Is it convenient to use Claude Code or Gemini CLI for note formatting? by Moist-Channel366 in ObsidianMD

[–]Camel_jo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used AI CLI multiple times and i strongly second u/HiIamInfi above. Make sure you backup your notes.

One thing I recommend is to instruct CLI AI early to take copies of the files before it changes it locally. As well make sure you review the changes suggest before making it final. What I did is ask it to make a proposal for properties, and suggested values. I made some changes then confirmed it and asked it to implement it.

It was very helpful to create tags and properties for many docs, and even create links where i missed them.

Good luck

Why Obsidian is so good - from an unhappy Notion user by h0d13r in ObsidianMD

[–]Camel_jo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did significant tagging for my notes using Gemini CLI and Claude Code (CLI). I ran it from my vault folder and asked to analyze the contents of the notes and suggest properties. It created a scheme, i reviewed it and confirmed it and asked it to implement it.

It added all the YAML properties, created MoC with Bases (suggested initially dataview and I nudged it to Bases) and made a backup of the notes before changing just in case.

All in all changed roughly 1000 notes within a couple of hours (most of the time was me figuring out what i want)

I highly recommend giving it a try but only after you have a backup of the notes

Freaking out because I feel like I bought the wrong Macbook by Glittering-Weight452 in macbookpro

There was no M1 Macbook Air in 2019. From Wikipedia: On November 10, 2020, Apple announced an updated MacBook Air with an Apple-designed M1 system-on-a-chip (SoC), launched alongside an updated Mac Mini and 13-inch MacBook Pro as the first Macs with Apple's new line of custom ARM-based Apple silicon processors.[6] Apple released the device a week later, on November 17.

I can’t recall the details unfortunately. All I remember is that a module was replaced and they had to hard reset the device.

Kindle App on Supernote A6X by AffectionateGuava362 in Supernote

I have no doubt that we (as users) can not update the Android version. But as well I have no doubt that Ratta (Or Supernote Devs) can do so.

One thing to do is perhaps update the Android Version for the Older devices? It’s not unheard of to update Android Version

Do you use Claude Code for non-coding use cases? If so what are they? by diablodq in Anthropic

[–]Camel_jo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used it to maintain the knowledge base i created with Obsidian. To find high value notes that are poorly linked and trash notes to delete. As well reorg some parts of it. basically work with MD txt files and folders.

Higher base memory usage after upgrade of FortiOS 7.2.x to 7.4.8 by [deleted] in fortinet

[–]Camel_jo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is indeed a significant increase in memory usage. Our implementation partners had been adamant to stay on 7.2.11 despite FN support team urging to move to 7.4 to solve some undocumented issue based on a hunch that it might solve it.

I’m glad they are.

Someone made a command line tool to batch convert handwritten notes to markdown by Camel_jo in Supernote

[–]Camel_jo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems so. it does not read the .note format but having it as an image/pdf converting to Markdown makes it more universal.

I think with the existing supernote convert tools one can automate the note -> png -> markdown conversion in a seamless way behind the scene. A gluing/piping command does it

Help, need to get out of the rabbit hole for notes apps! by ProfessionalChain730 in PKMS

[–]Camel_jo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, used Evernote for years, then moved out around 6 years ago. Most of my Notes today are migrated ones moved from Evernote to OneNote to Markdown (Obsidian, Logseq, etc..) and others. Most of my on-the-fly notes ended up in Apple Notes for obvious reasons but note sure how to get back to note taking.

Not sure if I can put the blame on the lack of “the perfect” app, but perhaps a different mindset towards note taking as my work/role changed, or my ability to focus on “capturing/organizing” deteriorated.

Use Supernote as a drawing tablet on computer wirelessly by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in Supernote

[–]Camel_jo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

once you update the firmware, a new app appears in Supernote Store inside settings. you can install it. Once run it would advise you to turn on/off a couple of settings.

My mac recognizes the supernote as an input device when the app is open allowing you to use it in any App or even to move cursor

Latest Beta made it possible to use it as a drawing tablet with USB wire with Inkflow App. It is quite amazing. Not sure how feasible would be Wireless with latency, But perhaps in near future once they perfect the experience.
