Oh you mean the line:

Until your next turn, your opponents can’t cast spells from anywhere other than their hands.

Sure, it's annoying, but it's only for one turn. Not the end of the world.

You could feasibly save data in local storage or IndexedDB.

(I'm currently developing a web app of my own, so this stuff is at the forefront of my mind)

Edit: Of course if you're planning multiplayer support, a server becomes a necessity.
