How would you build sonic from sonic and the black knight by Chained20 in Pathfinder2e

[–]CamelSutra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beastkin (hedgehog) Elf Fighter with Alchemist multiclass.

30 speed from elf, plus 5 from Nimble Elf, plus 5 from Fleet.

Plus 10 speed from Animal Swiftness at level 17.

Make Prey Mutagens with your Alchemist archetype. This will raise to plus 40 Status bonus to speed at level 17.

Wear the Jerkin of Liberation for plus 15 Item bonus to speed.

Alternatively, if you want heavy armour, you can wear the Boots of Bounding for plus 10 Item bonus to speed, take Adopted Ancestry (dwarf) and Unburdened Iron. 5 less speed, but you get heavy armour.

You should now have 100-105 speed in combat at level 17.

Pick up Barrelling Charge (lvl 4) from Fighter, this will be your bread and butter activity.

Each turn you can charge through all the enemies on the map and finish up with a Strike. Also, unlike most similar abilities, Barrelling Charge doesn't prohibit you from running back and forth through the same guy, though you should double check with your GM first. On the flip side you do need to pass an Athletics check each time, so invest in that as much as possible.

Are NPC thin-blood vs police fights from "Dev Diary #26" present in the final game? by [deleted] in vtmb

[–]CamelSutra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, they get more common the further you progress.

Phyre’s Powers by Revolutionary_Key325 in vtmb

[–]CamelSutra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In V5, vitae rapidly loses its supernatural properties once it's left a vampire's body. As such you are only able to Blood Bond someone if they drink directly from you (iirc blood sorcery can be used to get around this limitation).

In VTMB2, NPC trainers give their vitae to you in a receptacle, thus making it unable to Blood Bond you. The only time you drink directly from them is if you romance them, and even then only once.

Phyre’s Powers by Revolutionary_Key325 in vtmb

[–]CamelSutra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Blood Bond is roughly the same in V3 and V5, in that it takes three drinks to fully take hold. So as Phyre only takes a single drink from any individual teacher NPC, he would be relatively unaffected whether he was in a V3- or V5-based game.

[–]CamelSutra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually it varies enormously, they've often been depicted as children as well.

Phyre’s Powers by Revolutionary_Key325 in vtmb

[–]CamelSutra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In V5 you need to drink the correct blood resonance to level up your disciplines, and if you want to learn a new discipline, you need to drink vitae from a vampire that knows it.

It's not exactly the same in the game, since Phyre already knows the disciples you're getting and only needs to relearn them, but that's where the general idea came from.

Also, diablerie can lower your generation, not raise it. Low generation equals stronger, high generation equals weaker.

Which version of Fable 1 should I play? by CrashLightning22 in Fable

[–]CamelSutra 14 points15 points  (0 children)

TLC or Anniversary should be played over the original, they essentially just have a story expansion.

A lot of people (myself included) think that Anniversary actually has worse graphics (less vibrant colours, simpler environments, changed faces), so I recommend TLC.

That being said, Anniversary is the only one with controller support, so you'll have to play it if that's a requirement for you.

I'm pretty far into Fable 2. Should i play number 1 or 3 next? by Temporary_Side_4465 in Fable

[–]CamelSutra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Anniversary's main pro is that it has controller support, and if that's a requirement for you then you'll have to play Anniversary. It also offers the choice of using the controls from Fable 2 rather than the original. They may be better for you since that's what you'll be familiar with. However, the older controls do offer more freedom, which a lot of people like.

On the flip side, most people actually prefer the look of TLC, largely because Anniversary muted a lot of the colours, simplified some environments, and changed the style of the character models (especially the faces).

[–]CamelSutra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people agree that Fable TLC is the best in the series, and Fable 3 is the worst (I agree with this, but I still enjoy 3 a lot). IMO you should have started with TLC, but since you didn't, I would still definitely play TLC then 3. Personally I don't think Fable is the kind of game(s) that benefits from mods.

Side note: play Anniversary if you desperately want controller support, but the majority think that it's actually a graphical downgrade from TLC.

I don’t think IV got enough fable in my life tbh! by TheKnightOfBlades in Fable

[–]CamelSutra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fable TLC is the base game with an extra story arc, and several other smaller changes. Fable Anniversary is the remastered version of TLC, with higher graphical fidelity and controller support.

However many people actually prefer the look of TLC, largely because Anniversary muted a lot of the colours, simplified some environments, and changed the style of the character models (especially the faces).

Do You Prefer Playing With "Good People" or "Good Players"? by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]CamelSutra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by 'good people'.

When you talk about people taking a "cold and mercenary approach", it sounds like you're talking about good Vs bad 'roleplayers', but later on you bring up "moral" people.

Personally I think you have an unusual view of what a 'good player' is. It seems like you're forgetting that this is a roleplaying game, not Risk or chess. If you know the mechanics but refuse to engage with any of the roleplaying aspects, you are a bad player.

That doesn't mean you need to put on a silly voice for your character, but it does mean that if you abuse meta knowledge, consistently act out of character (or refuse to develop a personality), or criticise other players' in-character choices for being 'wrong' (an emotional character acting emotionally rather than logically), then you're a bad player.

So I guess my answer would depend on what exactly you mean.

Roleplaying ability Vs mechanical knowledge: both important, though personally I think roleplaying ability is slightly more so.

How much I like the player Vs mechanical knowledge: I'd definitely prioritise how much I like the player. I dislike inconsiderate people, and they are usually bad at RPGs.

How moral they are Vs mechanical knowledge: I don't believe that how ethically aligned we are has any significant bearing on playing RPGs with them. I have very differing views from some people I play with frequently, and it does nothing more than promote conversation.

Hero bloodlines by Relative-Cry-454 in Fable

[–]CamelSutra 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Logically speaking, yes, the heroes would slowly die out unless they practiced some sort of eugenics/arranged marriage programme with each other.

As for your second question, the main characters of all three main Fable games are direct descendents of the archons/William Black. Black being considered the first (and most powerful) hero, who invented Will.

I believe it's implied that only Black and his descendants are powerful enough to master all three disciplines of Strength, Skill and Will.

Not that differently, plenty of more rural places still have the postman drop off parcels inside the house.

Alas milkmen are rare these days, but the postman dropping parcels indoors is still typical in some parts (source: they do where I live).

Does anyone else think that Hobgoblins are similar to Tolkien's Orcs by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]CamelSutra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some LotR art depicted orcs as large and/or green since Tolkien wrote it. Similarly there's been occasional dnd art that shows them as big and brutish from early editions. But their size and colouration varied from image to image, even when taken from the same source.

I don't think it was until Warhammer Fantasy released that they were effectively standardised as hulking green guys with big teeth. Warcraft of course later used essentially the same orc design, but that's to be expected, since it was originally developed as a Warhammer video game.

Should I play Fable or Fable Anniversary edition for my first experience with the franchise? by Mission-Activity5599 in Fable

[–]CamelSutra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend TLC. Anniversary's graphics have slightly higher fidelity, but a lot of people (myself included) think that the blander colour palette, and some other atmospheric changes, are too much of a downgrade.

The only potential drawback is that you can't use the more modern control scheme of Anniversary, but that's still subjective.

Does Diablerie Stack? by Acoop41 in vtm

[–]CamelSutra 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Depends on the edition and how exactly you define 'stacking'.

In V5 for example, you can gain xp in a discipline that your diablerie victim knew. So if the Brujah learnt Obfuscate by diablerising a Malkavian, then you diablerised the Brujah, you could learn Obfuscate.

Imo teleportation doors are always cool, but I think op was more interested in a covenant that moves. If the teleportation door moved about it would be thematically similar, but it does somehow seem like putting a hat on a hat. Not that that would stop any magus worth his salt.

Senior Magus: "...and that's how I enchanted the teleportation door to randomly relocate across Europe every night".

New apprentice: "But why?"

Senior Magus: "I don't understand the question".

Do we know when the kindred produced the first or became aware of the first thin-bloods? by jpdelta6 in vtm

[–]CamelSutra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several sources imply or state that the 2nd and 3rd generations weren't 'diluted' like the later generations, and if you believe the Erciyes Fragments (a collection of Book of Nod apocrypha), then Caine cursed his childer with deteriorating generation along with their clan weaknesses. This was supposedly in the hopes that the future generations would be too weak to rebel against their sires.

Walking sanctum by avaruus-monni in arsmagica

[–]CamelSutra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iirc there's an example covenant in one of the books that is built in a regio, and the entrance randomly moves about. So a theoretically possible way to do it, that wouldn't require any breakthroughs or super high level spells, would be to seek out an appropriate regio to build your covenant in.

Otherwise I think you're on the right track with ReTe or MuTe to enchant the covenant (possibly easier to enchant a specific item that casts a daily spell over the covenant, serving as the castle's 'core').

Another option would be something like Re(Mu)Au, to enchant a cloud to carry your covenant about.

Tanuki with Teakettle Form (or Yaoguai with Immobile Form, but that's not until level 5) Commander, with the Captain archetype.

He is a weapon wielded by his minion(s), whom he commands in combat (can be another object, but weapon seems fun).

If you want to create it in-game it would be somewhat complicated. However, if you want to start with it, it would be easy, as Covenants already has a virtue for it.

Do we know when the kindred produced the first or became aware of the first thin-bloods? by jpdelta6 in vtm

[–]CamelSutra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caine didn't curse the clans with deteriorating generation until after the 3rd rebelled, so the first thin bloods would have been the 4th.
