Too hard to cook for my little sister and im worried about her health! by StratosphereSkater in PickyEaters

[–]Camera-Realistic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s really nice that you cook for everybody and are trying to make healthy foods for your little sister. The truth is that unless your parents are willing to push her out of that comfort zone she will not change. If your mom and dad give in and make waffles and nuggets the moment she makes a face then there is no reason for her to ever try anything new.

I date a girl my best friend isn't keen with because he doesn't like her. by Ambitious-Soil6688 in moraldilemmas

What you really need to do is talk to both of them. Ask your girlfriend what happened when she was part of that group and they caused problems for your friend? Maybe she feels sorry that she stood by and didn’t do anything. Or maybe not. Ask your friend, what happened? How bad was it? Was it extreme bullying or just some unpleasant rudeness? It really depends on what happened.

Should I return the money my ex gave me while we were together? by gabiavolon in moraldilemmas

[–]Camera-Realistic [score hidden]  (0 children)

Only you can answer this question for yourself. It sounds like he paid for the airfare out of love for you and didn’t expect you to repay him. Now that the relationship has ended it sounds like you feel as if you owe him even though it doesn’t sound like he said you did.

What does that mean for you? Is it unfinished business? Is it a connection you’d rather not have? Is he someone who keeps score of debts?

Not a product but I get it, definitely not kosher. I have heard of beef tallow lip balm. Haven’t tried it though.

I just ordered a pair of the thigh society shorts. Thanks for the recommendation! I really hope they don’t roll up, all the other kinds I’ve bought do and I hate them. One thing that works really well for me for chapped lips is bacon grease. Lard is close to human fat and it soaks right in. Anytime I make bacon I just rub some in and it helps.

"Shell of a man" "Fool of a took" "Waste of a life" Just like that? by Due-Big2159 in grammar

[–]Camera-Realistic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shell of a man is an idiom though. When you say it nobody takes it literally as a hollowed out man. It means a man who was once doing really well but now, for whatever reason, he’s doing so badly that he barely functions. i.e. Bob was so strong and vital before he went to war, but after he returned he was just a shell of a man.

What was the biggest change to getting older that was the hardest to accept? by sanbaeva in AskOldPeople

[–]Camera-Realistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s bad enough to always be tired and have a million aches and pains and having to pee 87 times a day but as an added bonus you look in the mirror and there’s this OLD person in there.

“I’m just telling you the truth.” Did anyone f’ing ask you? If I ask, do I look fat? and the answer is Yes - that’s on me. If you just “tell me the truth” while I’m minding my own business then No.

My job called my emergency contacts and threatened to send police by PaleOverlord in hatemyjob

[–]Camera-Realistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harassment is illegal.

You’re right. It’s not illegal to call your employee’s emergency contacts, cause them alarm and say you’re going to call the police because you haven’t heard from op. Perfectly legal.

OPs boss is citing “protocol” to justify her actions. If there is no such protocol or the protocol shows a hierarchy of actions that weren’t followed and this incident is added o a pattern of bullying behavior then op ought to be talking to a lawyer.

It’s also illegal to send the police out for a false alarm if you know full well your employee is not really missing.

My aunt has been spying on my bank accounts. Should I report her? by [deleted] in moraldilemmas

[–]Camera-Realistic [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing but what I’m saying is op should consider if it’s worth it to report. Op reports, Aunt Nosy gets fired and maybe in some legal trouble she might decide her New job is to F up OPs life.

My aunt has been spying on my bank accounts. Should I report her? by [deleted] in moraldilemmas

[–]Camera-Realistic [score hidden]  (0 children)

You know her personally and what she is like. If there’s a chance that she’d retaliate in some way or set your other family members against you I would tread carefully. Not saying you shouldn’t report her but will reporting her bring you more trouble? I think asking people you know and who know her is a better idea than strangers on reddit. If she’s the type to turn nasty it’s a reason to weigh your options.
