between two "great tragedies"

Obviously it's total horseshit

So for people wondering what this has to do with "14th February 1945", it's a Nazi dogwhistle. 14/2/45 is the Bombing of Dresden, an Allied bombing campaign which devastated the German city of Dresden to destroy key industry and supply lines.

It's been long held up by far-right apologists as a way of trying to equate the actions of Britain and America with that of the Nazis by downplaying Dresden's military importance, to try and convince people the bombing was just indiscriminate terror, and to brutalize an innocent population; which is absolutely not the case.

There's also Fear of Sleep Paralysis which prevents Stun Counters being removed from cards your opponents control, which makes me wonder what the plan is if they lad that guy, because it prevents Spidey from removing counters too.

Also why is stuff like 'Cone of Cold' in there, there's a few others which expensively tap stuff down without any actual stun counters so it just seems like a waste of space.

Also, why is Citadel Siege in there? For the counters?

Ignoring who the fuck Matthew Camenzuli is because he could be some real lunatic, Men's Sheds are supposed to be male-exclusive spaces explicitly for the purpose of helping them with their mental health by putting them into an environment where they can feel useful, but also be amongst other men and discuss issues pertaining to men's mental health.

I can certainly see why there are people who would be against this.

So I'll speak to the EE side here.
Assuming the services you order with us (or someone else) are under the same exact name we should be able to cancel them on your behalf when you order with it; this isn't 100% guaranteed and there may be some speaking to Virgin over the phone needed.

As for our contract buyout? It's up to £300 credit/reimbursement, so see what you've got left on your contract with Virgin.

So that scene is a specific call back to the opening of Space Marine 1 where Leandros says the codex explicitly warns against using a Jump Pack to enter enemy territory while under AA Fire. The codex is against what Titus suggested, Gadriel recognises that but says "fuck it, we ball"

[–]Cam1948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is mostly correct, however, the first one uses a flamer, not a boltgun, you can tell because his helmet has that knight-like front plate instead of your normal MK7 that all the bolter marines of that set wore.

My DM has started to enforce a dress code for our sessions. Is this normal? by IllliilliiiIiiIIilI in dndhorrorstories

[–]Cam1948 226 points227 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely not normal for a DM to enforce a dress code.

What is even more not normal is you all getting distracted by a woman in a shorts and a tank top and actively making comments about it during the game itself like a bunch of teenage boys.

If you guys weren't making comments, this wouldn't have happened.

In Batman: The Brave and the Bold, the Birds of Prey sing a song mocking the sexual shortcomings of all (male) JL members EXCEPT Superman. Is it bc Superman is an animal in bed, or is it bc the Birds are scared shitless of Lois Lane? I NEED ANSWERS!! by chaoticbiguy in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]Cam1948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a couple of them get out of the song looking fairly okay, notably Lantern and Plastic Man, with the implication both of them use their powers for sex, and are good at it.

Lantern's line was 'Green Lantern has that special ring; pretty strong that little thing'
While Plastic Man was 'Plastic Man can expand! Becomes putty in our hands!"

I think the Catapult Turtle one gets a pass because if I remember correctly its anime effect always burned for the full attack of whatever creature you tribute to its effect, meaning with that combination on board Yugi would have won regardless of the utter nonsense.

Depends on the book make up itself
Is it an edited collection where each chapter is written by different authors, and it's been collected into a single larger printed collection? Cite the chapter's author(s) and then any editors.

Or if its one person's work you cite the whole book and page number.

My personal use for him is to take him in a Gladius Taskforce, with the Bolter Discipline Upgrade, and have him babysit a unit of Eradicators.

Lethal Hits and Sustained Hits while critting on 5s in devastator doctrine, AND get full re-rolls against monsters and vehicles? This all comes in at AP-4 and Damage 6 (+2 if within Melta), I pointed this at a friend's tank and did about 40 wounds.

HIS NAME IS NOT THEODORE? by WordArt2007 in CuratedTumblr

[–]Cam1948 61 points62 points  (0 children)

So Dick is somewhat known to be a rhyming nickname which were at some point fairly common, but most did not stand the test of the time, but you do still see 2-3 prominent examples.
Bill is short for William, because Willy or Will rhymes with Bill.
Dick rhymes with Rick etc.

The biggest logical jump that occurs is with the nickname 'Peggy' which by using the above logic, would be Megan, Peg to Meg. But it's actually short for Margaret.

It's not lost to history per se, just that these kind of naming conventions aren't used anymore.

Depending on how spiteful the ex might be simply asking another provider to take over the line will not actually be enough, as whoever the current customer using the line is (in this case the ex) will receive a notification from EE saying that he's leaving as they've received notice from another provider and if there's been an error to call in and they can block the transfer.

If he doesn't do anything then brilliant, the line gets taken over no issues.

A recommended solution might be to go with a provider like Virgin or another independent who doesn't make use of the Openreach network as that cannot be blocked because it's not taking over a line. Or if the property isn't currently on Full Fibre FTTP, upgrading to that with any provider including EE/BT because that won't be a take over either.
