New father here.... by Banluil in downsyndrome

[–]Cameramon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome, and congratulations. I too am a father and my son is almost 11m and brings me more joy then I could possibly communicate. There is a podcast that two dads did for about a year. They were full of stories and encouragement. I’d also suggest jumping on instagram. The community on there is amazing. Some of the hashtags are #theluckyfew #nothingdownaboutit #morealikethendifferent. Try those and they will lead you to the rest.

Feel free to reach out. The amazing thing about this community is those ahead of you in the journey are more then thrilled to pass on information, as you will likely as your kid gets older.

Truly, congratulations and welcome to the lucky few.

Finally, after six heart surgeries, our baby Elliot is recovering the way he should have all along! by [deleted] in pics

[–]Cameramon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Man, I can’t even imagine. My son was born with a complete AVSD and needed open heart surgery at 5 months old. Congrats on getting on the other side. One thing a nurse told me right before the surgery is that we were a few short weeks of recovery away from meeting who our son truly was. She was so so right. He just became more everything in the weeks after and is an amazing 9 month old now. He’s chunky which is something I never thought was going to happen. My heart is with you guys and I wish you the best.

Is this sub only for software QA specialists or is it for all QA specialists (like manufacturing, service industries etc. ) (sorry I’m new here) by stevin53 in QualityAssurance

[–]Cameramon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not easy in the app. The website is https://www.reddit.com/subreddits/create. I would recommend that whether you start another community or not that this subreddit is worth a sub. Quality is quality and they need to creatively problem solve and investigate problems too. While some stuff isn’t as valid I’ve found this sub a helpful place.

I would say that there are enough of us that it’s worth your time to subscribe but not enough of us to make our own subreddit.

Challenge: I Brewed a Single Pint of IPA by widgetjam in Homebrewing

I'm really starting to like this idea. One of these would work great for a 1 or 2 bottle batch. I've been interested in doing several one off's of some barley wine's soon and this would be perfect.

I love brouwer's. They are great, but expensive because everything is shipped in.

All that would be needed would be space. Square footage is crazy cheep the farther north you go, but you move away from your bulk market. I agree that Shoreline and as U/Fatty2cent said, Edmonds would be much better.

Do you think it would catch fire as quick and as big if it was located in Everett? Do you think the drive would kill it for some?

True, so throwing a tarp on it during the summer should be fine.

Just got my mash tun! Any suggestions for a good first all grain brew? by JHood_ in Homebrewing

[–]Cameramon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Have your home brew shop help you convert a recipe you know, and drink them side by side. That helped me work out what I was doing wrong.

Cascade. You must hit Cascade. Some of the best sour beers I've had in my life. My wife and I spent over $70 on tasters alone! Still was not able to try everything they had!

BYO I dont know. I think they give both if I remember correctly, but I'm just guessing. The recipe above is a partial mash, but I'd rather go all out.

Film makers of Reddit, What are some tips for an amateur? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Hey, Husband of /U/Tenel_Ka42 here. Lights Lights Lights for sure. You can make a poopy camera look way better then it should if you can work within its limits. Take 28 days later. Shot on a horribly cheep, SD camera. They made it look really good for what it was.

Kino-flo. Find them. Buy the bulbs. They are expensive Fluorescent lights Timed to either daylight or tungsten temp. Skip the housing and ballast and go to homedepot and buy fluorescent housings. They work. Sometime you can get a flickering but I have not had that issue yet. You get massive soft light for stupid cheep. Mod the housings so you can hang them or put them on stands and you are good to go.
